About half of New York Times employees said in a recent internal survey that they don’t believe they can speak freely at the paper. In response to the statement, “There is a free exchange of views in this company; people are not afraid to say what they really think,” only 51% of Times employees responded in the affirmative. In company comments that accompanied the December poll’s findings, which were viewed by The Post, the 51 percent was noted as being 10% lower than the “benchmark.”(Snip) “Although the majority of us feel well-informed, many indicated that differing viewpoints aren’t sought or valued in our work,”

Just half??? That's half of them being truthful and the other half too afraid to be truthful. Everyone, everywhere is now afraid to speak freely. Free speech is so 2oth century.

Or #2 half of them never having been inclined to disagree are blissfully ignorant of what it's like not to agree with the communist controlled thought of our current culture.

The target was only 61% as a minimum for those who feel they can speak freely. To me that's low and should have been 90%. I wonder if NYT still owns its own press/printers with the labor force that would go with it. I can't think why else the expectation would be less than two-thirds. Leaving that aside though, it's clear that the firings of a few liberal voices has worried a sizable chunk of non-radicals in the ranks.

When you openly censor and encourage conservative thought and opinion, censoring or punishing anything or anyone not deemed the correct group think or even mildly critical of same should not be surprised. This is an entirely predictable consequence of political correctness run amuck.
Belt in buttercup. Its going to get MUCH MUCH worse. Remember, some animals are more equal than others.

My, my, the mean girls at the NYT are not going to like this! I can picture them whispering to each other trying to figure out who isn’t sufficiently “woke”.

In fairness at every job I have ever had, opposing view points were punished. You went the bosses way or not at all. Every corporation is like that. In one I was not permitted any political activity or public viewpoints as the business relied on government regardless of who was in office at the time.

I have to watch what I say at my place of employment. It's part of being an adult. When I am at work, I'm giving my time, intellect and energy to that employer. In return, I get paid.
What I do on my own time is my business (literally).

People all across America cannot speak freely at their places of work. They also cannot express themselves freely on their vehicles, in their yards, or in restaurants. That is because the left is very violent and will attack with mobs, usually from behind.
