Former Vice President Mike Pence during a speech Thursday in New Hampshire blasted the policies of President Joe Biden, observing the president had gone from campaigning “as a moderate” to becoming “the most liberal president since FDR.” Pence delivered his remarks during the Hillsborough County GOP’s annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner, and as he railed against Biden and spoke optimistically about the Republican Party’s future, the former vice president only further added to speculation that he himself could be considering a run for president in 2024.

A Minnesota man was arrested Wednesday in alleged connection to the cold case murder of a 15-year-old Chicago-area girl found stabbed to death in a field nearly five decades ago thanks to genetic genealogy, authorities said.
Barry Lee Whelpley, 76, of Mounds View, was charged by the Will County State Attorney’s Office with murder in the death of Julie Ann Hanson, the Naperville Police Department in Illinois said. At a Friday court hearing, he waived extradition and is expected to return to the state within a few days.
The retired welder was 27 at the time of the alleged killing and lived within a mile of Hanson's home, police said.
For nearly a year, Jefferson Square Park in downtown Louisville, often called Injustice Square, Breeway, or simply “the square,” has been a place where multiple rots started.

The South Dakota Republican slammed the move, claiming it was part of the “radical left’s agenda.”
“You know, the decision was really arbitrary,” she said. “That’s why we’ll be appealing this decision, and the fight isn’t over. There wasn’t specific reasons that had credibility, and we call this an unlawful act to not make sure that we can conduct our celebration on July 3 at Mount Rushmore like we did last year.

SAN DIEGO — A federal judge on Friday struck down California's ban on assault weapons as unconstitutional but left plenty of time for the state to file an appeal. Judge Roger T. Benitez, who has favored pro-gun groups in past rulings, called the AR-15 rifle, used in many of the nation's deadliest mass shootings, "a perfect combination of a home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment."
"Yet, the State of California makes it a crime to have an AR15 type rifle," Benitez wrote. "Therefore, this Court declares the California statutes to be unconstitutional."
He praised the AR-15 as a rifle that should be formally protected by the law for its "militia readiness."
