The Senate confirmed Dr. Miguel A. Cardona to lead the Education Department on Monday. The final vote was 64 to 33. “There are no shortages of challenges ahead, no shortage of problems for us to solve. But by the same token, there are countless opportunities for us to seize,” said Cordona after accepting the nomination in December. “We must embrace the opportunity to reimagine education – and build it back better. We must evolve it to meet the needs of our students.” (Tweet)

I'm reimagining it back to a time before Communists began infecting the schools system...when we used to produce outstanding graduates as a matter of course....back when what they now call advanced placement was the norm. The problems yet another 'Doctor' refers to are of the lefts' own making and their 'solutions' only get worse! Outlaw the Democrat Party and bar its leaders from ever holding public office again!

#1, I could not agree with you more. Democrats are destroyers. Their ideas are absurd and our failing schools tell the story of the indoctrination of our youth. We are cranking high school graduates who could not compete with high school graduates of 70 years ago. We used to pride ourselves on the rigorous curriculum that challenged and engaged students. Now many of the teachers are lacking basic knowledge. Colleges and universities have filled their heads with so much social justice, it is all they know and is the lens through which they teach. My favorite teachers were the hard ones, the ones who demanded we do our best and politics were kept out of the classroom. Reimagine schools with real discipline, professional dress and comportment of teachers, challenging work, zero tolerance for politics inside the classroom, one standardized test per school year, A through F grading system, cut the fluff out of the administration, and teach the basics.

RINOs all--
It's ti,e to "re-imagine" the Republican party WITHOUT those persons!
The "school system" gets the kids at 3 or 4 years old for "early childhood education", Pre-kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Elementary, Middle School, and High School-- the INDOCTRINATION of their social and moral values throughout--
This is old now, but it was once said on the radio that kids need MORE of the FOUR "R's"
'Reading, 'Riting, 'Rithmatic, and RUSH'

our education system has already been re-imagined and the results were horrendously awful. how can he improve on that? simple answer: make it worse. the democrat party thrives on chaos and as long as they can perpetuate chaos they will continue to make everything that was "normal", abnormal. the cesspool in DC has been given a 4 year breather period to re-group after our President almost sent them to the showers. we have only one person who will conduct the greatest crusade in history to destroy the democrats and remove them from power and we all know who that person is.
Please God, Bless President Donald J. Trump and keep him strong for the challenges and tribulations which will come in the future.

Yeah, we need to "reimagine" education -- but what they mean is don't touch the unions, and don't put those Marxist training camps and slush funds called "universities" out of business.

Question 1: What is your plan to deal with school systems where zero children can do math and English at grade level?
Question 2: Will you fire any teacher who believes African Americans cannot be expected to do simple math and that getting the right answer is "white?"
Question 3: What will you do to address the root cause of the preponderance of unteachable students in our classrooms, which is an unstable home life due to fatherlessness?
There is no other meaningful discussion to have with this man.

Here's a big reimagining - rather than giving money to parents to use in whichever school they want (which they all fight), allow taxpayers who are funding the schools through their tax dollars to route those dollars to the schools they wish. I would happily route mine to local homeschoolers or to parochial schools that aren't factories of indoctrination. If I can opt to have a fraction of my purchases on Amazon routed to charities, why not have the option of having fractions of my tax dollars routed to alternative education?

I sent my children to private christian schools where love of God and Country were taught along with "real" math and history...this pandemic has been valuable to families because home schooling is flourishing and moms and dads are the main influence in the home...I'm not suggesting that for ALL families it has been good... but think about it...no teacher's union pawns to spout commie theory...the reality of day in and day out togetherness sparks the closeness WE once had with our families...I was raised during a war... and we studied as a family... no school between bombing runs... only my sisters huddled together in a corner...every adversity has an equivalent benefit...

FTA: "Zip codes" decide if you pass or fail in school! Get ready for the great shift in funding. One of his previous "recommendations" is that inner city schools should be "paired up" with suburban schools --- for sharing of staff, students, materials and of course expenses!
Hope those stupid "soccer moms" driving their electric cars over to the fire house to vote for Biden are happy their own kids are about to get screwed. Bigly.

I can reimagine education how about teaching reading, math, geography, reading time on a analog clock, cursive writing but do away with black culture teaching, gender studies and mind bending garbage. Paying to go to college just to learn remedial math from the fourth grade. I can solve the education problem in two seconds I don't have to 'reimagine' it.

Only materials that follow the doctrine will be used. Ultimate goal is to have an illiterate population who survives and is satisfied receiving handouts from the government. For the few of those who do go on to higher learning,
if 2+2=5, and one can get a degree regardless of intelligence, I want to see the Democrat leaders go first across the new bridge these "engineers" design.

Almost THIRTY years ago I had a school analog clock in my high school library. One day a bright student asked me the time. I pointed to the clock then observed her blank stare. I asked her if she wanted to know how to read the clock and that I would teach her the next day. She did and... brought a friend.
