Team Biden will pay a hefty price for

The surprise Sunday was not Sen. Joe Manchin’s announcement on "Fox News Sunday" that he won’t support President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better (BBB) bill, but the White House reaction to his declaration. It should not have been a shock. For months Manchin, D-W.Va., had expressed strong concerns about the bill’s spending, tax increases, expanded welfare benefits, and anti-domestic energy provisions. Recent events – notably last week’s latest inflation numbers and a Congressional Budget Office report the week before revealing that the BBB’s true 10-year cost was $3 trillion higher than what the measure’s supporters were flacking – only reinforced the West Virginian’s belief this gigantic buffet of "free"

Manchin comes from West Virginia. A state whose economy is highly dependent on coal. So the only part of that bill he truly opposes are the anti-domestic energy provisions. Sadly, if the Demon-Rats left coal alone, he would have shown his true lie-beral colors and gladly supported all the other pork. But, hey, I will take it any way we can get it to have at least one Demon-Rat oppose this Communist monstrosity of a bill and keep it from passing!!!

It would be nice if Manchin switched parties, and put all of the extreme agenda of the progressives on ice, as they would suddenly be the Minority Party, and it would be very hard to get those Federal judicial appointments through, or anything else. I'll wait until Jan 2023 when the Republicans are able to review all of what the democrats have been doing, with particular interest in everything Rep. bull Schiff has been doing. After all, they have to follow some sort of protocols and procedures, and if they skipped a few, or hide documents, then bring them all up on tampering with an investigation charges. If they skipped any steps then anything they did should be reversed, or considered null and void.

The biggest mystery is, why is Joe Manchin still a democrat. If you listen to him, he has nothing in common with the communist democratic party or their American hating members.

I did not think he would switch parties, but the abuse heaped upon him is getting substantial. He just might be pushed over the edge in the coming year.

Democrats are angry and confused 14 replies

In high school, I visited a local hospital each Friday evening with other volunteers to play bingo, soccer, and other games with the mental health patients. In bingo, players would become confused and angry when the numbers on their cards were not called, and they'd sometimes demand that I go and hit the person calling them. Likewise, on the soccer field, patients would cry "foul!" when an opponent took the ball from them or scored a goal. They didn't understand what was going on, and they'd sometimes get cross about it. They could, of course, be forgiven for not understanding how the games were played.

The jury deliberating at Kim Potter's manslaughter trial in the shooting death of Daunte Wright asked a judge whether the officer's handgun could be freed from an evidence box so they could hold it. Their question Tuesday went to the heart of the former police officer's claim that she made a tragic mistake when she grabbed her gun, instead of her Taser, and shot Wright during a traffic stop April 11 in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center. Prosecutors had highlighted the differences in the look, feel and weight between Potter's gun and Taser, and had promised jurors they would be able to handle them during deliberations.

For Biden, a day of Covid Reckoning is coming. President Joe Biden has come up with a new set of measures to deal with the surge in COVID cases. The plan, which focuses mostly on assisting hospitals, home testing, and promoting vaccinations, is the latest evidence that Biden, who during the presidential campaign portrayed himself as an experienced leader who knew how to handle the pandemic, was not, in fact, prepared to handle the pandemic. The simple fact is, Biden has failed to live up to his promises to control the pandemic. During his second debate with then-President Donald Trump, Biden pledged to "shut down the virus."

U.S. Border Patrol agents continue to apprehend sex offenders, criminals, and gang members along the southern border, with one apprehension turning deadly after a human smuggler crashed into a local resident’s car and killed a mother and daughter in Mission, Texas.Border patrol agents have apprehended nearly 2 million people who’ve entered the U.S. illegally since the Biden administration began its open border policy, reversing existing policies and ignoring immigration laws passed by Congress. Despite an increased workload and staff shortages, agents still manage to arrest gang members, convicted sex offenders and other criminals attempting to enter the U.S. illegally. A casual internet search on the term “save democracy” will retrieve countless articles and opinion pieces from major media outlets contending that free elections in the U.S. will soon be a thing of the past if Congress fails to pass “voting rights” legislation now. The following Washington Post headline is typically portentous: “Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin mull whether democracy is worth saving.” It is little more than an ad hominem attack on the only two Democrats who have resisted pressure to eliminate an arcane Senate rule in order to facilitate federal usurpation of state election prerogatives outlined in the Constitution.

The number of people moving to California has significantly dropped since the pandemic started last year, while the number of people fleeing the state continues to rise, according to a new study. "I guess I was a little bit surprised to see that entrances had fallen so much. It wasn't so much that we saw it in a particular area. For me, the surprise was that this was a statewide phenomenon," co-author of the study from California Police Lab, Evan White, told KCRA.The study found a 38% decrease in people moving to California at the end of September 2021 compared to the end of March 2020.

There may be a rematch coming in the 2024 race for the White House. But we're not talking (God help us) Biden-Trump II. Instead, 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is an interesting prospect to consider when looking for a viable candidate, particularly if an 80-something President Biden decides not to seek a second term. And why would he? Just 22 percent of voters want him to seek a second term, according to a I&I-TIPP poll. It doesn't get much better when polling only Democrats, where just 36 percent want to see the president run again, with that juggernaut candidate named "someone else" coming in first with 44 percent support.

Adam Schiff, D-Calif., is now running the same con against a fellow lawmaker. During a hearing Monday night on the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Adam Schiff claimed to have proof that a member of Congress texted former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to instruct former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

A new poll from Quinnipiac Polling Group indicates that incumbent Governor Greg Abbott is well on his way to victory in the 2022 midterm elections. The survey of 1,224 registered voters found Abbott has opened a 53 percent to 37 percent lead, a whopping 15 point margin in the early going. Beto’s poor early numbers suggest the “purple Texas” narrative is under threat of collapse. The Biden border catastrophe, Beto’s insufferable Austin tech-bro liberalism, and collapsing support among Hispanic voters threaten humiliation for Texas Democrats. The Democratic weakness in Texas may come as a surprise to Republicans who watched with horror as Beto threatened to lead a successful progressive insurgency

Everyone’s understandably focused today on how Cheney embarrassed Trump Jr and the Fox News gang by reading their texts to Trump on January 6. Ed has a nice write-up about it here. But don’t miss the forest for the trees. The point Cheney was making isn’t that Fox News hosts are hypocrites, although they are. The point is that the president’s own family and allies were pleading with him while the riot was unfolding to do something, yet he did nothing — for hours. Everyone around him treated it like an emergency. Not him. Was that a crime? Watch the end of this clip, starting at around 3:00.

As has been clear for some time now, the fortunes of Joe Biden’s Build Back Better legislation and the state of the US economy are inextricably linked. With every bit of economic bad news, such as the worse-in-40-years inflation figures announced on Friday, the chances of the president securing 50 votes for his monster spending bill seem to fade. Today, Biden will meet Joe Manchin and try to win the West Virginia holdout round. But one suspects nothing the president says to Manchin would be as persuasive as some good economic news — in particular, an easing of the price rises that Manchin has long said are a major reason

He thinks that Biden is a savvy political operative as evidenced by a successful political career that has spanned almost 50 years. (snip) "Voters and pundits misread Biden. It might be an instance of Hillary’s mouth running ahead of her brain, but don’t count on it. Hillary is a coldly calculating woman -- and that might be one of her better qualities. Hillary suggested that if Trump or “someone of his ilk” is elected president in 2024, then American democracy is kaput. Foolishness? Knowing the conceits and delusions that infect her intended audience, her suggestion might not seem ludicrous.
