Germans who refuse to quarantine after being exposed to Covid will be held in detention centres under new rules prepared by regional authorities. The eastern state of Saxony has confirmed plans to hold quarantine-flouters in a fenced-off section of a refugee camp set to be build next week. The regional state claimed that the facility will only be used for people who have repeatedly flouted lockdown rules around self-isolation. Baden-Württemberg in south-west Germany will use two hospital rooms to detain repeat offenders, who will be guarded by police.(Snip)Legal experts told Die Welt that state governments have powers to detain

Yes, of course, put them all together so they can network and plan... America is still being called racist for putting potentially dangerous foreign nationals and their immediate kin in "detention centres" during an existential world war. Perhaps, "jihadists" can be next. What's that? Racist?! What race is "jihadi"? Oh, so sorry. Never mind... What about "vibrant diversitists"? Just asking... Can "Covid Denyers" be "vibrant diversitists"?

I have a German DIL and am fairly familiar with the thought process and culture of Germany having been there several times. The irony of this move relative to their historical actions toward Jews and other perceived inferior humans is lost on the average German who will never admit to any wrong doing that may reflect back on their family's past during WW II and who desire above all else the appearance of cultural unity regardless of the possibility of transgressing on general human liberties and individual rights. This is the psychological course of action our new Brave New Leaders will follow as they formally institute paths of intimidation and the cancelling of individuals and groups that think may impede their insatiable will to power. I anticipate this website will be shut down at some point so I wish you all well, God's grace and the fortitude to weather what is about to descend on out nation and the world. May God Bless you all and protect us and our loved ones!

Wow, that's a good look, Germany! #7 you crack me up! And #5 you said "the average German desire[s] above all else the appearance of cultural unity regardless of the possibility of transgressing on general human liberties and individual rights." I know Germany, and that's 100% on the mark. Communism's collapse in 1989 devastated the average East German, nearly all of whom had deluded themselves they were achieving cultural perfection.

Chief Justice John Roberts is eager to avoid presiding over Donald Trump's second impeachment trial–after he became a lightning rod during the first one. Just as the Senate is seeking to ascertain how it might proceed with an impeachment trial without blowing up the start of Joe Biden's term, the Supreme Court could face its own business being rearranged. The Constitution states that 'When the President of the United States is tried the Chief Justice shall preside.' But with the Senate having been in recess since the House voted to impeach, the trial will occur when Trump is no longer in office

Washington—Treasury secretary nominee Janet Yellen urged Congress to “go big” and pass President-elect Joe Biden’s massive $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package in opening her Senate confirmation hearing on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. “When economists look back on the pandemic, I expect they’ll conclude that Congress’ actions averted a lot of suffering,” Yellen told the Senate Finance Committee. “Over the next few months, we’re going to need more aid to distribute the vaccine, to reopen schools, to help states keep firefighters and teachers on the job,” she continued. “We’ll need more funding to make unemployment insurance checks still go out and help families

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is explicitly pointing his finger at President Donald Trump for helping to spur the attack on the Capitol by the outgoing president’s supporters. The Kentucky Republican said Tuesday on the Senate floor, “The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people.” McConnell spoke six days after the Democratic-led House impeached Trump on charges of inciting the Jan. 6 attack. A Senate trial on whether to convict Trump and perhaps bar him from ever again holding federal office is expected to begin in coming days. After years of supporting Trump

Ex-U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr said Tuesday that President Trump’s false claims that the election was stolen “precipitated the riots” at the Capitol. In his first television interview since his ouster and break from Trump, Barr blamed the violent riots on the weeks-long effort to cast doubt on President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the November vote. “That was the thing that precipitated the riots on the Hill’,” Barr told the British ITV network. Barr stopped short of accusing his ex-boss of inciting the mob of supporters, but he didn’t refute it either. “I’ll leave it to the people who are looking
