WASHINGTON—President Joe Biden is set to announce a wide-ranging moratorium on new oil and gas leasing on U.S. lands, as his administration moves quickly to reverse Trump administration policies on energy and the environment and address climate change. Two people with knowledge of Biden’s plans outlined the proposed moratorium, which will be announced Wednesday. They asked not to be identified because the plan has not been made been public; some details remain in flux. The move follows a 60-day suspension of new drilling permits for U.S. lands and waters announced last week and follows Biden’s campaign pledge to halt new drilling on federal lands and end the leasing of publicly owned

All those displaced oil field workers need to learn to write code.

Our governor here in West Virginia--land of coal, oil, and natural gas-- just approved a 200 million project on windmill farms. Gee, that didn't take long. Will this phase out coal, oil, and natural gas? Will it provide augmentation? Or will we be subjected to blackouts like California? Time will tell.
I'm waiting for the ministry of energy to introduce solar panel power for our fighter and cargo jets. What could go wrong?

If this was done after an "intelligent" review with logical causes, one could at least grit his/her teeth and go on. This one is not only unintelligent to be signed by an incompetent, it lacks every aspect of logic. It is only and totally pandering to an illogical entity of enviro-wackos who are out to sell our energy souls to Mid-eastern kings and monarchs sitting in castles built on sand. The primary intent of these magnates and our own home "groan" magnate is to destroy US at any cost.

windmills and solar panels? where are they made, again?
Another nice gift from Biden and the Dems to Communist China.
You cannot switch over to these silly "clean" forms of energy production by flicking a switch.
Forget about build back better, they're doing tear down and destroy rapidly. wreckers. People will begin to feel the pain. Gas prices already rising. Next year's heating oil will be outrageous.

Helping the Saudis and the Russians by intentionally running up the international price of oil.

All those solar panels and wind turbines better be made of wood or steel since plastic is an oil by-product.

I sure am glad that most public oil land in Texas is owned by the state and not by the federal government. The other oil producing western states are not so lucky.

The problem is that our US Congress long ago abandoned its responsibilities to do or be anything except acquiesce to the courts and executive branches. Do your damn job people!

Biden isn't calling the shots here. I doubt if he has ever given a thought to oil drilling on public lands. We don't know who is in charge in this Manchurian candidacy.

I don't know about you - - but I miss the days of $4.85 per gallon gasoline.
I'm glad they're coming back. Ahh, nostalgia!

Drill, Texas, drill. We've got lots of oil and gas. Think we'll just keep it here.

Clickbait, inaccurate heading but what else can be expected from the AssPress? Drilling has not been paused, new leases for oil and gas drilling have been. But don't worry, current drilling will stop when Bden works out a deal with the Saudis with the proper cut for the Big Guy. I guess it's time to park the cars and buy a motorbike that gets fantastic mileage.

Easy, #2. Those jets just need to stay above the clouds and never land.

It looks like he also prefers to continue to transport the same oil via the more expensive and environmentally riskier rail tanker cars of Burlington Northern RR, a Berkshire Hathaway company owned by Warren Buffett. What a surprise.

We all need to demand the Biden issue an executive order to ban all travel by airplane for government officials and employees. Now that we know Zoom calls can be used to run business and we can everything virtually, it's time to ban the carbon spewing airplane in order to save the planet. I'm only half joking on this. I'd love to force Biden to deal with a petition that demanded this.

What part of public lands doesn't Biteme get? It's the taxpayers land, not the government's. If taxpayers want oil drilled on their land, then drill. Public lands won't be very public if no one can afford to travel there to see them because the price of fuel is too expensive.
