A giant container ship remained stuck sideways in Egypt's Suez Canal for a fifth day Saturday, as authorities prepared to make new attempts to free the vessel and reopen a crucial east-west waterway for global shipping. The Ever Given's owners say a gust of wind pushed it and its huge cargo of more than 20,000 shipping containers sideways in the canal on Tuesday, wedging it between the canal's sandy banks. The massive vessel got stuck in a single-lane stretch of the canal a few miles from its southern entrance.

Flood the canal with Ex-Lax.

Use dynamite to loosen the earth around the bow.

Take weight off, ballast fuel and cargo. Trick with a ship this enormous is that if you don't get it exactly right for buoyancy it could capsize (on its side) and then you're really screwed. Oh, and the Egyptians are in charge so first you have to get the bribes right. And the longer it's stuck the stucker it gets.

president * offered US help.
He’s such a (t)fool. By the time our engineers get woke, and he taxes everyone into oblivion, there won’t be any US know-how or money to help.

That must have been a Biblical "gust of wind"! There had to have been a canal master onboard. What is his " excuse"?

FTA: "The massive vessel got stuck in a single-lane stretch of the canal ..."
I can visualize the planning meeting - - - - "Gee, Ahmed, there's no reason for the canal to be so wide along this stretch. One lane is surely good enough."
Ahmed: "Yes, I agree - - but don't call me Shirley."

Don't think terrorists and or Somali pirates are watching this closely? Think again. A way to stop a very large portion of international trade is right up their ally. "Sure, we won't hijack a ship and block the Suez again ... for $10 trillion dollars".

I would put tractors on both side of the canal. Ones on the right, based on that picture, would be attached to the stern with a cable or chain. Ones on the left, to the bow. Let them pull at the same time.
Geez.

#5, it must have been the same gust of wind that blew Joe Biden over.

It must have been the same gust of wind that blew Biden up the steps of AF-1. I warned you about climate change. but did you listen? Nooooo.

As ships stack up like cord wood to make the passage through the canal...ships are making the expensive decision to go around the Horn of Africa, Somali pirates are waiting just like that Tom Hanks movie.

When big things get off the pavement, like airplanes, trucks, etc.
Move as much cargo (ballast) to the bow or stern causing the other end to rise slighty.
Dredge enough to insert large airbags (portable fuel tanks) inflated just enough to break the suction.
Move the end to deeper water with a few D 12 Catapillar tractors to do the dirty work.
A cave man could figure how to do it..

The knuckleheads were driving that 200,000 ton ship, which is 1,300 feet long at 13 knots in the 1,000 foot wide canal.
This is pretty seriously stupid, it seems to me. At lower speeds, the bow and stern wave forces from the bank are lower and more favorable.
