Never Trumpers Illustrate Why Loyalty

After the dust continues to settle on last year’s presidential election with Americans slowly accepting Joe Biden as the 46th president of United States, Julie Kelly’s polemic against the Never Trump movement may seem like yet another instance of a political writer getting it wrong. When Democrats occupy the White House along with the House and Senate, it seems like those writers who opposed Donald Trump won the argument. They can point to the results and claim they knew Trump and his populism would eventually lead to losses and relegate the GOP to their current political quagmire.

Comments:

As a person who was a 'tea partier' before there was a Tea Party, I don't believe Trumpism is completely new-- I think Trump was/is simply the leader needed to head up the Tea Party and effect change.

Here is the problem with your argument. President Trump did not lose the election. He won in a landslide. It was then stolen and eventually the facts and truth will be too much to hold back. Get ready for it.

He will be as unaccepted on 20th Jan 2025 (assuming he lasts that long - a near zero possibility) as he was the day he took his fraudulent false oath.

He will never be accepted as a legitimate president. He will always be known as creepy lying traitorous thief of an election that is senile and was never popular with any group of people, not even his own party.

Loyalty runs in all directions. It demands trustworthy behavior by leaders and followers. Does Mitch exude trustworthiness? Exactly what noble principles does one loyal to Mitch follow? You can extend that to any one of 545 political professionals in Congress, House and Senate. I supported RMN back in the day to the bitter end...I learned a bitter lesson then.

News flash for the never Trumper. Trump was the president that the base has been demanding for years. The base wanted/wants a president and other elected and appointed Republicans to deliver on their campaign promises. Defend the constitution. Exhibit some backbone and stop with the cowering thumb sucking. Bush was probably one of the nicest guys on the planet who never made an unkind comment. What did that get us? McCain, the most moderate and bipartisan republican ever was accused of all sorts of things. The base wants fighters. Period. Full stop!

Nikki Haley is a social-climbing political opportunist whose most deeply held political belief is Nikki Haley. This has been true since before she even entered the national consciousness, but she blessed us with a quick refresher course Thursday when she condemned President Donald Trump during a dinner speech to the Republican National Committee’s annual winter meeting. She’s not alone in doing so. Corporate media swelled this week with Republicans who, like Haley, spent years working for the president

It should surprise no one that Nevada has problems with election security and voter fraud, especially after the state mailed an absentee ballot to every registered voter this year whether he requested one or not, then received back more than eight times as many mail-in ballots as they did in 2016. That’s part of the reason Republicans in Nevada filed another lawsuit on Tuesday alleging widespread voter fraud and irregularities.

I have a right as an American, my freedom to not do it,"' Biden said in his ABC News interview with George Stephanopoulos. 'Well, why don't you be a patriot? Protect other people.' Trump brought up that he respected people's freedom, but he also encouraged Americans to get the vaccine and admitted some anti-vaxxers were part of his fan-base.
