Career staffers at the State Department 'warned' officials not to investigate the possibility that COVID-19 leaked from a Wuhan lab, fearing it would expose U.S. funding for gain-of-function research there, according to a new report.Thomas DiNanno, former acting assistant secretary of the State Department's Bureau of Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance raised the concern in a memo reported by Vanity Fair on Thursday. DiNanno wrote that staff from two bureaus, his own and the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, 'warned' leaders 'not to pursue an investigation

Here's a puke
From NYPost article June 3:
"As the group discussed what they could publicly reveal, Christopher Park, the director of the State Department’s Biological Policy Staff in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, told them not to say anything that could point to the American government’s own role in gain-of-function research, Vanity Fair said, citing documentation of the meeting."

No surprise at all. The State Dept. has been a pit of anti-American vipers for at least 40 years.

Oops. Too late. (Those of us who didn't know it for sure certainly suspected it.) As far as I am concerned, we have a meeting of enemies domestic and foreign. Sadly one of them is in the White House.

#12, the FBI in my opinion is the most corrupt, then the State Department. The cat is out of the bag. Fauci was paying for the reengineering of the COVID virus. Criminal charges should be applied to everyone involved. This means NIH and the State Department. In fact, they should be tried by the World Court and then you can throw Bill Gates in the mix. My bet, Fauci has lawyered up. The man that once was a king in the contagious disease world is now a murderer.

I believe if we knew the depth of corruption that exists in our government both elected and unelected, we would be devastated by its venality. This gain of function is something we see in movies when they attempt to portray evil on a scale that is unimaginable. Clearly, these “scientists” and bureaucrats have no moral compass or belief in God and are acting in the manner of a Dr. Mengele or some evil James Bond villain.
In my little cynical mind, there is one thing to think about. The left will try and pin this on President Trump. This may be the big distraction they have planned to take the focus off the audit results. They must dirty him up and what better way than to say he did not have a handle on this research and it resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths. Why do you think this surfaced at this time? We know democrats and what they are capable of and if they can use this against President Trump, they will. I pray that I am wrong, but what better way to politically destroy him and any thought of his running in 2024. God help us, these people are evil.

The Vanity Fair article linked within this one is full of anti-Trump sentiments. I guess now that Trump is gone, it’s “safe” to prove him right. The article blames his “xenophobia” for setting a toxic atmosphere that wouldn’t allow for an investigation into the virus source with any credibility. They are masters of spin, I’ll give them that.

There's something seriously wrong when we are giving money to a Communist country for spooky lab experiments. Why do we need to go all the way to China to find a lab?
No wonder the State Department officials didn't want an investigation that would "bring unwelcome attention to the U.S. taxpayer funds that were supporting the work." So our taxpayer attention is unwelcome. Clearly, there's more to the story.

So, we taxpayers fund a State Dept whose principal aim is the destruction of the country that pays them. If we are going to have a tsunami, let it wipe out DC first

Through the COVID crisis we are seeing an unvarnished view of who we have become.
The shipping container full of worms is that British people were killed, Indian people were killed, African, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Indonesian and so on. Yes we can accept that the evil communist red Chinese would do that along with the sacrifice of their own people, the same as sending massed troops into machinegun fire, to advance their lust for power and world domination. But we have to accept that we are no better, we did this. Either by lying down with pigs and discovering we are full of slop or by having become the pigs by participating in the mass global killing allowing our intramural political squabbles to manifest in a global attack on innocent lives. The very kind of act that has led to war in the past. Some speak of restitution from China, just wait until the rest of the world seeks restitution from the US,, we did this.
And we are seeing the cowardice of many self proclaimed "conservatives" "patriots" who have stood by without putting up any kind of meaningful fight. Granted we are up against the most astounding propaganda campaign in history and as a frog being gradually boiled, it's been difficult to see each and every step along the path as indicative of the final destination. The time for excuses is over.
Our government has become so bloated, dominated by ruling elites, that we have already become another data point of the historical pattern of disasters brought by big centralized government. The government of the people by the people of a bygone era did not do this, we did.
And I'll add an honorable mention to our allies who applauded and encouraged the take down of the power of individual liberty that stormed the beaches of Normandy. They have blead us ridiculed us and enjoyed our benevolence while throwing fuel on the fire of our destruction. It's not so funny now is it friends; who's going to save your hindquarters now that we have thrown in with the ideology of the enemy? You had better hope that the true American spirit survives and rises up.

There is never any honor among thieves. Clearly, they were all in on it and up to their necks in illegal activities including getting power bribes instead of actual cash, which can be traced. Someone wants to get rid of someone else ... thus the power struggle.
Sounds to me like the Chi-Coms are about to throw Dr. Fauci under the bus to get the bloodhounds off their trail. If they can smear Trump at the same time, that's icing on the cake. St. Anthony of Corona may have outlived his usefulness to them.

Chris Wallace was just on the FNC blaming Trump, as he said that Trump was President when the career bureaucrats in the State Department would have initiated their cover up attempt. Just goes to show how dishonest and misleading the partisan Democrat Wallace really is and if the FNC knows what is good for them they will get rid of Wallace ASAP. Clearly Wallace is an idiot saying that, as just about everyone who has been paying attention since Trump was elected knows that the career DC bureaucratic so-called “Deep State” was almost 100% anti-Trump and that Trump would have been just about the last government official in DC who those “Deep State” bureaucrats would have confided in regarding any cover up that they were initiating about what actually went on at the Wuhan Lab. and the COVID-19 virus.

The number of researchers that went on the record to cover up the possibility that COVID-19 escaped from a lab should be denied any and all funding for ten years at the very least. The people who pushed to have funding to do GOF research on COVID 19 in China, of all places, should get life in prison for this crime.
Who ever came up with the term “Growth of Function” for making a virus deadly to humans seems to have done it to conceal the true nature of the research. Without an explanation of what it is about, “Growth of Function” is meaningless and sounds benign or slightly positive. There is no hint that it is to modify a virus so that it can kill thousands of humans.

I briefly wondered why the CCP would bother to seek support for Gain-of-Function research from the NIH to the tune of a paltry $650K, over a number of years, much less. Why bother?
Control over NIH, that's why. If NIH tries to say or do anything the CCP doesn't want, CCP can simply release the info implicating the NIH in it!

As most people on this forum are probably aware, the US Government has created three levels of classification of sensitive data, Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret. There are many special levels above Top Secret known only to those who hold those clearances but Top Secret is defined as information that would present grave danger to US interests if it were made public. Work delegated to other countries would be done if it were not very sensitive if revealed as they anticipate a certain level of leakage. The stuff that should concern us is research done right here in the US on such nefarious topics as bioweapons, population control and who knows what else. Wuhan was harmful, mainly due to the idiotic overreactions of leftist governments, whether due to direct order or just plain fear and paranoia on their parts but in the overall scheme of things, it was minor. If information leaks or accidents above that level occur, then we really need to worry. There are undoubtedly hundreds of things above the level of Wuhan on which they are working. This is one reason that government officials have built vast underground facilities for themselves, anticipating the day when such horrors may be released. 1984 is Disneyland compared to what they could have running through their insane minds. We once thought that the FBI was an honorable law enforcement agency. We thought that the Supreme Court was a strong third branch of government. What else have they altered or corrupted?

AMEN, #22!!
We are all responsible because WE shirked our responsibility and we still do. I pray with you that we the people pull ourselves out of the fog we have been living in and take responsibility to the RIGHT thing before it's too late for peaceful resolve. America used to stand for good in the world because the people were good. I still believe there are a great many good folks here, and that we CAN reclaim the country that God once blessed. But the good people MUST act now. Otherwise, only evil will triumph and we will all be complicit accessories to their deeds.
