And so the verdict is . . . Hallelujah. It’s over.
The acquittal of former President Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial is a fitting outcome to a case that should not have happened. Never before has a former president been impeached and put on trial, and it should never happen again. This was a show trial, an attempt by Democrats to humiliate Trump after his election defeat and force Republicans to side with him or against him. While the president’s speech before the Capitol riot was at times too angry and bitter, there was nothing in it that could reasonably be seen as intending to incite an insurrection,

Michael Goodwin, I suppose you're a reasonably smart man, and can read, etc., etc. Have you read the Constitution? It reads, "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors". Trump is now a private citizen. One can say that I'm too "simple" to understand, but I'll tell you one thing . . . I can read . . . and comprehend!!

Actually, I wanted to see Pelosi brought in to witness so I would have liked to see it run longer.

You know how unconstitutional it is when even Roberts won't play.

This impeachment of a private citizen was an embarrassing farce and made Democrats look like the power mad clowns that they are. Take away the tweets and some of over the top remarks and Trump was exactly the President we needed. He was extremely effective, not bought and paid for, and cared nothing about the Washington establishment. Of course they hate him. He couldn’t be controlled.

What's most troubling is that after Trump's lawyers exposed the outright lies presented by the Dems, the majority of senators still voted for impeachment. Think about it...these senators are supposed to be our "leaders"!

Sorry, Mike. I disagree - it should happen again and it should be Hillary for her illegal emails, Benghazi and the Steele Dossier and 0bama for a whole list of illegal actions beginning with Fast and Furious and ending with spying on the Trump campaign. Not to mention Eric Holder, Lois Lerner, Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, Commie-la Harris and Joe Xiden. The last two are in office but should be impeached for actions they took when they were out of office last year, and for the last 47 years for Joe.

Game Plan: Take both House and Senate in 2022 and immediately impeach Biden for bribery by the Chicoms and Ukes. Toss out Mitch and McCarthy, install Cruz and Jordan as replacements.

It was NOT a "second impeachment trial'. It was an unconstitutional, illegal, fraudulent political farce.

The argument Van De Veen could have presented was the question, is Donald Trump a private citizen then this is an illegal gathering and procedure. If you wish to proceed and prosecute then admit that he is the President then produce the case then vote. There's a reason for this madness we all know it. The left and Pelosi knows Trump was not defeated and Joe Biden is the private citizen in this case. The left is trying to make themselves feel good by lying. This was their shot in the dark but there will be more while Trump did not concede and sits in Mar Largo Florida with his family. Nancy Pelosi and all the useless politicos stay behind wire and fences prisoners unto themselves.
