The White House jumped to the defense of Pete Buttigieg after a report broke that the Transportation secretary has been on paid paternity leave since mid-August, as his department comes under intense scrutiny for supply chain issues. Federal employees are offered up to 12 weeks' paid parental leave, though Cabinet secretaries are not included in that, meaning President Biden had to sign off on the leave. Buttigieg announced on Sept. 4 that he and his husband Chasten had adopted twins. 'Proud to work in an Administration that is fighting to make paid leave a reality for everyone, and with people like @SecretaryPete who are role models

A role model for what? Dereliction of duty?

Whether Buttigieg were at work or not, it would make no difference. He has no clue how to fix the problems. Biden has enlisted academics who don’t know jack about the real world and how it works. They are more committed to their socialist ideology than to fixing problems and preventing them in the first place.

If they are so proud of themselves for giving him nearly 2 months paid parental leave, during a major transportation crisis, why have they kept it a secret?

It’s called taking advantage of the system. My husband had to use vacation time for the first 2 to make long a weekend than I was on my own. The last child (all homebirthed) he had one week family leave and used that time to bolster our winter fire wood. I call baloney they probably have a nanny on staff. More kabuki

My daughter works at the VA and when she was pregnant she worked until day before baby was born, got NO maternity pay and saved up vacation days to stay home for a while with her child. I hope Pete is getting same treatment.

While paternity leave for a man is nice, it really isn't needed as for the birth mother.
Having said that when you take on the responsibility of being part of running the USA it is more than just a normal factory or corporate job. You work long hours supposedly because you care about the direction of the country and the future life for your children.
Pete Buttigieg should know this and understand his job require this sacrifice. He should never take this time off when this logistics issue was clearly looming.

But honestly y’all, what would have been different if he were on the job the past two months? It would probably be worse.

Just a guess on my part but I imagine Buttigieg and his partner had been planning the adoption for quite some time. In the midst of a pandemic and a nightmare of supply chain issues, our Secretary of Transportation decided it was more important to indulge his personal wishes than to try to serve the country (for which he is being paid handsomely). Tells you everything you need to know about liberals. And FJB.

Joe and his whole gaggle of misfits, perverts, morons and fellow pedophiles are all missing in action whether they are physically present in their offices or not. A real president would make one phone call to Newsom and get the whole shipping situation solved in a day. The reason the White House doesn't call California is because the truck SNAFU is exactly what they want to be happening all over the country. They won't stop until it is demonstrated that electric tractor trailers are a pipe dream. That won't happen until after diesel power is outlawed. We are in for a long ride unless these incompetents are all removed.

The White House also jumped the shark. Nothing new. Shark jumping happens on a daily basis in the WH.
Buttigieg needs to get his priorities straight. He's not a woman that needs to breast feed every 2 hours. He can hire someone to care for these infants. Secretary of Transportation is not an 8-5 job with a local company in South Bend Indiana. Do your job or resign.

If Pete were working at the local 7-11 his paternity leave wouldn’t have any impact. But now that I think about it that’s about the amount of impact his absence had.

Real feminists know what the Pete B thing is all about. And it ain't babies. The media has deified him and his "husband" (or is it wife?) and subjected Americans, again, as they do daily, with the despicable non-values of the left fringe, as they fly in the face of Judeo-Christian values (those which have saved America again and again). While denying the claims of natural reason itself, these petty boys denigrate the natural dignity and pride and status of women. Petey and co are are hateful, vicious, and jealous little enfants terribles, cutting up their sisters' dolls with scissors. That's what the smug looks in their stagey photo ops, with their staged "babies", really signal. Let's Go, Brandon.

His "wife" isn't working either, and there is no reason he/she/they cannot bring the babies into the office.
He complained that they could only find/afford an 800sqft apt....His Office is bigger than that.
Keep in mind this wasn't a surprise/problem pregnancy, they searched out, found and BOUGHT two children, they CHOSE to do it at this particular time. A time when the Infrastructure Bill is hanging in Limbo...the $3.5 Trillion "other" infrastructure Boondoggle is under siege, fuel prices are soaring, trains are derailing, amtrack is in crises, airlifts for refugees here and abroad are headlines...then the "Ports" issue escalates like a windblown Calif wildfire...

1. Neither he nor his 'husband' had anything to do with the twins.
2.If I go buy a couple of puppies can I get 2 months of paternity leave.
3. it seems to be that only the unionized California ports are backed up. Houston's just fine.

Republicans pay attention: this administration is missing in brains since it is only a clown administration. There is not one single brain in this totally insane bunch of morons who are being trotted out and those who work behind the scenes to throw this country into complete chaos.
