Darrell Brooks Jr., who is alleged to have driven the SUV that killed six people and injured many more during last month's Christmas parade in Waukesa, Wiconsin, faces more charges in another crime. Not surprisingly, most of that coverage has come from local news outlets. The other incident involves a 30-year old woman who is the mother of Brooks' daughter and whom he proposed marriage to over the phone last month. Brooks has also been charged with running her over last month with the same car. According to Bruce Vielmetti with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a new complaint was filed on Monday:

Comments:

The mainstream media is "the enemy of the people." Trump was right.

Ask the families of the victims of this racial attack if Brooks is a "suspect".

Unless the people of Waukesha and/or the victims families don't demand he be charged with a hate crime and/or domestic terrorism, I will focus my attention elsewhere.

Thank you to the person who did the story, but it’s weird that the tip is attributed to a story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Wisconsin court cases are easily accessible online. Anyone reporting on the person charged in the SUV parade murders can easily check what’s going on in court with him. Wisconsin Statutes are also free online. It was frustrating to watch even conservative pundits who kept saying that Kyle Rittenhouse was probably guilty of the possession of a firearm by a minor charge, when the statute was out there for anyone to read, and it should’ve been clear that it was legal for him to pass out the rifle he had.

A majority of voters do not think Vice President Kamala Harris has what it takes to hold the nation’s highest office if she had to assume the presidency, a Rasmussen poll released Tuesday found. Fifty-five percent of U.S. voters “don’t think the vice president is qualified for the top job,” and 46 percent say she is “not at all qualified” for the duties of the presidency, according to the poll, which was conducted with 1,000 likely U.S. voters between December 5-6, 2021. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.

A total of 60 United States police officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty since the beginning of the year, new data reveals, following anti-law enforcement riots and the start of the “Defund the Police” movement in 2020. According to records from the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP), 60 police officers across 45 U.S. states and territories have been killed in gunfire from January 1 to December 3 — a nearly 28 percent increase in fatal shootings of officers compared to all of 2020 when 47 officers were shot and killed.

Katie Hill is a woman who has become so bitter over the self-inflicted “throuple” sex scandal that brought her Congressional career to a screeching halt in 2019 that she seems destined to make pretty much everyone hate her, including her defenders on her own side at the rate she’s going. Not content with taking politically convenient cheap shots on social media at conservatives she doesn’t like including former colleagues, and not content with milking her long-expired 15 minutes of fame for all it is (was) worth, Hill is spending her days updating her supporters on how things are going with her pregnancy.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) flexed its social justice muscles this week when the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition released a new video advertising the various causes that the organization will push. The video marks the coalition’s first step onto the media scene after the NBA announced the social justice-minded group last year. “Our goal is really simple. We want to take moments of protest, moments of people power like we saw last year and turn them into public policy.” Executive Director of the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition James Cadogan said in the video. “We want to change laws.”

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. In the future, everyone will have their own lingerie calendar. What a weekend. Lots of quality time with family, including crossing something off of my sports fan bucket list. My daughter and I joined my sister, brother-in-law, and nieces in Ann Arbor for the Ohio State/Michigan game in the Big House. Snow all game, drunk people, a Michigan victory…who could ask for more?I should be clear: the snow during the game was fun. Oddly, we don’t get a lot of that at games in Tucson. However, I remain a warm-weather guy. Also, I do hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving weekend.

When Debra Haaland snuck through confirmation (with 51 votes) to become the Secretary of the Interior, everyone who had been paying attention knew that she was going to be gunning for the oil and gas industry. That made her a valuable ally for Joe Biden, who began working to shut down pipeline construction and “pause” energy exploration on public lands within hours of being sworn in. (Unless the pipeline is owned by Russia, of course, in which case he basically finances it.) Now, with gas prices spiking dramatically and in the midst of what is

Last week, the city of Baltimore, Maryland once again passed the grim milestone of seeing more than 300 murders in 2021 and there’s still more than a month to go. This is the seventh straight year that Charm City has broken that barrier. Crime rates of most types are also up around other parts of the state. In response, Governor Larry Hogan once again proposed legislation to combat the ongoing problem. His “refund the police” initiative would invest $150 million into state and local police departments to hire more officers and upgrade equipment.

DAVIS, Calif. — Banana peels, chicken bones and leftover veggies won't have a place in California trashcans under the nation's largest mandatory residential food waste recycling program that's set to take effect in January. The effort is designed to keep landfills in the most populous U.S. state clear of food waste that damages the atmosphere as it decays. When food scraps and other organic materials break down they emit methane, a greenhouse gas more potent and damaging in the short-term than carbon emissions from fossil fuels. To avoid those emissions, California plans to start converting residents' food waste into compost or

President Biden has signed a series of executive orders to make the federal government carbon neutral. The Democrat president on Wednesday ordered federal agencies to purchase electric vehicles, harness wind, solar, and nuclear energy to power facilities, and to use sustainable building materials. The goal is for the federal government to stop adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere by 2050. In the next decade, Biden wants the government to cease purchasing electricity produced from sources that emit carbon dioxide. By 2035, the administration wants all new federal cars and truck purchases to be zero-emissions. Right now, only about 1.5% of the government fleet is electric vehicles.

Newly resurfaced video appears to show a US attorney appointed by President Joe Biden angrily confronting journalists in an expletive-ridden tirade in January 2021. Biden tapped Suffolk Country District Attorney Rachael Rollins to lead the US Attorney's Office in Massachusetts in July. On Wednesday she made history as the first black woman to be confirmed in the role by the Senate, when Vice President Kamala Harris broke a 50-50 tie along party lines. But in footage recorded by Boston 25 News earlier in the year, Rollins angrily threatens a news team with legal action and accuses them of endangering her children for asking for an interview near her home.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Forget speeding tickets — California truck drivers will soon have to watch out for pollution tickets. State regulators on Thursday voted to crack down on heavy duty trucks weighing more than 14,000 pounds (6,350 kilograms) — those big semi-trailers that make up just 3% of all vehicles in California but spend so much time on the road they account for more than half of all pollution from cars and trucks each year. New rules will require these big trucks, including ones from other states passing through Califonria — to be tested at least four times per year to make sure they
