President Biden on Wednesday called for the Federal Trade Commission to probe whether oil and gas companies are engaging in criminal conduct by profiting from artificially high prices at the pump, even as wholesale fuel costs decline.
Biden – under mounting political pressure with inflation at the highest rate in more than three decades – urged FTC Chair Lina Khan in a letter to investigate potential wrongdoing by the industry, alleging "mounting evidence of anti-consumer behavior" by the companies. "The bottom line is this: gasoline prices at the pump remain high, even though oil and gas companies' costs are declining,"

I guess the administration's 'high gas prices are good for the planet' narrative failed.

Well, then, the investigation needs to be expanded from the outset to include the meat companies, housing companies, car companies, toy companies, etc - they're obviously all acting illegally to raise prices.

Yeah, intentionally cut down on supply....and then be SHOCKED when prices increase due to shortages. So, sic the FTC on these horrible companies.....increasing retail prices just because wholesale prices have doubled.
Marxists grasp of economics is very limited, and what they "know" is the opposite of fact. Hell, these fools might actually believe this nonsense.

Once again, trying to place blame on "big oil" to see if they can fool just enough people to believe it isn't their own policies.
This is a waste of government time and resources.

The Demented Fuhrer never had a need to understand the basics of economics. The rising price of ice cream is one of his few concerns although Attorney General Merrick "Gestapo" Garland has similar ways to squash rising with fuel costs.

When at first you don't succeed, blame someone else for your ineptitude. Then use your ill-gotten power to investigate theme.

This is a LOL moment.
Create the problem, on purpose, in public, to the accolades of the Never Trumpers and Dem-Media.
Then, try to DEFLECT the consequences.

Can we ask someone to investigate HIS illegal conduct? Lying to the American people or just in general being a demented ignorant fool should in and of itself be a crime to the people of America.

They should investigate Biden, who is 100% responsible for the rise in prices. The Sec of Energy laughed when questioned about the higher prices, because that is the goal. The Biden administration has stated their goal is to shutdown the oil and gas industry and the coal industry. That is going to lead to huge scarcities, as the demand has not dropped any, and will not. Exxon has already dropped investments all over the world, and indicated they were not going to pursue them under this environment. It takes up to 5 years to develop an investment and bring the production to market. So yes, Biden and his cabal of socialists are 100% responsible, having ruined another industry. We will soon be producing less than Venezuela.

This worthless skid mark drives the prices up through his own actions, then tries to deflect by sending the FTC to 'investigate' the cause.
Completely sick of this filthy little communist prlck.

Take a look'see at California's restrictions on the trucking industry and see if there might be some interstate commerce violations while you're at it.

Funny last year nov 2020 I paid $2 19 a gallon. Today I paid $3.51. Me thinks Biden Suks and blaming someone else is simply laughing at the man in the mirror.
