Beijing — China’s central bank on Friday declared all transactions involving Bitcoin and other virtual currencies illegal, stepping up a campaign to block use of unofficial digital money.
Friday’s notice complained Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital currencies disrupt the financial system and are used in money-laundering and other crimes.
“Virtual currency derivative transactions are all illegal financial activities and are strictly prohibited,” the People’s Bank of China said on its website.

A draft copy of the 2020 Maricopa County election audit has been leaked to KJZZ, a Phoenix-based radio station.
The validity of the draft report they obtained was confirmed by audit spokesman Randy Pullen, who said, “It’s not the final report, but it’s close.”
The media is already spinning the findings of the audit.
“The partisan review of Maricopa County’s 2.1 million ballots cast in the 2020 election found a vote count nearly identical to what the county had previously reported,” CNN reported. Like other liberal outlets, CNN focused on the results of the hand-recount part of the audit. As we know, hand recounts may account for slight discrepancies

“Those people will pay,” Joe Biden promised, making the Border Patrol a bigger target for the president than the Taliban, apparently. Biden got confronted in his presser this morning over the border crisis, with one reporter pressing him to explain how his promises of humane treatment square with the images seen from Del Rio. Biden seized on the misinformation about alleged whippings by the Border Patrol’s mounted units, promising “consequences” for the agents in question: Our pal Guy Benson notes the contrast between Biden’s assessment of American law enforcement and the “business”-minded people currently reinstating amputations in Afghanistan:

A funny thing happened on the way to the accountability forum for the New York Times. In attempting to explain why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez broke out in tears after changing her vote on Iron Dome funding from nay to present, the NYT reported that a great deal of pressure had been brought to bear on House Democrats. Who applied that pressure? It depends on which version of the New York Times report you read.
This was the first take: It was the “influential … rabbis” that made AOC cry and forced her to vote present on bill that passed with, er, 420 votes?

President Biden slammed Border Patrol agents filmed on horseback attempting to stop migrants from crossing the Rio Grande into Texas, saying they would “pay” for their actions.
“It was horrible to see what you saw, to see people treated like they did—horses barely running them over people being strapped,” Biden said at a press conference at the White House on Friday. “It’s outrageous. I promise you those people will pay.”
Biden added, “There will be consequences. It’s an embarrassment. But beyond an embarrassment is dangerous, it’s wrong.”

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and ultimately, Gainesville city employees, scored a victory this week after a judge granted a temporary injunction against the city’s vaccine mandate.
Until Wednesday, Gainseville city employees risked termination if they refused to get vaccinated for the Chinese coronavirus — a rule the city commissioners voted for in August 4-3.
“People who are going to hospitals, the vast vast majority of them haven’t been vaccinated,” commissioner Adrian Hayes-Santos said at the time.
“I believe we move towards mandating vaccines for our employees so that we can ensure all of our people are healthy, they have a safe workplace, and also for the public,”

White House officials are alarmed by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ mismanagement of the border, according to a report Thursday in Buzzfeed News.
The article relies on comments from unnamed sources. But author Hamed Aleaziz has a good record of getting scoops from many senior and mid-level pro-migration advocates in government. The article is titled:
Biden’s Approach To Immigration Is Causing A Huge Internal Rift And Leading To A Lot Of Confusion
The article lists many pro-migration measures adopted by Mayorkas, but the quoted sources lament the White House’s continued use of the Title 42 rule

Democrats for years have claimed they've got the black, Hispanic, and Asian-American vote in the bag, and they arrogantly carried on with their agenda. One problem: The assumptions are not working anymore: It's not just one poll. Here's another from a couple days ago, according to the Daily Caller:
A new poll released Monday by Dallas Morning News found that the majority of Hispanics in Texas disapprove of President Joe Biden’s job in the Oval Office.
Only 35% of Texas Hispanic voters said they approved or strongly approved of Biden’s job as president, while 54% either disapproved or strongly disapproved, according to The Dallas Morning News.

The results from the Arizona audit are in per multiple reports, and they are going to set off a firestorm. According to Axios, who is reporting on a copy of the Cyber Ninjas findings obtained by The Washington Post, Joe Biden not only won Maricopa County, where the audit was taking place but won it by a wider margin than the official results.
Unless these reports, which are also coming from local Arizona news, are completely false, Biden will apparently be found to have garnered 360 more votes than originally counted. The official report will be out at 3 PM EDT today

The George Soros-funded Free Press is in hot water after it submitted a leftist petition to the Federal Communications Commission that included a comment that questioned if Republicans should be shot. The Free Press petition urged the FCC to “investigate its own history of racism and examine how its policy choices and actions have harmed black people and other communities of color.” The petition included the following violent comment: “How come we have racist horseshit like FOX and the other ultraconservative outlets and Christians owning most of our media. What happened to separation of church and state? Are we going to have to shoot Republican[s] to reclaim our democracy?”

A phone call took place between Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday paving the way for reconciliation between the two countries. The call lasted for 30 minutes and by the end, both men agreed to find a path forward. France agreed to send its ambassador back to the U.S.
Yanking an ambassador during a squabble between two countries is meant as an attention-getting move, a show of anger over some perceived slight. In this case, we are hard-pressed to find another time when France recalled its ambassador from the U.S. France is America’s oldest ally and the relationship has remained unbroken through the years.

The White House argued Thursday that former President Donald Trump was to blame for the Haitian migrant crisis taking place on the Southern border.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki bristled after reporters questioned why Biden’s efforts to secure the border were being compared by members of his own party to those used by former President Trump.
“We could not see it as any more different from the policy of the prior administration, which the president feels, we all feel was inhuman, immoral, ineffective, wasn’t operationally working,” she replied. “And because of the dysfunction of it, we are dealing with the very broken system that we’re dealing with today.”
