Fauci Once Argued That Gain-of-Function
Research Was Worth Risking a Pandemic

Infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci argued in 2012 that the benefits of gain-of-function research were worth the risk of causing a pandemic through a lab accident. In a paper for the American Society for Microbiology, unearthed by the Australian, Fauci wrote, “the benefits of such experiments and the resulting knowledge outweigh the risks.” He also wrote, “it is more likely that a pandemic would occur in nature.” Gain-of-function research involves “juicing up” viruses to make them more infectious and deadly in humans.(snip)In 2012, Fauci,(snip)wrote that gain-of-function experiments were “important work,” well worth the risks.

Well, now WE get to countermand that insanity. Unfortunately, after the fact that his arrogance has led to the death of a lot of people. And he personally overrode the ban on this dangerous research to fund the 'gain of function research' at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. IMO, it is extremely likely that he knew exactly what caused this scourge from the first day it hit the news. He paid for it, he supported it financially (with OUR money), he approved of the risk. If there is one person most responsible, I think it would be Dr. Fraud. Of course, all the evil scientists who did this should each get a "Dr. Mengele" award for human suffering.....and the prize should be some time in prison.

"Gain-of-function research involves “juicing up” viruses to make them more infectious and deadly in humans." Why perform Gain-of-function research for any reason other than potential germ warfare? It does not appear to be research to produce antidotes against deadly viruses. Is Fauci a Dr. Strangelove?

I wonder how Fauci could swan around, appearing on Meet the Press, GMA, Today, giving daily press conferences (once even signaling his contempt for Pres. Trump with a hand gesture), throwing out a first pitch at a Nats game and other self-indulgent celebrity turns, knowing that he had very possibly aided in unleashing the pandemic on the world. Did he not care or believe we would never find out? His soul is in a very sad state.

Perhaps Herr Fraudci was specifically funding research that would “weaponize” a virus against those he (and others) considered to be a burden on society, those who were elderly and infirm? Perhaps it has had the exact impact he had hoped for. And as an added benefit, it allowed them to scare half of the American public into being a guinea pig for the largest ever human trials of a gene therapy/who knows what?

BRACKETTVILLE, Texas—The tens of thousands of illegal aliens that evade Border Patrol every month—hoping to slip undetected to large cities up north—are now being confronted by sheriffs who are starting to charge them for trespassing, evading arrest on foot, and endangering the life or health of a child. Seeing no solutions to the border crisis from the federal government, some counties are looking at all possible means to rein in the high-speed vehicle pursuits, trespassing, break-ins, vehicle thefts, and other crimes that are increasing in their communities. “I’m going to start here, locally. If we catch them, we’re going to start prosecuting these people that are trespassing on y’all’s property,” Kinney County

Unanimously ruling against a Chinese asylum claimant, the Supreme Court reversed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals this morning, finding immigration judges do not have to explicitly state that an asylum seeker’s story is not credible when finding against him. The court’s opinion in the case, Garland v. Dai, court file 19-1155, was written by Justice Neil Gorsuch. “The Ninth Circuit has long applied a special rule in immigration disputes,” Gorsuch wrote. “The rule provides that, in the absence of an explicit adverse credibility determination by an immigration judge or the Board of Immigration Appeals, a reviewing court must treat a petitioning alien’s testimony as credible and true.”

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. I’ll pass on the muskmelon. There are a few things that the low-testosterone, has-been Republicans like Paul Ryan and his ilk always miss when they warn the party away from Donald Trump. The most obvious, of course, is that this is Trump’s party now and they’re merely C-Team periphery players who should be seen and not heard. Yes, it’s an adjustment, but they’re going to get the message eventually. Another thing that they never get is that those of us on the Trump side of the GOP aisle enjoy life and have no interest in being dragged down again by the dour, constipated, Capitol Hill
