I totally agree with the concept, but...... Is 'incenting' even a word? How about 'incentivizing'?

I think it would be a very good idea for other governors to follow his lead. Paying people more to stay home than they will net by working is just one more way to destroy small businesses. If you look at the fact your pay is taxed and you are out transportation and other expenses to work, then a large tax free check for staying home is a very destructive policy.

Good idea! Stop the endless unemployment benefits. Stop the extra federal unemployment benefits. Stop all of the unemployment insanity! In Michigan, the state is proposing paying people $1000 to get a job and go off unemployment. STUPID idea! How about just stopping unemployment benefits. Stop giving money for nothing.

Punchbowl News released a new tracking poll Thursday showing a majority of senior Democrat Capitol Hill aides believe House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) partisan socialist agenda will not pass Congress. Pelosi’s push to pass a partisan socialist agenda while Washington, DC, is under one-party rule looks like it will fail as the “gatekeepers and, in many cases, the decision-makers” believe there will not be enough votes to get her wishlist through, according to the poll. Only 36 percent of the Democrat staffers surveyed believe there is hope to pass H.R. 3, which is the Democrats’ “big bill to lower drug costs.”

The Houston Astros received a New York welcome from Yankee fans this week in their first meeting since the Astros' sign-stealing scam was exposed – but according to a report, Houston allegedly complained to the league about taunting this season, which resulted in security curbing some hecklers. In the first of a three-game series on Tuesday, Yankee fan David Taub went viral for wearing an Oscar the Grouch costume – a nod to the Astros' use of garbage cans for signaling to batters. Taub told Sports Illustrated that he previously received confirmation before the game that he could wear the costume but

After criticizing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for excluding non-Fox media in the signing ceremony, Brock added "I spoke with a voting law expert who said it's like 1,000 paper cuts. It's not clear what any one of the components of S.B. 90 will actually do in terms of suppressing the vote. If you are someone who has paid attention to politics over the last decade, you understand the disparate treatment different administrations get when it comes to scandalous activity. In regards to Barack Obama, he literally had his appointees out lying about a terrorist attack that killed four Americans, and the media still claim to this day that his biggest scandal was wearing a tan suit. When it came to Donald Trump, him receiving two scoops of ice cream became a bigger story than Obama’s targeting of conservatives via the IRS. At one point, Ivanka Trump said something nice about Goya Foods,

When Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was outed last month for a secretive trip to Florida in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, her office claimed Michigan taxpayers did not foot the bill. What they did not tell us, however, is that Whitmer asked a group of wealthy Detroit businessmen to provide a private plane they share. Those businessmen have major dealings in and with the state of Michigan. “We wondered why she reached out to us instead of booking a private charter,” said one of the plane's owners, who exchanged his candor for confidentiality. “You can't tell a governor no. Who needs that kind of trouble?”

Earlier this week, PJ Media was the first to report that 12 Texas counties have declared emergencies due to the chaos the Biden border policies are causing. Since then, we have learned that four more counties have declared emergencies, bringing the total to 17. The additional counties that have or are set to declare emergencies are Davis, Medina, Terrell, Val Verde, and Live Oak. The land area these counties cover includes regions well away from the border and is larger than many whole states. The Border Patrol continues doing what it can, with no policy help from Washington, to stem the tide of human trafficking that has exploded across the border.

It is no shocker that in South Florida, a distinctly Indigo-hued segment of a red state, the local press leans left. As an example, after winning a Pulitzer Prize for exposing the graft and incompetence in the Broward Sheriff’s office following the Parkland shooting, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel backed the embattled Scott Israel in his bid to retain his office, because the last thing they would do is support a Republican candidate running for the position. Well, that same paper just turned hysterical regarding Governor Ron DeSantis. In a piece titled “The Strongman In The Suit Is FL Gov. Seasonal influenza, also known as “the flu,” visits America every year, similar to tornados, thunderstorms, heat waves, and snowstorms. As tracked by the CDC, over the past decade symptomatic flu cases ranged from 9 to 45 million cases per year in the US. Hospitalizations varied from 140 to 810 thousand, and deaths from 12 to 61 thousand, depending on the particular year, strain of influenza, and effectiveness of the vaccine. This year, “flu activity is unusually low at this time” according to CDC surveillance. Since late September 2020, they recorded only about 2000 cases, a minute fraction of the tens of millions of cases in past years.

The measure, already passed by the Texas House last week, now heads to a conference committee for the two chambers to debate amendments and settle differences until the House and Senate versions are identical.
