Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said that the house violated six independent points of the Constitution when impeaching President Donald Trump.
(Snip) Dershowitz said: “They violated the free speech provision. They violated the impeachment criteria. They violated the bill of attainder. They violated due process, on and on and on.”
“How can you impeach a president for a speech that is constitutionally protected?” (Snip) they have protection from culpability for what they do on the Senate floor.
“But the only sanction is to vote them out of office and to bring them to trial in the court of public opinion,”

By January 21 the Constitution will be just a piece of paper (actually parchment). Look for a quick call for a new Constitutional Convention. Remember, I predicted it here.

I have a tiny bit of hope the liberals, the Bidens, the Harrises and mainly the Pelosi might get slapped down over this whole mess. I know, too optimistic, but I just think this can't stand. I am concerned about all the tens of thousands of law enforcement people being called to Washington. Something big just might happen and Trump is smart not to be around. They missed the boat on the 6th, there was supposed to be a huge riot, people killed, buildings burned - didn't work. They might be better prepared this time.

The American CCP (formerly known as the Democrat party) live LIES each and every day. It seems that's all they know how to do: LIE, CHEAT, STEAL.

“Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz ..”
Several words in this opening could be changed in the blink of an eye. (1) insert “Former;” (2) delete “emeritus”; or (3) just make him a nonperson and not report anything he says or does from now on.
Do y’all believe we’re writing and thinking like we are? Where is our Country?!

The House’s new impeachment shows real fault lines in the process. How can it be ok under the Constitution to impeach someone for something he said? The government can’t make free speech a crime or in most instances impose civil liability on it. There is no argument of defamation here an criminal incitement requires intent and strict causation. Trump told the crowd to peacefully protest at the Capitol! Is the President the only person who can be legally deprived of his Constitutional rights?

I wonder if Pelosi is going to enjoy becoming a recluse after she retires. She will never be able to go in public and she doesn't qualify for secret service. My gut feeling she is going to meet a lot of opposition everywhere she goes.

Alan baby, do you really think that the democrats give a damn ? They in your face defrauded Trump out of being re elected. They know that we know the truth and they don't care. The MSM runs cover for them.Alan, that ivory tower you live in has shaded you from the very uncomfortable truth about career politicians

Nasty Nancy couldn't dare call it a Vote of No Confidence and let it stand. If she did that, those expensive ballpoint pens would have seemed inappropriate. Wait. Oh yeah.

Once Congress reaches the court of public opinion the smarter ones will head for the hills and never come back to Washington. If they think the NG is going to protect them they are delusional. Those are our family members and neighbors in camo.

It's moot...there will be no trial. Any attempt to try this impeachment should be boycotted by Republicans...well, except Mitt, of course...and McConnell jumping down Schumer's throat for acting Pelosi's fool. PDT should blow it off offering no response, let alone defense. Let the Dems sit in their own pugh.
