CNN: Admin factions start internal finger-pointing over Afghanistan

Original Article

Perhaps Joe Biden’s speech turned out to be more inspirational than first thought. His incessant finger-pointing over the incompetent and catastrophic bug-out in Afghanistan certainly got everyone’s attention, even for a period of time on CNN’s home page (via Twitchy): CNN later changed the headline to a more anodyne “Biden stands behind his decision,” but the theme has clearly resonated — even within Biden’s own administration. CNN reports this morning that White House “factions” are doing some finger-pointing of their own in an attempt to scrub the stain of this shameful episode off of them: Factions within the Biden administration are embroiled in a blame game

You really can’t blame Austin and Miley as they were following Biden and his crew’s instructions to do a 24/7 Sherlock Holmes style “woke” dragnet to locate all the covert and mysterious “White Supremacists” with White rage who are lurking within the US military. Since they were so engaged full time, they could not be worried about a far off place like Afghanistan. What Congress should do is call in both Austin and Miley to give an update on how many “White Supremacists” that they have found and dealt with by way of the Uniform Code of Military Justice?

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the U.S. will continue to evacuate all the Americans “they can” from Afghanistan, although the U.S. is currently unable to “go out and collect large numbers of people” from outside the Kabul airport. “It’s obvious we’re not close to where we want to be,” Austin said at a press conference at the Pentagon. “We’re gonna get everyone that we can possibly evacuate, evacuated and I’ll do that as long as we possibly can, until the clock runs out, or we run out of capability.” Austin admitted that U.S. capabilities to venture outside the airport are already limited, however. “I don’t have the capability

Ashraf Ghani, the Afghan president who fled his country as the Taliban gained the upper hand in the civil war against his government has surfaced in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). “The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation can confirm that the UAE has welcomed President Ashraf Ghani and his family into the country on humanitarian grounds,” announced the small Middle Eastern nation in a statement. In an address on Monday, President Joe Biden lambasted Afghanistan’s political leaders for having given up. The proximate cause of the Taliban’s victory has been the United States’ withdrawal and decision to stop providing air support for the Afghan military.

The Biden administration said Tuesday it plans to extend mask mandates for travelers on airplanes, trains and buses and at airports and train stations through January 18 amid concern over the highly-transmissible delta variant. “The purpose of TSA’s mask directive is to minimize the spread of COVID-19 on public transportation,” a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) spokesperson reportedly told Reuters. The current TSA transportation mask order had been set to expire on September 13. A CDC order put in place just after President Biden took office, requires the use of face masks to be worn by all travelers on airplanes, ships, trains, subways, buses, taxis and ride-shares and at transportation hubs

The Texas Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that Democrats who left the Capitol to deny the legislature the quorum needed for an elections bill can be arrested. The court also ruled that lower courts rescind temporary restraining orders that blocked the arrests of Texas House Democrats. The order is significant because it indicates that it is constitutional in Texas to require members of the legislature to return to the state Capitol, which can include compelling members by arrest, The Texas Tribune reported. “The legal question before this Court concerns only whether the Texas Constitution gives the House of Representatives the authority to physically compel

A quietly brutal speech, worth every minute of your time. Tom Tugendhat is a veteran of the British military who was stationed in Helmand province and is among the many, many people to take issue with Biden’s self-serving claim this week that Americans shouldn’t be asked to fight for people who won’t fight for themselves. They did fight, Tugendhat reminds him. In fact, they took 500 times more KIAs in the past six years than we did. The idea that Afghan troops failed because they lacked the guts rather than the logistical support to carry on is a useful deception for the White House

Congressional committees will soon start delving into the most catastrophic American foreign-policy action since Saigon. Perhaps they should take one lesson from Watergate — follow the money. To set this up, let’s start with a Washington Post report from late yesterday on the Biden administration’s belated attempt to keep the Taliban from accessing Afghanistan’s assets in the international banking system: The Biden administration on Sunday froze Afghan government reserves held in U.S. bank accounts, blocking the Taliban from accessing billions of dollars held in U.S. institutions, according to two people familiar with the matter. The decision was made by

It wasn’t supposed to be this hard. Democrats entered 2021 supremely confident, as they looked to leverage their narrow majorities in Congress into revolutionary changes in the country. The Republicans were dispirited and disunited. Donald Trump had been muzzled by Big Tech, and the January 6 riot inquiry promised weeks of bad headlines for the GOP. But after a promising beginning, Democrats on the Hill have faltered and stumbled badly. They managed to pass a pandemic relief measure via the reconciliation process, but their efforts to pass an infrastructure bill appear dead in the water

Before this is over, innocent American blood – civilians, not military – will be spilled because of Joe Biden’s hubris and ineptitude. If it doesn’t, it won’t be because his plan was solid and everything went okay. He’ll have just been really lucky. There appears to have been no plan to evacuate American citizens from Afghanistan. Those civilians are being told “you’re on your own” in getting to the airport. It is infuriating coming from the administration that came in saying the last President did not do his job in protecting Americans from a virus.

A full 60 percent said fair (12 percent) or poor (48 percent). The poll also asked who the respondent voted for in the 2020 election.

Joe Biden and his media acolytes call him Mr. Empathy and Mr. Compassion. His Afghanistan speech yesterday told a different story, and should end that phony spin forever. My takeaway was how cold, and hard, and compassionless Biden was as he sought to extricate himself from the catastrophe of his own making. He blamed everyone but himself for his failure, particularly the Afghan army. He smarmily assured terrified Afghanis left behind he'd now speak out for their human rights instead of actually protect them. He effectively told U.S. servicemembers their service was for nothing. It was appalling.

Although the White House had intended to keep Biden under wraps for as long as possible, the demand that he say something – anything – about the unfolding debacle in Afghanistan forced him to leave Camp David for a 20-minute statement, after which he refused to take any questions. The important part of what he said boils down to one sentence: We had to leave and everything that went wrong was Trump’s or the Afghans' fault. Biden is a craven coward, a feckless fool, a dismal dummy, and a man who will soon have more blood on his hands than a thousand Lady Macbeths.

In October of 2020, former White House physician Ronny Jackson raised a question that was on the minds of many voters: “I watch Joe Biden on the campaign trail and I am concerned that he does not have the cognitive ability to serve as our commander in chief and head of state.” Jackson, who had served under Presidents Obama and Trump, stressed that he was speaking as a “concerned citizen” rather than a physician. Inevitably, the media collectively descended on Jackson like so many flying monkeys, but he raised the issue again during Biden’s absence from the public eye last weekend as Afghanistan was being overrun by the Taliban.

There is some speculation floating around social media (mostly, but not totally, from the right) that Democrats may try to pull the 25th Amendment card on Biden to push him aside and bring Kamala Harris forward in an effort to save face in this moment of geopolitical crisis. It is some of the same speculation you saw several times when the Left called for members of the Trump administration to turn on Trump and invoke the amendment. However, the Democrats have put themselves into such a terrible position that they absolutely cannot get rid of Biden through this means, or
