Simon & Schuster employees demand company

Hundreds of Simon & Schuster employees are demanding the publishing giant not publish any books written by former Trump administration officials. The petition demanding the New York publishing conglomerate to stop treating "the Trump administration as a 'normal' chapter in American history" collected 216 internal signatures, representing approximately 14% of the company's workforce, and support from several thousand nonemployees, according to the Wall Street Journal. The petition singled out a planned two-part autobiography to be authored by former Vice President Mike Pence, which the publisher's employees alleged amounted to support for "racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, anti-Blackness, xenophobia, misogyny, ableism, islamophobia, antisemitism, and violence" in the online petition.

Editors are a dime a dozen and paid next to nothing to boot. Simon and Schuster's BOD is probably already preparing pink slips for the complaining employees as we speak - at least if they are smart they will. Nobody is going to get bent out of shape if a few publishing industry twits are fired - most people simply don't read anymore.

Mike Pence better have cashed the check already. They’ll cave, as an excuse to not “publish” a loser book (read that payoff) that they’ll have to stuff into gift bags for illegals to get rid of. I can’t see a whole lot of people caring what he has to say.

Give the woke liberals 2 options: 1. If you don't like it, quit! Option #2: Figure out the percentage of Simon & Schuster's profits that come from Conservative books. Lowerer the liberals pay by the percentage of Conservative book profit so that their conscience's can be clear from earning anything from those evil books. If they don't accept the pay cut , they must voluntarily resign since they disapprove of their employers morals.

Two Thoughts: 1) Who do they think would buy this book? Democrats won't support it, and he's burned his bridges with the Conservative Base. I would think the RINO market is a very niche market. 2) Why don't they do an anonymous survey of ALL their employees to get their feelings? Maybe they have a silent majority who still believe in diversity of thought and, more important, the financial power of conservative buyers.

Since Simon & Shuster employees want to get rid of half their customers, they should get prepared to work for half the pay, or be unemployed, the latter the preferred outcome.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo railed against the Census Bureau on his show Monday with his guest Michael Smerconish and intimated that the agency is actively helping Republicans increase their numbers in Congress. As mandated in the Constitution, the Census Bureau is tasked with tracking the nation’s population growth by state. It then appropriates the number of seats each state gets in the House of Representatives and that is directly connected to the Electoral College calculation. They stick to the numbers since they are part of the U.S. Federal Statistical System.Cuomo seems to believe there is something nefarious going on rather than straight-up demographics.

Former President Donald Trump can’t get out of testifying in a lawsuit brought by a group of protesters — since he’s no longer in office, an appeals court ruled Tuesday. Trump had appealed a Bronx judge’s ruling from 2019 ordering him to give a video deposition in a case brought by the protesters, who claimed that the former commander-in-chief’s staff assaulted them during a demonstration outside Trump Tower in 2015.Trump argued that he shouldn’t be made to testify in the case while he was in office. But, the Appellate Division, First Department on Tuesday said that argument is now moot, since he’s no longer president.

The letter has been condemned by Macron's government, who compared it to the failed coup by generals against President de Gaulle 60 years ago. However, far-right National Rally leader Marine Le Pen hailed the letter, which was signed by 80 other retired officers,
