Once upon a time, there was a president called Ronald Reagan—a model of decency and probity, at once great and self-effacing, who, above all, was truly in love with America and saw it as his sacred mission to preserve and strengthen American freedom. (Snip) he revitalized the U.S. economy, snapped us out of what his disastrous predecessor had referred to as “our malaise,” and helped bring down the Soviet Union.
(Snip) for the next seven presidential terms, we had to make do with mediocrity and self-dealing. Both parties were dominated by crime families—sorry, I mean political dynasties. The Bushes were uninspiring. The Clintons were pure slime.

Well there's a must read article if there ever was one but I'm afraid that the cowardly politicians save a few brave souls in the republican party will stand by and do nothing. Look no farther than the Georgia senate runoff election. The republicans in power who wouldn't stand behind Trump and are more than willing to let the presidential election be stolen are saying that if we don't vote in two republican senators its all over for America. Its already over and the only hope of getting it back is to burn the republican party to the ground and start over with leaders that will actually stand up for America.

Will Kane in High Noon.
The trouble is, how do we "win?" Elections don't matter any more. Options are few.
Make that "option." Singular.

Here's the takeaway from this--Trump will win because he has the PEOPLE BEHIND HIM, the same as Reagan. The weasel politicians better watch out when Trump is called the winner of the election.

71 million voters ?
Sounds like a Trump led 3rd party, the Constitutional Party of America.
2022 ... take 10 senate seats and 20 or 30 House seats and watch the Uniparty pee their collective pants.
Then we say " Hi Mattressback ... see you in 2024."

FTA: "Like Reagan, Trump actually seemed to care about ordinary Americans. The Bushes and Clintons had gotten rich as “public servants..." While the Bushes fell short as conservative political leaders, they did not feed exclusively at the government trough as have the Clintons. Bush Oil in Midland, Texas was not a scam, like the Clinton Foundation. As a petroleum geologist in Texas, I had dealings with Bush Oil and it was a legitimate business, known in the Texas oil patch to be above board.
I'm sure many readers agree with the author as he gets around to comparing Reagan unfavorably to Trump; however, the following passage does not necessarily support the author's intent, culture-wise: "he [Trump} was famous for hiring smart people regardless of their sex, race, or sexual orientation. He supported same-sex marriage long before Obama or Hillary Clinton did."
Both presidents made some pretty bad hires but the progressive hold-overs from Obama's disastrous administration have been like one constant knife in the president's back. Donald Trump was the best choice for president in 2016, and the only sane choice in 2020. That said, I also believe Reagan re-established conservatism as the default political philosophy for traditional American values and that Reagan's articulation of those values stemmed the previously steady conservative losses in the culture war. Those lingering values paved the way for a Trump presidency. Can President Trump usher in another 40 years of America? Fortunately or unfortunately that largely depends on us.
FTA: "In this climactic battle [2020 election] of our decades-long culture war, we need to win—or be prepared to lose in ways beyond imagining."

No argument regarding PDT as an essential man. The argument is over the role of the GOP and its key players over the past 4 years. Many saw the party as a bulwark against Dem leftism. The GOP failed the tests time after time, particularly since Paul Ryan forfeited the House majority in ‘16.
Some here have warned of the never ending string of kitchen sinks targeting PDT. Impeachment was to be the final one, making him radioactive. It failed, and the prevention of his re-election became the priority. And the GOPe was as complicit as its Dem UNIPARTY partner.

The democrats and RINOs are going to make darn sure no outsider like Reagan or Trump gets into office ever again if President Trump doesn't win. Mail in voting, vote harvesting, felons voting, legalizing 35 million illegal aliens, motor voter, chain migration ... Heck, reduce the voting age to 16, on line voting, do away with the electoral college. Good times.
