82nd Airborne commander tells Brits to
stop rescuing stranded nationals

So much for the U.S.-U.K. alliance. The commander of the 82nd Airborne, in a story I hope is wrong, has reportedly told this to the Brits, according to the Washington Examiner's Tom Rogan: I understand that the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division has told the commander of the British special forces at the Kabul airport to cease operations beyond the airport perimeter. Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue has told his British Army counterpart, a high-ranking field-grade officer of the British army's 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, that British operations were embarrassing the United States military in the absence of similar U.S. military operations.

Comments:

The Brits didn't take this well.

Here's hoping the Brits told the command to shove his suggestion where the sun don't shine. This is pathetic. And joe takes off for Delaware. The biggest decision he will have to make is what flavor pudding cup he wants for his snack. My apologies to everyone who thinks American sucks. It is not "us". It is "them" We are so concerned for all involved. PS Don't blame me, I didn't vote for this idiot crew.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue needs to be court martialed. Remember Carter's disaster in Iran? Remember the hand full of US citizens who hid at the Canadian embassy for several months? Yeah, the Canadians were very kind to the USA. Does Sesame Street teach about helping other people?

General Donahue cannot defy the President's order if that's keeping our troops from actually rescuing Americans. If this conversation between Donahue and SAS actually took place, that's another matter.

"Why is Donohue telling the Brits to stop instead of getting on the horn with Biden and screaming at the dotard to let the 82nd Airborne do what it does best?" Because Donohue is a politician who is afraid of losing his job instead of doing his job.

FTA...'Whoever is ordering him [Biden] around is focused on news cycles, not getting anything done.' I hate to disagree with Ms. Showalter whose opinion I respect but she is completely wrong about this. Whoever is pulling Biden's strings doesn't care a 'rats.$$ about news cycles. Their main goal is to humiliate our country and destroy whatever good will we have with other Western countries. The more they can diminish us, the happier they are. I'll bet $5 that this past week all these prep school, ivy-league educated pukes have been high-giving each other on a job well done.

There is no such thing as a "high ranking field grade officer." Field grade officers (major to colonel) are like mid managers, higher than company officers (2nd lieutenant to captain) but lower than flag officers (generals). When bullets are flying and the risk of having your head cut off is great, I'd follow an officer from 22 SAS before any US general who made flag rank in the past 20 years.

There must be an explanation for this statement. Maybe the perfumed general is waiting for orders from the Commander In Chief before he commits. He'll be waiting a long long time. In the 1960s the 82nd Airborne was a pretty good outfit.

The Army of North Vietnam had Jane Fonda. Fonda was a willing useful idiot to them and their propaganda and had a grand old time gleefully bouncing up and down on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun used to shoot down American fighters. That image was catnip to the communists, but sickening to Americans, and the putrid image reverberated for decades. But not even those masters of propaganda, burning with hate for the U.S., could top the Taliban, which must have spent months brainstorming to come up with crap like this

A few days ago, on Aug. 14, I wrote about CNN's sudden about-face on Joe Biden's performance in Afghanistan. It was a shocking, stunning change; it wasn't half-hearted stuff. The Trump-hating news site ran a devastating -- and insightful -- analysis pinning the blame for the Afghanistan fiasco squarely on Joe Biden. Prior to that, the network had carried water for him, skewed the news, and engaged in sycophancy, to the point of ending up a target of James O'Keefe. Now it's The Atlantic's turn. Just this morning they ran three bam, bam, bam commentaries that also pinned the blame for the fiasco squarely where it belonged,

Brutal new rules have been drawn up by the Taliban which means women will face torture and death while targets on a 'kill list' could be murdered on their doorsteps. Harrowing reports have already surfacing from Afghanistan as the government collapsed which paved the way for the Taliban to seize power nearly 20 years after being driven out by the West. The Mirror understands there are claims of summary killings by the Taliban as fighters perform door-to-door searches throughout Kabul city. They are hunting down former officials, ex police, soldiers and anyone who worked with the former Kabul government - or with coalition forces.

WASHINGTON — Democrats with proven track records of winning tough districts aren't running for re-election. Republicans are enjoying early fundraising windfalls. And, as Donald Trump and Barack Obama both learned the hard way, midterm elections almost always break against the president's party. Joe Biden and his media acolytes call him Mr. Empathy and Mr. Compassion. His Afghanistan speech yesterday told a different story, and should end that phony spin forever. My takeaway was how cold, and hard, and compassionless Biden was as he sought to extricate himself from the catastrophe of his own making. He blamed everyone but himself for his failure, particularly the Afghan army. He smarmily assured terrified Afghanis left behind he'd now speak out for their human rights instead of actually protect them. He effectively told U.S. servicemembers their service was for nothing. It was appalling.

Joe Biden made a big deal about his rigid, hasty, ill-planned, badly executed Afghan pullout not being another Saigon, a reference to the disgraceful final pullout of the U.S. presence in Vietnam in 1975. (Snip for tweet, quote) The more he says it, the less true it gets. His dishonesty is palpable. He seems to think that by making this claim, the press will repeat it ad nauseum and it will become standard wisdom. As of this writing, Taliban forces have just entered Kabul, Afghanistan, the terrorist group’s leaders say that no force will be used to take the city, and both Taliban and Afghanistan government leaders say they’re working to negotiate a peaceful transfer of power to a “transitional government.” US Embassy staffers are being ferried from the Embassy to safety via Chinook helicopter after destroying records so that when the Embassy itself soon falls/is abandoned the Taliban won’t obtain information that could be used to hurt Americans or American interests. Instead of a troop withdrawal, 5,000 members of the United States Military are now headed to Afghanistan to oversee our retreat.

Afghan citizens face executions, forced marriages and other possible war crimes as the Taliban sweeps across the country, wrestling control from ineffective government forces as the U.S. troop withdrawal nears, according to U.S. officials and watchdog groups. The militants have seized territory at an alarming rate while Afghan government troops and their allied militias fail to put up an effective resistance – surrendering at times without even putting up a fight. The U.S. embassy in Kabul said Wednesday that it was receiving reports that Taliban members were executing surrendering Afghan troops and unlawfully detaining some members of the government, including military leaders, provincial officials and police officers.

Not since James Buchanan has America had a president who came so prepared by experience for the job, yet had so little clue how to do it.
