U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement on Sunday indicating that it would investigate reports of civilian deaths that, it said, may have resulted from secondary explosions after an airstrike took out a would-be suicide bomber.
As Breitbart News and other agencies reported earlier on Sunday, an American drone targeted a car that was said to be carrying multiple suicide bombers to the international airport in Kabul. U.S. Navy Capt. Bill Urban, a spokesman for CENTCOM, said: “Significant secondary explosions from the vehicle indicated the presence of a substantial amount of explosive material.”

This is outrageous and it’s this type of thinking that is behind losing a war. But it’s OK for the other side to kill civilians in an act of terror. In war, “stuff” happens! This is typical, liberal, bleeding heart thinking. Oh boy, do we ever need to clean house in both the military and the media.

It has been reported that CENTCOM backed abandoning Bagram. Those articles are not hard to find.
Claims of dead civilians may be true, or may be propaganda. At the same time, abandoning a military airbase outside the city in favor of a one-runway commercial airbase with civilians all around would obviously put more civilians at risk. Was it, in fact, CENTCOM that decided to abandon Bagram? If that's the case, it seems odd that it would be "investigating" civilian deaths that occurred in an effort to defend the Karzai air base, the one that was said to have "little strategic value."

Great job on that 'aspirin factory' hit there, Xiden. Just like your boss Obozo - great at droning children and weddings, not so good at hitting the enemy.

There is bound to be civilian casualties when there are large explosions in a highly populated urban neighborhood.

WE understand that Washington DC is supporting the Taliban...not Americans stranded in Afghanistan ...it has been a disastrous 7 months of the biden/obams regime for Americans....and WE now know where WE stand...WE are on our own...our energy must be spent in electing a new congress...both house and senate must be overturned in 2022...and no mask mandates to force mail in balloting will work...in order for the swamp to RULE over US.. they must cheat to win...and that's not happening...

In this case the end would justify the means. Just call the collateral death victims heroes. They certainly sacrificed more than anyone else in the defense of Afghanistan these days.

Terrorists can't even enjoy a nice last "mostly peaceful" drive around the city before blowing up a bunch of people. Someone must be punished.

Civilian collateral damage cannot be entirely avoided during war strikes. The media force the military to own up to these deaths and the media dwell on them unnecessarily, even opening investigations, seeking to court-martial those who ordered the strikes. Can you imagine how many German civilians were killed during the allied bombing of Dresden? If the media had focused on such unintended, collateral deaths, the allies could never have won WW II.

When you fire missiles into a highly populated urban neighborhood that is loaded with buildings of rudimentary construction hoping that you are going to hit a target vehicle loaded with explosives, that when detonated will cause large secondary explosions, you have to expect a lot of collateral damage in the form of dead and wounded civilians. So the military had to choose, are the casualties going to be Afghan terrorists and civilians, men, women, and children, or people on the Kabul Airport, including both US citizen civilians and members of the US military?

From what I understand there is no shortage of civilian bodies that could be placed near the site to appear to be victims of the airstrike.

#4 has a point. This is CENTCOM’s AOR, yet nary a peep from them until today. Makes me suspicious.

The Austin Clown Show can't even kill the bad guys, correctly. No wonder they wasted Trillions of $$$ in Afghanistan. The Pentagon is corrupted, the DOJ is corrupted, the FBI is fubar'd, everything is totally screwed up. The Great Reset is upon us.
