Several Republicans along with lawyers for former President Donald Trump have called his second impeachment many things: Bogus, ridiculous, insane, petty, improper, and illegal. Democrats need to hear one more term, however, and they need to hear it from someone specific. The term is “unconstitutional” and it needs to come from Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, according to former independent counsel Ken Starr, who knows a think or two about impeachment proceedings since his probes of President Bill Clinton lead him to be impeached in 1998.

Does Dread Justice Roberts also live in his basement? Now that the Lion is in residence in Mar-a-Largo, there are no adults left in D.C. Every day resembles Part III of Atlas Shrugged. I thought with electing Hank Reardon we would have a different ending, but it looks like we're headed for the chaos of collapse. What to do? Who is John Galt?

It is quite obvious that this is not constitutional when the chief justice Rat Roberts refuses to reside over this sham. That is the very reason he said NO because it is unconstitutional. The A@@hole should have come out and said that but he's no better than garbage.

When the Chief Justice refused to preside over this farce, he had the opportunity to indicate then that it was unconstitutional. He chose to be quiet. Why? As before when his Court decided to forego hearing the case regarding election fraud, he chose the path of least resistance. A man of integrity does not operate in this manner especially in his position. It is his job to make the tough decisions and protect our founding principles. Can you even imagine Justice Scalia being silent on such an important matter? Roberts is a moral coward who fears something or someone. I would think anyone who reveres the Constitution and Rule of Law would welcome any opportunity to defend and protect it, but that’s just me, one of the Deplorables out here in flyover country who actually believes in keeping a sworn oath. The man is weak. Don’t expect anything from him and you won’t be disappointed. Frankly, they are all disappointing especially the last three. When the pressure was on they chose to submit to than actually defend the right of Americans to bring a grievance to the highest court in the country.

Roberts is play Pontius Pilate and trying to wash his hands of this mess by refusing to sit in Judgement.
Roberts is not known for courage.
He cheated on the Obamacare decision and changed the law to a tax.
He quaked in fear of the the hearing on the election cheating.
Now he thinks he can hide from the duty of the Head of SCOTUS to sit at an impeachment.
Instead of saying outright that it is a farce and unConstitutional.
Roberts biggest problem is a lack of Courage.

Roberts should go back and clean up all his messes, including declaring Obamacare, the first impeachment, the second impeachment, the stolen election, executive legislation, censorship, all unconstitutional. Roberts decided to become a left wing whipping boy, and surrendered everything. Roberts should do his job, or retire.

"Starr: Chief Justice Roberts Should Make Clear Trump Impeachment Trial Unconstitutional"
Seriously, Kenny?
Do you really think a Court that has no issue with un-Constitutional elections
would take issue with un-Constitutional Impeachments?
Here's the reality...
The US Government is completely irregular.
As in unregulated.
As in Out of Control.
No Limits.
They are going to do Whatever They Want.

Don't count on Roberts the Supremes are part of the dark side of the swamp.
The outcome of the kangaroo court is already predetermined the democrats and republicans already have their votes cast they will impeach constitutional or not they know it. Trumps attorneys should show up but not the President to this feeding frenzy by this mob. To go one further don't give the Washington swamp creatures the opportunity to cuff you and frog march you to jail as their political prisoner it could happen. Stay home Mr. President.

It should be pretty clear to everyone by now that the Dems have something on John Roberts and have used it more than once.
Not sure if it's his improper adoption of two kids from Ireland way back, his close relationship with Judge Souter or even a trip or two on Epstein's plane. But it's clearly something.

Number 27 is correct. I heard John Robert and his wife got their 2 children from Jeffrey Epstein, the children were from Wales originally, brought to Ireland, then “adopted” by Roberts. Hopefully, we will find out the truth about this soon. Roberts is very compromised.

I keep asking myself why people posting still believe that the United States of America still exists. No, America died weeks ago. The concept as to what is constitutional and unconstitutional is irrelevant now and is no longer taken into consideration by those who rule. So Chief Justice Roberts is merely an empty robe existing only at the pleasure of those who rule.

Another site commenter stated the chief justice did irreparable damage to the balance of power and minimized the judicial in this one irresponsible non action. Witness the lawsuits against attorneys for presenting evidence in a court of law, state law bar threatening to revoke licenses or law schools threatening to revoke degrees both without merit or due process for performing their responsibilities under oath by representing a client or presenting case evidence they do not want defended or evidence exposed. To "have your day in court" will forever be only a catch phrase.

Why do people on these boards continue to attribute Robert's behavior and rulings to someone having something on him? That lets him off the hook. Roberts is weak, lacks courage, lacks character, wants his court to be seen as neither conservative nor liberal, and decides based whose turn it is to win, not on the Constitution. It is as simple as that.

If we could apply a dose of logic, here is what should happen.
Chief Judas John Roberts is recusing from his duties, so his replacement should be the senior associate justice of the Court to preside over the process.
That would put Clarence Thomas in the presiding officer seat, and he could dismiss charges as being unconstitutional.
Case closed.

Say what you will; Justice Souter, the midnight park cruiser, at least had the personal integrity to step down from the court once they started pulling his strings. Chief Justice Roberts, who appears to have been photographed in the water with Bill Clinton and one of the Podesta brothers on Jeffrey Epstein's Pedo Island, not so much.
