It’s weak by week for old Joe Biden

Another week, another series of fumbling, mumbling and disasters. How low can Joe Biden go? Once again, the common theme was weakness. At home and abroad, he is shrinking the presidency before our eyes. The diminished commander in chief visited his party members in Congress Thursday and was reduced to pleading for them to save his bacon. “The House and Senate majorities and my presidency will be determined by what happens next week,” he confessed to Democrats. It was an extraordinary moment for a president, the ostensible leader of his party, but in reality this one is a beggar-in-chief. His focus was on the fate of two massive pieces of legislation,

Southwest Airlines ‘Let’s go, Brandon!’ claim may not be all it’s cracked up to be according to social media sleuths Associated Press reporter Colleen Long claimed over the weekend that a Southwest Airlines pilot on her flight signed off with “Let’s go, Brandon!” but the audio being passed around with her story seems to have some major inconsistencies.First off, according to Twitchy, there is real doubt as to whether the pilot said “Let’s go, Brandon!” or “Let’s go, Braves!” because the audio is clipped. But the media ran with the much more controversial “Let’s go, Brandon!” pretty much on the word of an AP reporter.

President Joe Biden capped off his first day at the COP26 climate conference on Monday with a royal reception with Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton. Biden laughed with Prince William, and put a hand on his shoulder at the event at the popular Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, a short distance from where the climate summit was being held. The Duchess of Cambridge was also seen arriving at the event along with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. He appeared more invigorated than earlier in the day when he was caught resting his eyes during the opening session of the UN-sponsored climate summit,

Virginia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe shifted his communication strategy away from Donald Trump the weekend before Tuesday’s election. McAuliffe said in Virginia Beach on Saturday his campaign is “not about Trump,” despite constantly attempting to bring Donald Trump into the statewide election for months. McAuliffe also doubled down Sunday on CNN, saying the election was no longer about Trump. “I’d love to have him come in,” McAuliffe said of Trump. “But you know… this is not about Trump.”The change in direction comes as McAuliffe has accused Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin of being a “Trump wannabe.”

President Joe Biden’s public struggles with even the simplest usage of the English language have been well documented on the U.S. political scene. From confusing his wife, Jill Biden, with his sister, Valerie, to saying in the lead-up to last year’s presidential race he is a “candidate for the United States Senate” and people could “vote for the other Biden” if he is not their preferred candidate, it appears he can be easily baffled by the most simple of tasks.Simply acknowledging his own position ahead of that of Vice President Kamala Harris once proved too much for his cognitive faculties.

Raised during the 1960s era of systematic racism and consequential societal change, I have experienced the real-life impacts of our country’s world-changing mission statement: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” That is what makes recent attempts to institutionalize division and disincentivize parental involvement in the classroom all the more disturbing. I grew up in a home of teachers. My dad was a college professor for more than 40 years, and my mom taught junior high. They were trusted to do what teachers throughout our history have always done: teach students to read, write, add, subtract, and think critically,

I wrote earlier about how the Southwest Airlines incident involving a rebellious pilot who paid homage to the “Let’s go, Brandon” chant during a greeting to passengers on the airplane’s intercom system Friday seemed to truly upset the wackadoodles at CNN perhaps more so than any other group of people. To quickly recap for anyone who missed it, there was CNN “journalist” John Harwood’s “Seriously?” reaction towards the airline, and then CNN “national security analyst” Juliette Kayyem – also a Harvard professor – encouraging passengers to file a complaint with the FAA over a pilot who she is now snidely smearing with allegations of possible “substance abuse.”

NEW YORK — Health officials on Friday offered more evidence that vaccinations offer better protection against COVID-19 than immunity from a prior infection. Unvaccinated people who had been infected months earlier were 5 times more likely to get COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people who didn’t have a prior infection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded in a new study. “These data show, pretty strongly, that the vaccines are more protective against symptomatic COVID,” said Dr. Mike Saag, an infectious disease expert at the University of Alabama.
