David Perdue, the Georgia Republican facing a Senate runoff election on Tuesday, has twice bought a significant number of shares in a US bank shortly after meeting with financial policy makers, raising more questions about his prolific stock trading while in office. In one case, in May 2015, Perdue bought between $15,000 and $50,000 worth of shares in Regions Financial Corporation two days after a 10-minute phone call with then treasury secretary Jack Lew. Perdue bought additional shares in the bank two years later, on 18 May 2017, two days after a half-hour meeting with then Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen.

So
What?
All of these stories are class warfare. First, 50K worth of stock for Perdue is NOTHING. Does this mean this is ALL they bought? Could it be that they rotated funds out of 24 stocks and into 24 new stocks and ONE of them was a bank stock? The financial sector in the S&P 500 is HUGE.
Screw that Loeffler and Perdue did with their money after talking with someone or not...
I am interested in what the democrats plan on doing with MY money. I don't give a rat's ass about the Loeffler and Perdue stock trades. Warnock and Ossoff would be doing the same thing anyway if they had the brains to figure it out and the capital to invest.

I don’t believe anything the Democrats say. And even if true, who cares?

Vote for Perdue. The Guardian don't like him, so you will.

Growing rather weary of British news types foisting their muck diguised as news about our own business. They have plenty of problems in their own yard. Spend your energies on the remedies you require.

He's worth over $15 million but a stock purchase valued at 1/1,000th of his new worth is scandalous? Puh-leeze!

Agree with OP.
Both of these candidates are incredibly weak due to their insider trading record.
Better than the opposition though.
Too bad we don't get better choices these days.

Wow! If, maybe, perhaps, blah blah blah. That's some really weak reporting even by The Guardians low standards. Maybe if they took a look at the Dems in the race they'd see someone who has never accomplished anything and another one who had trouble with the law on numerous occasions to include spouse abuse and abuse of minors, Just sayin', take a look.

Stick it sideways, Guardian. You didn't say diddly squat about the Democrat members of Congress who did that more times than we can count, along with their spouses and their kids! C'mon, man!

Why would a socialist UK newspaper be printing such a story targeting a US Senator the day before a critical US election? Can you imagine what the anti-US fallout there would be in the UK if a conservative US media operation printed such a story targeting a UK politician the day before a critical UK election?
You got to remember in the UK there is not a major political party in political philosophy in anyway similar to the conservative portion of the US Republican Party. The so-called UK Conservative Party is similar in political philosophy to the US liberal Democrats. The other major UK political Party, the Labor Party, is socialist to communist in their political philosophy. The other minor UK political parties are tribal in natural catering to Northern Irish, Scottish or Welch people. In UK politics the conservative portion of the US Republican Party, including President Trump are considered to be “far right” and therefor to be shunned whenever possible.

Insider trading is the very heart and soul of the US Congress, but wouldn't it be nice not to have two inside traders running at the same time in the same state?
