Have you checked your social credit score lately? You might want to. Mine seems to have taken a nosedive this month. You might want to see how yours is doing.Everyone knows what a credit score is. But social credit scores are new. They’re the latest corporate import from Communist China, where government and big business monitor every citizen’s social views and statements. And they’re the latest form of cancel culture in this country, as corporate monopolies and the left team up to shut down speech they don’t like and force their political agenda on America.

It's been time for a while now. I just hope it's not too late.

Good advice. It is a shame there are not more Republicans like Hawley. He is an outstanding example of how to stand against the oppressive corporate bullies who believe they are entitled to decide what speech is good or bad. I can remember as a high school student having it pounded into my head that all speech should be heard regardless of merit. There were rousing debates in class over this but we understood what free speech meant, even the speech we thought to be vile should be protected. I doubt that any high school student has the same experience today. They have been trained to be judgmental and are fine with censorship. How many of you heard, I don’t agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it? That is probably heretical now, but in my day, it was the basis for freedom of speech.
Those of us who grew up in that time must make it a priority to discuss freedom of speech with young people. They have been conditioned to be driven by feelings. The false moral superiority they champion is oppressive. In a free society we should have no expectation of never being offended. We are different with different experiences and opinions, we cannot expect mind numbing sameness. Group think is oppressive and is a threat to freedom of thought. We must speak up or we will be silenced by those who reject freedom. The younger generation is so enamored with their sanctimonious right to attack any opposition that they willingly ignore that they are actually the oppressors. While today their opinion may be protected by the group, there may come a time when it is not.

I grew up in a country when words such as these would have invoked a "thank God that can't happen here in our free country" reaction. We would have never dreamed these words are about what we would let this country become. A voice that typifies what an overwhelming majority of Americans would have once shared, is now the proverbial voice in the wilderness.
I still have faith in the experiment in individual liberty and I do believe that the communists have overplayed their hand. I don't believe that we have figured out how to effectively fight back in unison. As we sort that out I do believe that isolated push back such as what Mr. Hawley has done can help serve as building blocks to an eventual turnaround back to liberty.

Amen, Josh. But I hope that you have beefed up your personal security for they will surely come after you. And then they will come after us.

I tried to comment on LifeSite News and Townhall recently through Disqus and discovered I was "signed out" when I had never signed out. Now I can't get back in.
Have I been targeted by Big Tech?

So far the most ridiculous example is Justin Thomas, the pro golfer who called himself a gay name after he blew a shot. (pun intended) When you can't look in the mirror and cuss yourself out, you are truly living within reach of Big Brother. Yet the "N" word for rappers and NFL players is perfectly good for the black ones.

This is exactly how government goodies will be divvied up in the future. It serves as the basis for those "death panels" that won't exist. If you give more to government than you take...sure, you can be treated.

Hawley’s message is clear but he may want to consider that we elect people to represent us in Washington and they are the only voice we have. I see very few of them stepping up to this challenge. Josh may want to speak to his co-workers.

Based on personal information from my 14 grandchildren... I'm not ready to roll over that all is lost...they are sickened by troops in DC and regretting their vote for the democrats...it's a start... they continue to ask about my experiences in Europe during WWII and their great grandmother throwing rocks at the gestapo when she was attacked on our farm...and WE all know what their intent was...after the war...she stood on the deck of our ship entering New York harbor and cried at seeing The Statue of Liberty... she was some kinda woman!!...and... BTW she didn't need vagina hat wearing so called oppressed women to show her the way...

Will Rogers used to be one of my favorite political commentators. His material just doesn't work today. We are not amused by some of it.
One of his jokes went something like this: Whenever you become frustrated or angry about fraud, waste, and abuse in the government, just take comfort in the fact that at least we are not getting all the government that we're paying for.
I miss Will, Al Capp, and Walt Kelly. Their generation opposed totalitarianism and believed their sacrifice in WW II assured the preservation of the Constitution. We have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves. The blessings of liberty are no longer secure for ourselves or our posterity.

I think it's been too late for a long time now in the US what with the leftist control of the schools, media and culture. Those probably have more importance shaping the left wing fascist culture we now have than the government does.

#9, I hope you are documenting the stories about your mother for your grandchildren. Those stories are invaluable on many levels, not the least of which is the level for appreciating freedom.

That is a very well-written article. If there is a real plan, I'd like to know what it is. My ability to "support" heroes like Hawley is simply to say "yay." Sorry. I have no money and not much health to offer. Apparently yay doesn't do any more good than voting, as we have seen. In my opinion, America is over and I hope the executions are swift and painless. I'm glad I'm so old I won't be around long to see how it goes.
Meanwhile, I am withdrawing from all societies, organizations, retailers, friends, and relations who supported the coup unless I need something to maintain life. That's all I can do.

It's not simply time to stop the muzzling of America when you are in the midst of a communist take-over and the social media muzzling is just a prelude to wholesale snuffing. Every Normal American knows deep down what it is time to do but still we watch and wait. The author seems to think fighting a social media war is the most important thing facing the Normals today and the timid or complacent seem to agree.
