The FBI and prosecutors at the Justice Department are debating whether to decline to charge some of the MAGA rioters who stormed the United States Capitol on January 6 in an attempt to derail President Joe Biden's certification. There is concern among DOJ officials that bringing charges against all of the estimated 800 rioters who ransacked the Capitol building could flood the local federal courthouse in Washington, DC, with cases. There have been internal discussions about forgoing charges against those who were not involved in any violence or vandalism but were simply trespassing or 'going along with the crowd,'

Mostly peaceful, then, with only the Antifa firestarters causing the violence?

Truth! You could see in the videos that few were violent.

Yes, 1, a mostly peaceful insurrection where almost no one did anything violent or threatening except the anonymous cop who shot an innocent woman point blank in the chest with no warning.
Then we still have Seattle and Portland under near nightly siege still getting smashed and burned and so on and not a word on that from the Just-For-Us Department.

Well that is about the only common sense thing I have heard from the Justice Department in decades.

They never had any real intention of charging innocent people. It was all a part of the ruse. They have to have a reason not to charge antifa after all.

If they were not violent and simply trespassed, why are you calling them "rioters" who "caused havoc"?? Stupid manipulative media

Well that's mighty big of them. Trying to placate the rest of us from tearing them to shreds. Does that include a box of chocolate chip cookies for every "insurrectionist?"

What some enterprising book author should do is interview every one of those people who illegally entered the Capitol building as to why they came to DC and did that? Chances are most of them would say that they were under financial distress from losing their jobs or because of COVID related lockdowns in their home States that put their small businesses or employers out of business. Chances are also because of the time lines involved that none of them actually heard Trump’s speech at the White House, as when that speech was still going on the mob that they were mixed up with was already unlawfully entering the Capitol building. Surely their comments would make for an interesting book.

The DOJ and FBI get right on cases charging Republicans. Democrat cases, no response, no documents, no investigators.

you mean to tell me that they know the identity of every single person who attended that event and who went into the building and who didn't and only stayed outside? preposterous! but if that's the case why aren't they prosecuting Antifa and BLM as well as the other groups who did enter the building and cause damage? this whole thing stinks, which is nothing new for the demcoms.

Just walking into this government building, especially with the Capitol police just ushering them in.....no crime at all.
And yet, they murdered Ashli Babbitt for NOTHING, and her killer is not even known to us.

They won't be able to prove trespass, and they wont be able to give hundreds of people a speedy trial. Being in the building is not trespass if the officers allowed them in, or did not have a barrier to stop them.

Poster #15 has it. That discovery thing would reveal too much about the CP, the congress, fbi, doj, antifa, and others.

Like with the Bundy family, other ranchers and Pete Santilli--if it ever went to trial the court would not allow them to present direct evidence of innocence--such as video showing the police letting them in. This is why I was so upset back then, the FBI murdered LaVoy Finicum--a man who never even had a parking ticket and was on his way to see the sheriff in a neighboring county. Police in DC shot Ashli Babbitt as well, she was unarmed and no threat, but they will face no consequences. We are beyond the slippery slope my friends.

If Ashli Babbitt was other than white, do you think there would have been a few more "demonstrations" (with violence) happening? Just asking for a friend.

I detect an attempt to cover the fact that the Justice Department has a solid record of tolerance for the misdeeds of democrat rioters and protesters. So the next time patriotic Americans point this out, the corrupt DOJ will be able to claim that they let the Trump people off the hook for the insurrection at the capitol. Sorry, but the trespassers should have known better than to get caught up with the rioters. Real law abiding citizens show respect for the property of others, and a charge of trespass is, in my opinion justified--but the penalty should not be willful shooting at close range.

Ransacked? Hardly. I’d say that burning down a church or a police precinct is ransacking. Breaking a window or two and sitting in some congressional poobah’s chair is not ransacking.
How many rioters were rounded up during all of the antifa/BLM riots of the last year? Bet it wasn’t anything close to 800.

The Radical Left got its "Crisis" to beat Donald Trump over the head with. The protesters will be turned loose, just like the Antifa and BLM rioters and looters.

Correction those were not MAGA rioters that was Antifa and the 'catch and release' was used to let them go to riot again another day. Trust me there were some dangerous people they released.

If the Capitol Police removed the barriers and held doors for them, they were not even trespassers.
