American dominance and values sorely tested

From Twitter to the Taliban, we are witnessing the death of American supremacy. Mere weeks ago, we did the unthinkable: With thousands of our citizens trapped in Afghanistan, the Biden administration asked the Taliban to extend our deadline for withdrawal. They said no. We said OK. The United States of America, capitulating to a medieval death cult. Our posture on the world stage is exemplified by our increasingly weak president, head in hands and bending before the White House press corps, unable to explain or defend this unmitigated disaster.

Sad but true...the really sad thing is that so many Americans think this is okay and make excuses for "private" companies.

It's what we conservatives have been saying for years: The leftists are a pack of schoolyard bullies and like all bullies back down when someone calls their bluff, as the Taliban proved so conclusively in Afghanistan. It's such a shame we don't have anyone to stand up to them in our own country. Or do we?

This goes back to the days of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and their minions peddling "compassionate conservatism" to close the so-called gender gap that vexes Republicans. In Bush it manifested itself as the "Wimp Factor." He, certainly more than Reagan, came across as weak brew, and his "Read my lips" tough guy cave-in...well, that was it. Guy blew a 90% approval rating to lose re-election in '92 to charmin' Bill Clinton. The Clinton Administration brought unbridled personal profiteering to the White House, which has since been institutionalized as the UNIPARTY Swamp. No one goes away without a fatter account, their kids on celebrity scholarship the rest of their lives, and a foundation to vacuum more - with the exception of the guy who tried to drain the swamp. American values aren't what they were. Neither are the challenges. Communist Russia was our bogeyman for decades before reality crashed it. Western Europe was our ally, until it discovered they didn't have to be to enjoy US military defense protection at cutrate prices. We flipped back to the old days of "What's good for business is good for America" and allowed US companies to offshore their production of goods. We left Afghanistan after 20 years. Even the UNIPARTY saw a public catching on to perpetual wars, nation building and the whole enterprise. PDT was going to end it...he didn't...and now Joe did. It was supposed to be a popular thing that was horribly botched by all involved, not the least the Afghan government and military, and I suspect the Talilban, who moved too quickly and compounded the chaos.

A Taliban spokesperson insisted to Fox News on Friday that "there will be no issue about women’s rights" following the militant group’s takeover of Afghanistan, despite widespread international concerns. But Suhail Shaheen also said he opposes Western views that "women should have an education without [a] hijab." "That is a change of culture," he said. "Our culture... they can receive education with hijab. They can work with hijab."

For many Americans waking up on Thursday, they must have thought that they had experience a real Rip Van Winkle of a snoozer for the last 50 years. Across the spectrum, legal experts were declaring the death of Roe v. Wade after the Supreme Court refused to enjoin a Texas anti-abortion law in an emergency filing. The mainstream media coverage ranged from the outright death of Roe to its being rendered to a vegetative state. The New York Times outright asked "Is this how Roe v. Wade dies?" The answer is no. This is how legal analysis dies.

Joe Biden read what they gave him to read about his “extraordinary success” in Afghanistan. And once again he became that angry old man at the end of the bar at closing time. He used that special voice of his, the Commander McBragg voice, the one he uses to recount his fabulist heroic exploits, from vanquishing the mythical thug “Corn Pop” in their titanic rumble behind the pool or lying about the time he was mythically arrested trying to visit Nelson Mandela in jail. The words they gave him to read bore him aloft, as if upon the wings of eagles. And as he spoke, he seemed to believe his own myths

There's a lot of talk in Democratic circles these days about vulnerable 2022 candidates beginning to distance themselves from President Joe Biden amid his faltering poll numbers on both how he has handled Afghanistan and his overall job performance. "Although it is clear to me that we could not continue to put American service members in danger for an unwinnable war, I also believe that the evacuation process appears to have been egregiously mishandled," wrote Pennsylvania Rep. Susan Wild in a tweet late last week. (Biden won Wild's district with just 52% of the vote in 2020.) "Many of us are deeply frustrated that we could not evacuate all Americans

A White House official said they were "appalled and literally horrified" that President Biden left Americans stranded in Afghanistan, a new report reveals. An administration official told Politico that they were stunned by the president’s decision to leave Americans behind as the Taliban solidifies their power in the country and reportedly engages in door-to-door executions. "I am absolutely appalled and literally horrified we left Americans there," the official said. "It was a hostage rescue of thousands of Americans in the guise of a NEO [noncombatant evacuation operations], and we have failed that no-fail mission."

Never mind what your lying eyes just witnessed, President Biden told the the world and America, the end of the war in Afghanistan was a historic success. The withdrawal that he promised not long ago would be “safe and orderly,” that was nothing but, couldn’t have gone any other way. The only alternative to this horribly bungled pullout was escalation, another year or five or 10 of war, dooming the American military to even more perilous fighting. In other words: If you find yourself critiquing the frenzied and chaotic exit, wishing there had been some semblance of good planning, you may as well be rooting for the death of more CORRECTION

Horrifying audio of distant gunshots appears to confirm reports of "house-to-house executions" as the Taliban asserts control of Kabul and Afghanistan after the U.S. military's departure on Monday evening. An Afghan man who worked with Americans on the ground provided Fox News with the chilling audio featuring distant gunshots. "I think there's a conflict between the Taliban, I have no idea where I'm located. From everywhere I hear the sounds of shooting, gunfire. I have no idea how to leave," the Afghan man said in the audio clip, recorded around the time the final U.S. plane left Kabul. Distant gunshots rang in the background in the audio clip.

She was supposed to be a major player in the Biden administration after being lauded as an historic, consequential figure in her role as America’s first female vice president. “Harris Has the Potential To Change the Face of U.S. Politics,” read a November 2020 Politico headline that echoed many others at the time. And not long after Joe Biden was sworn in as the nation's 46th president, the administration insisted she should be known as her boss's equal. “Please be sure to reference the current administration as the ‘Biden-Harris Administration’ in official public communications,” a March directive read, emphasizing Biden-Harris in boldface.

As I've watched the events of the past few weeks – and thought about the nature of Joe Biden’s young presidency – I began to ask myself: How much more of this can we take? Of course, it would take months of time and writing to list all the errors Biden has made in his 48 years in politics, so I decided to start at his inauguration in January.

day after at least 13 U.S. soldiers were killed at the Kabul airport, it’s still unclear how many Americans will be abandoned in Afghanistan by the Biden administration. What we do know, though, is that most of the U.S. weaponry in the country will not be recovered. It’s as if Joe Biden himself was the military procurement chief for the Taliban. Until Thursday, there had been no U.S. combat casualties in Afghanistan since February of last year. But a bloodbath that the entire world outside of the White House saw coming arrived, and it became the deadliest day in the country for American troops since 2011

At this time last year, the Wuhan coronavirus was claiming around 1,000 American lives per day. It seemed to me that, absent a sudden and sharp decline in that number, Joe Biden would be our next president. It must have seemed that way to Biden and his top advisers, as well. During presidential debates that occurred a little less than a year ago, Biden ripped Trump for his handling of the pandemic. The death count was the centerpiece of this attack. So what’s the daily death count now, more than seven months into the Biden administration and with a majority of Americans vaccinated?

Corrupt. Incompetent. Pathological. Criminal. Treasonous. Those are just a few of the (printable) adjectives that aptly describe the illegitimate gang of idiots currently running our country. Joe Biden, the so-called president, is nothing more than a marionette controlled by a gaggle of career bureaucrats and academics, none of whom has ever contributed anything substantial to our once vibrant society. Indeed, they are nothing more than destroyers, power-mad ideologues who use a demented old grifter as a mouthpiece while they dismantle, piece by piece, our once great Republic. Nancy Sinatra told Midler on Twitter that, “My dad actually suggested that decades ago.” One commenter told Midler, “Did you know you’re my Shero?” Actress Rosanna Arquette, however, was not so upbeat about Midler’s not so modest proposal.

What's with the bizarre campaign against Ivermectin? It's not just that the FDA has put out a quackish tweet (shown here by AT contributor Dr. Brian Joondeph, M.D.) scolding viewers that they are not horses or cows. That's in reference to the fact that in some high-dose forms, ivermectin is used as a horse dewormer, begging the question about its effectiveness when it is dosed and formulated properly as a human medical treatment for COVID, prescribed off-label. The news reports repeatedly call ivermectin a dangerous drug, implying that all uses of the drug are dangerous, even when taken properly.

Additionally, protecting vulnerable populations and treating people with appropriate medicines may further reduce mortality rates. (snip) Dr. Ioannidis, therefore, decided to look at age-related survival rates and he came up with survival numbers that, if more widely known, would bring this mad panic to an end.
