Jen Psaki baselessly and disgracefully

“Believe your own eyes” — that was the prosecutor’s final admonition to the jury in the Derek Chauvin trial. And indeed, the evidence of their own eyes was likely the reason the jury members didn’t accept the defense’s case that there was “reasonable doubt” about Chauvin’s guilt. Instead, they convicted him on all charges. The same admonition should be governing the public response to the horrible event in Columbus, Ohio, that transpired just as the Chauvin verdict was being announced. But it isn’t.No less than the press secretary of the president of the United States went before the public Wednesday and all but explicitly suggested what had happened in Ohio

Jen Psaki is one prime example of an execrable prostitute, in that her performances and motivations give prostitutes a bad name. Sex workers can have honor, a center of value, quite independent of outside judgements. But Psaki demands we judge her in ways no center of self-respecting self can defend. And if you feel she needs that you defend her? Well... its a big club. And you're in it.

FTA: "What this means is that the officer found himself in the middle of a violent confrontation and had to act . . . within nine seconds." The article by Podhoretz is the best take I've seen yet, especially as he breaks down the action in seconds. The nine seconds was from the time he arrived on scene until he took action to neutralize the threat to a young B/F who was totally defensive, at least at the time she was being attacked by the deceased. The officer had about 0.5 second to make a "shoot-don't shoot" decision and by all appearances he made the right decision, which is difficult to do even in controlled, scenario-based, video/laser "shoot-don't shoot" training sessions back at office.

An election audit of the 2020 ballots from Arizona's largest county -- one demanded by Republican state senators, overseen by a purveyor of election conspiracies and live streamed by a pro-Trump television network -- kicked off on Friday.Earlier in the week, Maricopa County handed nearly 2.1 million ballots and nearly 400 tabulation machines over to the state Senate after Republican lawmakers subpoenaed the materials and a judge ruled county officials had to comply. In a last-ditch effort to block the controversial audit, the Arizona Democratic Party and the lone Democrat serving on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, which oversees elections, sued to halt the count Thursday evening.
