The more he learned about Wednesday’s rioting that led to five deaths at the U.S. Capitol, the more incredulous Theotis “Butch” Jones, a retired Capitol Police officer, became. His first reaction to the coverage, which showed both Capitol Police and D.C. police outnumbered as mobs shattered windows and kicked doors, was: “How can you not have backup? That’s the question. How can you not have it?” Jones, who was a member of Capitol Police from 1973 to 2009, told WTOP that preparations for major events always included layers of security.(Snip) “Someone had to make a decision not to allow reinforcements to show up,” he said.

It was recently discovered that the mayor of DC turned down FBI and other federal agents from being deployed as security forces as well as the National Guard being turned down for security for the event. So in case you were wondering why there was a shortage is because they wanted to make it easy for the fake pro-Trump anarchists to do as they pleased.

It. was. a. setup. Too many protective strategies and tactics were absent for it to be simple incompetence or situational ignorance.
Somebody(s) made a conscious decision to have some bad optics for their arsenal.

So what I read into this; it was all a "set-up" to accuse Trump and his supporters of instigating a riot.

Steven Sund, outgoing Capitol Police Chief, says he was denied the additional security he repeatedly asked for prior to the January 6 lawlessness. He says the requests were denied by both House and Senate Security Officials.
Who are these officials? Why haven't we heard from them? Why isn't our worthless MSM digging into how it happened that we did not have security? This is a basic question that should have been asked and anwered last week.

FTA: Jones said if he were working Wednesday morning, “and I saw the setup the way it was? Believe me, I would have asked questions at roll call.” The Associated Press reported Sunday that there were no more officers at the Capitol Wednesday than on a regular day.

Why are the people who denied requests not named and there faces published in press? They should be charged as “ aiding and abetting “

The playbook for this was written in Charlottesville VA. The intelligence agencies coordinated with law enforcement to create a potential violent event by abandoning their responsibility to show overwhelming force in advance. The people that broke in were organized by multiple political groups that are neither left or right but anarchistic. This includes Antifa and BLM but also Boogaloo and some lunatic sympathizers that are exploiting the stealing of the election. Many of the people being arrested were registered Democrats or performance art nut jobs like the Buffalo shaman freak.

Back up was ordered, the National Guard. They showed up too late to be effective. Was that because the National Gaurd Commander hesitated (on purpose or just wasn't willing to deploy the Guard)? There are too many questions that are not answered. The impeachment of the President over this siege will not provide the accused with any rights stated in the Constitution just as those rights were not considered in the first impeachment. I do not like the fact that Congress can determine who can be a candidate for President and the restriction of the population vote for a candidate.

House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving was appointed in 2012. As SAA, he was the chief law enforcement officer for a police force charged with protecting the capitol and members of Congress. His duties including daily consultation with the Capitol Police and the District Metropolitan Police. Irving's background included a 25-year career with the Secret Service, during which time he served as a supervisory agent in the Presidential Protection Division during the Bush administration, and as Deputy Assistant Director for Congressional Affairs, and as Assistant Director for Administration. Sadly, law enforcement everywhere had come to expect right-wing protests to remain peaceful. It is inconceivable that he was aware this was coming. After Irving tendered his resignation following the mob invasion of the capitol, one command subordinate who had suggested backup for last Wednesday's protests said that Irving had refused to deploy a large police presence on the basis of the "the optics." It turned out to be a decision reminiscent of the one made by the Naval command at Pearl Harbor in 1941. In this case, however, Irving's resignation was of little note. It is the President who may also lose his job over it.

It was planned so Antifa could get into the Capitol building. The most likely reason IS the reason. Pelosi wanted the optics. I was at the bottom of the Capitol Hill west side. Trump rallies don't have people with bullhorns, helmets, gas masks and supplies for scaling walls. At Trump rallies no one gets on a bullhorn to tell people to "Move Forward," and "Go Over the Wall," so that MAGA supporters become a human battering ram. This was a Pelosi-Antifa planned event. Period. I saw it with my own eyes. I could pick out Antifa in the crowd and I am not even a sophisticated observer.

Again. All of this could have been avoided if those in government and in the courts, had done their job when they took an oath to uphold the Constitution. They chose to punt, so the reaction is all on them. They should be glad that the so called Representatives that were in the Capitol at the time, weren't dragged out and had the snot beat out of them.

I'll bet the FBI planned this whole thing.

I have no doubt the Capitol police were ordered to stand down and scatter so whatever would happen would be without hindrances...in other words, A SETUP!

Remember it is both McConnell and Pelosi who share the ultimate responsibility for the security of the US Capitol building. Will we ever see a legitimate investigation to find out why the security at the Capitol was so lax when everyone knew that a huge political protest involving over a hundred thousand people was scheduled to take place in the vicinity of the Capitol? From what we have seen lately with the clear double standard that is always in place between the DC political aristocracy and common everyday Americans it seems doubtful.
You can see how fast the DC career political aristocracy jumped out there blaming the political “outsider” Trump with “snap” impeachment proceedings to cover their butts. People should be enlightened by the considerable group of the political aristocracy who displayed a lack of courage and ran to the liberal media claiming that they were scared to death when confronted with a crowd of moronic Americans from across the country who either forced in way into the Capitol building or were allowed in by the Capitol Police. Remember those same members of the political aristocracy who professed to be scared out of their wits, are the same politicians, without giving it a second thought, who would send your daughters and sons serving in the military on deployments abroad to risk their lives in endless foreign wars, what does that tell you, as they falsely compared the mob violence at the Capitol with the Pearl Harbor attack or when the British military burned down some government buildings in DC during the War of 1812.
