Several Republican senators said Thursday that House impeachment managers failed to persuade them to convict former President Donald Trump for allegedly inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The prosecution finished presenting its case Thursday — and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said afterward he believes Democrats are as guilty as Trump of using fiery language in front of large crowds.Paul, who opposed Trump’s effort to toss out swing-state electors on Jan. 6, said Democrats have been “lucky” that their remarks didn’t translate into worse outcomes.

Does anyone have confidence that the Republicans will vote to acquit? If the actions of these democrats do not convince you that they have been driven mad with desire to destroy President Trump, you are not paying attention. These people are not normal.

Obama said, "When they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun." And then James Hodgkinson brought his gun to a baseball field, and attempted to assassinate dozens of people: Reps, Senators, staffers, and at least one young child.
IMPEACH HIM!!!!

1-no
3-there's only four
Rand-Trump's NOT as guilty as Marxists. He NEVER incited violence. The Marxists DID incite violence. There's a difference.

"largely unmoved"
I found that wording kind of strange, myself. Were they attending a legal proceeding or were they watching some movie?
I mean, they were not expected to pull out their handkerchiefs and start sniffling, but, anyway, they got some of their facts wrong - not good in a legal proceeding.

This article is a joke, right? At the end this will end up on partisan lines, at least half the "turncoat six" will not vote "guilty". Impeachments are "morality plays" played out in political terms, not legal mumbo jumbo. For Trump it appears to be a lost opportunity...but, he litigated a political battle, again. That ain't WINNING!

Nobody, including the Democrats, believes he'll be convicted. They just want to keep harassing him and keeping such actions on the nightly news. The process is the punishment. And, as an extra benefit, it takes attention away from all the disasters that are and will be happening from Biden's decrees. Like...
Gas prices shooting up.
Jobs destroyed.
Normals getting canceled from social media, jobs, etc.
Military standing down and getting infested with political officers.
Vaccination screwups and continued lockdowns.
LGBTQXYZ insanity.
Etc., etc.

The Democrats Trail of Trump is a kangaroo court.
I am glad that 44 decent, honest Republican Senators see it as a horrible kangaroo court.
It reminds me of the Moscow Bolshevik death trials.
Trump won the 2020 election.
It was stolen from him thru fraud and fake ballots.
Trump should have never, never conceded.

AND... in keeping with the saying..."every adversity has an equivalent benefit"... now WE can impeach obama and Clinton for their crimes against humanity...they are not office holders... well... obama is installed behind the curtains in the Oval Office telling feeble Biden what to do...but Clinton is still abusing young women at the pizza/gate restaurant along with podesta... let's turn up the heat....let America see what DC is all about... sodom and gomorrah is alive and functioning in Washington DC...I will risk turning into a pillar of salt by looking at the slim...I wonder if Leslie stahl ever read the Bible...

I could barely finish reading the article. These Republican senators, with very few exceptions, are spineless cowards who make me want to vomit. Sorry for the grotesque choice of words. But Rubio, the Democrats made a good presentation? The South Dakota moron, whose name I've already forgotten, the Democrats made a good point that if Trump loses again in 2024 there will be more violence? So he agrees that Trump voters are violent? And other Republicans praising the Democrat crap show as effective.
Words cannot describe how very pathetic the Republican party is. These senators are the lowest form of scum. They are even lower than the Democrats, because they should know better and they try to play both sides. Democrats, as crazy and loathsome as they are, at least stand by their beliefs. Any Republican senator that had the audacity, the temerity, the gall to say the Democrats made a good presentation should be primaried. Get them the hell out. And Rubio would be my first choice. Matt Gaetz are you listening????? Kristi Noem, primary that POS senator who thinks we Trumpsters are all violent. They all must go if we are to save this country. We need fighters for the people, not corrupt deep staters lining their own pockets.

It is very clear that the election was stolen from President Trump. We, the people, are very affected by this because we only used to get to vote every 4 years. From now on we will have fraud, Puerto Rico and DC as states, packing the courts, and $5 gasoline. The Republican Party is on the canvas already but if wants to disappear they can follow Dr Cassidy, Nicky Haley and Liz Cheney. President Trump is beloved by US because he made our lives much better. He opened our eyes to globalism and filled our 401ks. Best President in ages, a man in full serving his country.

I apologize for sounding flippant in my comment above, but I really do hope there is a real investigation as to why and how such a riot happened in the first place on January 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C. Lots of people are wondering why there was not more police presence that day in D.C. for such an immense crowd of people (estimated between 500,000 to one million), many of them the young and the old. I know I am being repetitious, but why can we learn that Martin Luther King had HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE (rightfully so) at his August, 1963 "I Have a Dream Speech" where the crowd was estimated at only 250,000 people. Yet for a crowd more than twice as large (when today there so many more avenues for intelligence) you question why weren't those people better protected so that no one would have lost their lives. I understand that one woman and two men had medical emergencies (stroke and heart attacks). Understandable, because they felt threatened in that size of a crowd with no obvious crowd control to protect them and their families and make them feel safe. And if there was good security present, then police could have separated those carrying sticks and poles for breaking windows in the Capitol building from those who were walking around inside the building, gawking and taking selfies.
Again, those deaths never should have happened, whether from trouble makers who infiltrated the MAGA group or regular citizens who got their fears raised by the behavior of those who came to make trouble.
