House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) said some GOP congressmen are “concerned” about Representative Liz Cheney’s (R., Wyo.) ability to fulfill her leadership position, in comments to Fox News on Tuesday. “There’s no concern about how she voted on impeachment. That decision has been made,” McCarthy said. “I have heard from members concerned about her ability to carry out the job as conference chair to carry out the message.” As chairwoman of the House GOP conference, Cheney is the third-highest ranking Republican in the House. “We all need to be working as one if we’re able to win the majority,”

Our House minority leader Kevin McCarthy was just fine with Trump-hating, Matt Gaetz bashing and conservative mocking Liz Cheney until she publicly challenged HIM. He is now afraid of her. Therefore, we see him making noises to oust her. Never forget. Kevin McCarthy lives with Frank Luntz - best buddies in a simple rental arrangement we are told. As Tucker says, a mighty odd situation with plentiful DC beautiful rentals now readily available. Luntz works for Democrat lobbyists AND as the go to person for Republican messaging advice by McCarthy. Kevin is on the same side of political values as Rep. Liz Cheney. She simply lets it show publicly!

Cheney is a big time globalist establishment and UniParty Republican, did you see her run over to essentially kiss Biden’s ring as he entered the Congressional chamber the other evening to give his do-called Joint Session of Congress speech, to a chamber in actuality that was well over half empty, with most Congress critters present being leftist or liberal Democrats, the wimpy Republican leadership, and of course all the RINOS. That action by Cheney should tell even the wimpy Republicans where Cheney stands politically.

McCarthy is some kind of a bad joke. A total failure. The fact that this weak-kneed, totally inept, gutless “leader” is running the Republican Party tells you a lot about this rino, worthless, two-faced party. He needs to go before Chevy. As long as he’s there, there is no voice, no opposition, no chance of getting our country back. None! If Trump can’t figure that out, he’s dead meat too. This whole thing is ludicrous. Nancy Pelosi is a terrorist! McCarthy is Mr. Peppers! That’s why everyday we hear and see things occurring that are Inconceivable, Unbelievable, and UpsideDown. And we wonder why the country is in a free fall??? Get rid of this clown!!!

Agree w/ #1 on Liz; and wonder if she's got a hand in on smearing Kevin McC--because it is based upon sleazy innuendo, and it does stink. Liz is not impugning Lunz-they're on the same side. Setting aside what complaints may well be valid against McC--this should not be one of them. In my experience, the major coastal cities East and West are high-demand destinations. These rent-a-room arrangements for transcontinental commuters are common, fairly informal, and innocent. There are people who effectively have kitted out their guest room w/ a micro and mini-fridge---and a schedule. People are begging for these little nests. They're not allowed into the rest of the home. Trusted commuters may supplement their payments to keep the pied-a-terre available w/ some small contributions or gifts that the owner would appreciate. Some digs are more lavish. That is all the more reason Not to allow unknown quantities into your home, as a 'rental customer'. I wouldn't do it. Yet, I would open my house to a friend in need, gratis. As such, there must be some level of trust or understanding, and shared friendships, to support and justify the risk of such a relationship. We're not talking bordello of blood here, frenz. IMHO, Some folks could do with a clean and tidy of their dirty minds, political scheming, and malicious tongues.

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina made an unusual splash with his response to Joe Biden's quasi–State of the Union address, declaring — with the weight of his life experience in the real Jim Crow era in comparison to today — that America "is not a racist country." It was warm, engaging, and strongly argued, prompting pundits to declare him a rising Republican star — from South Carolina, no less, the state whose black voters vaulted the then-faltering Joe Biden into the Democrat nomination spot. South Carolina, eh? Both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were absolutely forced to respond to that, which is unusual for a supposed president and vice president

A US federal judge on Wednesday blocked an order from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that prevented landlords from evicting their tenants during the coronavirus pandemic. "The CDC order must be set aside," US District Judge Dabney Friedrich said in a 20-page ruling. "It is the role of the political branches, and not the courts, to assess the merits of policy measures designed to combat the spread of disease, even during a global pandemic," the ruling said. "The question for the Court is a narrow one: Does the Public Health Service Act grant the CDC the legal authority to impose a nationwide eviction moratorium? It does not."

Facebook was justified in banning then-President Donald Trump from its platform the day after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, but it needs to reassess how long the ban will remain in effect, the social network’s quasi-independent Oversight Board said Wednesday. The decision to uphold the ban is a blow to Trump's hopes to post again to Facebook or Instagram anytime soon, but it opens the door to him eventually returning to the platforms. Facebook must complete a review of the length of the suspension within six months, the board said.

If Joe Biden wanted to spend massively in response to a nearly unprecedented public health emergency, he was elected too late. The conventional wisdom justifying Biden's new FDR-sized ambitions is that the country is in crisis, and he has to meet the proverbial moment, which can only be done with 13-digit spending bills. The truth is, though, that there is no crisis, and there is no moment. There's only an excuse, an occasion, and a procedure. The excuse is the supposed downtrodden state of the country such that only $6 trillion can save it from rack and ruin. The occasion is very slender Democratic majorities in Congress

Woke Coke has gone flat. Coca-Cola has paused its controversial diversity plan — that included penalties on outside law firms if they failed to meet racial diversity quotas — after intense backlash. The pause comes after the orchestrator of the plan, Coke’s former general counsel Bradley Gayton, abruptly resigned last month after less than a year on the job and as criticism of the quotas mounted. Some questioned whether Gayton’s policies violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which says employers can’t treat people differently based on their race.

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer who was convicted last month of killing George Floyd, filed an appeal for a new trial on Tuesday. The request, filed by Chauvin’s attorney Eric Nelson, alleges that the former police officer’s ability to have a fair trial was affected by pretrial publicity. It also claims that the court abused its discretion by refusing to grant requests for a change in venue outside of Minneapolis and a new trial. The filing says that due to the court’s failure to sequester the jury or “admonish them to avoid all media,” jurors were subjected to prejudicial publicity and “jury intimidation or potential fear of retribution.”
