Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Sunday responded to criticism over his plan to challenge the electoral college results on Jan. 6 unless an emergency 10-day audit to assess election fraud allegations takes place.
Cruz and 10 other senators announced their intention to challenge Electoral College votes from contested states over concerns that the 2020 election “featured unprecedented allegations of voter fraud, violations, and lax enforcement of election law, and other voting irregularities.”
The senator from the Lone Star State said in a recent interview that after the senators made the announcement, Democrats began urging that Cruz “should be arrested and tried for the crimes of sedition and treason.”

Ted Cruz is doing the right thing and redeeming himself for his petty speech in the 2016 convention. Much better job than Tom Cotton that lost his run for POTUS for lack of courage. This is the hill to die on, and we are taking names like yours Tom Cotton, John Thune, Mitch McConnell, and Kevin MacCarthy.

I don't understand this redeeming business directed at Ted Cruz. We all need redemption. I support Trump, this fraud needs to be defeated. Having said that, do not forget that Donald Trump attacked Ted's wife, accused his father of involvement in JFK's assassination and was heavily favored by the media he now hates to rub out Cruz in the primaries. I remember this vividly as I was a Cruz supporter. I don't know if Cruz handled it right, don't know how I would have handled it. The media wanted Trump because they thought Hillary could defeat him. They were wrong, and I do think Donald Trump is the right man at the right time. Let us not have selective memories. Ted Cruz is human and Trumps attacks were unfair, I think it is noble of him to forget all that and champion the fight to save our republic.

This is laughable. Senator Cruz is doing exactly what the "we the people" want in accordance with our constitution. This election was stolen from everyone.
If Biden won fair and square, no fraud, I could accept it....would not like it. Bottomline, this election was stolen from everyone in the U.S.

Excuse me, #4, there were a lot of people who started the attacks on Donald Trump from the get go. Megyn Kelly comes to mind as does Scott Walker. Do you remember all of the candidates? When Scott Walker gave up the presidential run, first thing he said coming back to Wisconsin was something like, "don't vote for Donald Trump" so I can imagine there were other candidates that were speaking negatively. Don't doubt that Ted Cruz was one of them. Don't paint Ted Cruz so innocently either.
The main point here is that Donald Trump needs all the support possible to defeat this cheating and fraud.

I believe that Trump won over Cruz just like he won me over. Through actions and policies.
Having watched Trump for years before 2016, I was convinced that Trump was a self agrandizing buffoon. I was wrong about Trump, and I'm guessing Cruz feels the same way. Or Cruz understands that the stakes are too high to let this pass unchallenged. Or both.....

It’s pretty interesting that Democrats want to arrest a senator for doing his job as stated in the US Constitution.
Says a lot.

And how about Marco Rubio, his response is crickets. Trump was right to call him little marco. Lucky he has Desantis to cover his butt and make sure it was an almost fraudless election. He won't get many votes next time around. Cobarde!

I've written my two RINO Senators Burr and Tillis, and told them to get off their butts and join Senator Cruz.

Yup #8, and they impeached Trump for adhering to his legal obligation to assure that foreign aid does not go to corrupt governments.
I too was Cruz supporter in the 2016 election and I was fuming mad at how Trump treated him. I came to realize that despite his flaws Trump did what no other person had ever done in exposing both parties and turned out to be the most ardent supporter of our constitution since Reagan. If however, I were to impose a constitutional purity test on Trump I would not have voted for him in 2020, I have no intention of applying such a test to Cruz if he makes another run. I believe that Cruz would make a far better POTUS now than he possibly could have been had he won in 2016 and it was Trump that showed the way. Unfortunately all we have to choose from are human like lifeforms prone to faults. We needed to grasp the fight we are in and begin to actually fight. Trump gave us that, now we need to carry on the fight to restore the republic. Until such time that it is secure, no other issue matters.

Trump did not outright trash anybody in 2016 but he had some amusing pet names for everybody, it was all part of the show and the more fragile candidates could not handle it. Cruz took it in the spirit of the fight. Kasich, McPain, and some of the other big egos collapsed before our eyes. They were not presidential material.

All REPUBLICANS who voted for Trump would challenge the 2020 electoral college votes from contested states if we could. There was nothing but cheating and fraud. Don’t even think we would consider coming together with those who made life miserable for Trump for the last 4 years. My thoughts and hopes for these people can’t be printed here.

Well... hear come the upsets in the form of sedition accusations... funny how the lefties always accuse the right of the very thing they are guilty of...it's fair to say... the lefties are committing sedition by selling out America...and trying to install a fraudulent candidate who can't remember where he is...can you imagine Biden talking to putin ?...well... WE all know Obama is planning to run the country if Biden is installed...so... the obama/biden group will never have the consent of the WE the people....

Why are there not 52 Republican Senators supporting Ted? Asking for a friend.
I read Ted Cruz's latest book "One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History" while stuck in this illegal quarantine and it is great.
I, too, was a Ted Cruz supporter before I switched to the Last Man Standing. However, Ted talks about how he has been always supportive of Trump after The Donald basically called him up to to say it was a rough & tumble primary fight and he hoped there were no hard feelings. Ted points out that since then he has been a private advisor to Trump on an almost weekly basis since right after Trump beat The Hildebeast!
Trump even offered Ted the first SCOTUS opening but Ted said he wasn't ready yet! Read it.
It also greatly improved my rating of Mr. Cruz ("Cross" in Spanish, btw) by many points because Ted is a true Constitutionalist.
What he and the others are doing it absolutely the right thing to do and I hope he succeeds like the Republicans did back in the 1876 election of Hayes versus Tilden.

THEY want him arrested for sedition and treason for wanting to audit an obviously fraudulent election?? That is like saying the mafia wants to arrest law enforcement for investigating RICO activities.
Thank you #4!! Cruz IS and always has been a good man. He was wrongly smeared by Trump. I finally forgave Trump and support him wholeheartedly now. However, Cruz deserved a lot better in the previous election and cannot be blamed for standing up for himself and his family.

This is what we're dealing with folks! They have no respect for the Constitution; they have no respect for the sanctity of human life. They will follow through on jailing and killing people as soon as they are given the power. Trust!

Treason? Betraying the U S into the hands of Red China? That's Joe Biden.
Sedition? working to overthrow the Constitution? That is the coalition of the Democratic Party, the Main Stream Media, and Red China.
These persons have got the right crime but the wrong criminal.

I don't fancy our chances to learn the real election results in time for the swearing-in ceremony. I wish I could say different. Does Senator Cruz have a right to call for an audit? Sure. In fact, he may very well have a duty to do so.
The election was stolen. And every legal means to annoy the Democrats and the Socialists and the Left should be undertaken until they collapse on themselves.

I sure agree #11. President Trump looked our government and both parties in the face, told the truth about them. He exposed the greed, corruption and self-serving incompetence of both parties. A politician who will not openly confront the evil Deep State and the now extreme lawlessness within our powerful federal agencies won’t be worth a thing. The future candidate who will fo that is what people will be hungering for - just my take.
