Federal program offers cash to cover COVID-19
funeral costs

Boston—When Wanda Olson’s son-in-law died in March after contracting COVID-19, she and her daughter had to grapple with more than just their sudden grief. They had to come up with money for a cremation. Even without a funeral, the bill came to nearly $2,000, a hefty sum that Olson initially covered. She and her daughter then learned of a federal program that reimburses families up to $9,000 for funeral costs for loved ones who died of COVID-19. Olson’s daughter submitted an application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, received a deposit by June and was able to reimburse her mother the $1,974.

Comments:

Without these "federal funds," they'd have had to pay for this themselves. Brilliant. USA inflates the "cases" because there are ineffective but highly profitable vaccines to force on people, and we want to destroy our own economy with help from the Chinese bioweapon and uncontrolled federal spending generally, so we can usher in communism. Meanwhile, despite Joe's Secret Plan, the Failed USA has the highest Covid death rate in the developed world, just behind Poland, which is just above us. Doing better than us are Mexico, Italy, the UK, Greece, Spain, Ecuador, Serbia, France, Bolivia, the EU as a whole, Germany, Honduras, Turkey, Canada, Cuba, Morocco, Venezuela, Senegal, Yemen, Ethiopia, Liberia, Taiwan, South Sudan, Nigeria, and down the line.

At least in Illinois, gunshot victims get $9000 for a funeral, which sometimes results in more gunshot victims outside the funeral.

Taxable of course. One condition of disbursing the money is supplying a proof of vaccination document.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene denounced Kwanzaa as a “fake religion” just as millions of Black people start to celebrate the weeklong holiday. The far-right Georgia lawmaker berated the national College Republicans for “pandering and BS” after the GOP group tweeted a seemingly innocuous happy holiday message. “Stop. It’s a fake religion created by a psychopath,” Greene said. “People are tired of pandering and BS.” She was apparently deriding Kwanzaa founder Prof. Maulana Karenga, who was convicted of felony assault in the 1960s in what he says was a politically motivated prosecution spurred by his involvement in Black nationalist politics. Greene suggested that the College Republicans should avoid political correctness

The MTA is not ready to handle the influx of tolling complaints expected from congestion pricing, the authority’s inspector general suggested Monday. Transportation Authority officials have done little to study the underlying causes of thousands of toll complaints and are playing catch-up to develop a “modern information system” by the start of Central Business District Tolling in 2023. MTA Bridges and Tunnels “does not have a reliable way to detect systemic issues,” IG Carolyn Pokorny said.(Snip)The introduction of cashless tolling across New York state spurred outrage when some motorists racked up hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines—sometime unjustly—for failing to pay violations in time.
