House Speaker Nancy Pelosi named nine members of her caucus to be impeachment managers to argue the Democrats' case in the Senate once the article of impeachment is sent to the chamber. (Snip) "Tonight, I have the solemn privilege of naming the Managers of the impeachment trial of Donald Trump," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "It is their constitutional and patriotic duty to present the case for the President's impeachment and removal. They will do so guided by their great love of country, determination to protect our democracy and loyalty to our oath to the Constitution. Our Managers will honor their duty to defend democracy For The People with great solemnity,

I don't get it. What's motivating Pelosi? Does she think the more stupid part of the democrats across the country will believe the worst about Trump? Is she just motivated by hatred and anger? Or is she thinking she can lay some kind of trap for Trump, to catch him in a lie, to cover-up the dems' having implanted Antifa goons in the protest, or something similar? This won't prevent Trump from running again if he's so inclined at age 76 or whatever in 2004. I can discern no logic in any of this.

To answer your question poster #2, yes, the stupid members of their party are the ones she's trying to impress. My husband's brother is one of them. He calls us and his twin sister (who unfortunately lives next door to him) regularly and yells at them for voting for Trump even though he is 'corrupt' and a 'traitor'. He keeps asking where we get our information. Today, he asked his sister if it comes to a civil war, what side would she be on. She told him the side that wins. If he asked me that I'd tell him the same side that won the civil war his party started to keep human beings enslaved.

Crazy like a fox. The intent is to provoke a violent response, no matter how small or subdued. It will be amplified, just as January 6th was amplified, and used to persecute Trump supporters.

#2 The motivation is her age. The more a person ages (and she has!!), many feelings are exaggerated. In her case, it's her obsessive hatred of President Trump. She cannot let it go, it's beyond her capabilities now with her advanced age. She's a very real danger to the USA. Think how she behaved during President Trump's State of the Union Addresses - that silly little, hateful person with her insulting clap, tearing up his speech and muttering to herself. Have you ever seen behavior like that with the Speaker of the House before? She should be removed as of yesterday. She's beyond her expiration date by a long shot.

The bastards didn’t even hold a hearing before they voted, but they expect the Senate to hold a trial? Why not just wait until Trump is dead, exhume his body, and put it on trial? Then Swalwell can do something useful for a change and squeak out the scripted answers for The Donald’s rotting corpse. This is like some college trying (in “undue process” fashion) some male student accused of a campus rape _after_ he’s withdrawn from the school and enrolled elsewhere.

As with Richard Nixon, the Democrats want the image of Donald Trump dragged through the dirt. They want him humiliated and disgraced. They want to say he couldn't finish his term in office. No one has ever stood up to them and made them look so obvious. He now should play Obama and interject himself into everything they try to do.

The US Constitution is now a relic in the National Archive Museum. The live just set a new precedent that they can impeach anyone for anything they want based on no evidence of any high crime or misdemeanor and no presentation of any evidence to the accused before voting to approve articles. There was a kangaroo Court impeachment. Mitch said it won’t get to the senate floor so go ahead and have your fun. Trump is laughing his butt off. So is the rest of the 84 million people that voted for him.

This may backfire on them as our side gets to lay out its case, as well. Usually, that is. Considering how they do things now, the President may not have the opportunity to defend himself. What if the Senate Republicans are able to present all the evidence for the election fraud as part of their defense? I hope so, as even the local news here in New Mexico is describing the vote fraud as "conspiracy theories." Really, you stupid Talking Head? What court heard all the evidence and ruled that there was no vote fraud? I have not heard of a single court that was willing to examine the evidence of hundreds of witnesses, videos, and crooks caught on tape. They are all cowards or compromised, just as apparently our police and military.

Before it began, I saw from my vantage point on the West Front of the Capitol, what appeared to be four separate cells or units: Plainclothes militants. After the lockdowns and election issues of 2020, the MAGA movement is now a full-on “anti-regime” movement rather than a Trump-focused one. The domestic spying, impeachment, and election irregularities of the Trump presidency matter because of what they tell us about the managerial system. All the public talk of democracy is for show; the whole point of the bureaucracy and the party system is to prevent any popular, democratic movement that would threaten the ruling class’ privileges. The Capitol Police have over 2,000 sworn officers. A police force dedicated to protecting Capitol Hill has more personnel in its service than the police forces of most of the country. Congress' private cops are the 19th largest police force in the country. It’s a larger force than the police forces of Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, or Milwaukee with a massive $460 million budget. It’s the only legislative federal force in the country that is answerable exclusively to Congress. While Democrats advocated defunding the police, their private police force budget shot up from $375 million in 2016 to $460 million in 2020. After the Capitol Hill riot, expect it to go higher.
