Falls Church. Va.—A school board in a northern Virginia city has voted unanimously to change the names of a high school and elementary school named for founding fathers George Mason and Thomas Jefferson. The vote Tuesday by the school board in Falls Church came despite a community survey that showed broad support for keeping the names of George Mason High School and Thomas Jefferson Elementary. Supporters of the change said the men's legacy as slaveholders makes them unworthy of being honored in such a fashion.(Snip) It will cost more than $100,000 to change the names, according to estimates.
Amazing the power a group of constantly complaining, moaning and groaning malcontents can do to a community. Oh well, that’ll fix the problems of lawlessness, illegitimate births and alcohol and drug use. Extreme Sarcasm Alert.

Falls Church Virginia is now the county that took in all the liberal nuts from Maryland. These liberals destroyed Montgomery county then moved to Virginia and they are doing the same there. We have a few of them in my neighborhood and we let them know if they start trying to bring Maryland to PA we will persuade them that it is time to go back to Maryland.

These fools seem to believe that they can change the facts of history by rewriting or ignoring them. That is what communist countries do, and we are following their lead. Straight into their guiding principle.

That's good. Any public school in that peculiar area like many other districts in America do not deserve to have these Great Americans name smeared by having them on state control indoctrination centers. If the unAmericans that send their spawn to these propaganda craps holes for their brain washing see fit, there are numerous unAmerican public figures whose names would work.

Since FDR put Japanese Americans in concentration camps all schools, roads and bridges named after him should be changed. All schools, roads and bridges named after the grand Kleagle of west Virginia need to be changed.

I went to Jr. High in Falls Church, a very long time ago. So long ago that there was a conservative afternoon paper (The Washington Star) which competed with the Washington ComPost, and I delivered their papers to earn money for model airplane parts and ammo for my rifle.
The Anti-American, Anti-Truth folks have clearly totally taken over northern Virginia. I sold one parcel of land in Va last month, one more to go and I will be permanently done with this declining state. It once was a fine place, and I know many good people there, but the evil has overtaken the state. None of my family lives in Va any more, with the exception of one of my father's cousins. Out of Va is a good thing.

there are less than 15,000 people in Falls Church. It is a very old City from colonial times. The Falls Church is in the city dating from 1739. George Washington Worshiped at that church. The average home sells for over 700K and the median household income is around 120K. The city is well below the state average for black residents. It has the highest percentage of residents born outside the US. Managerial Professionals and Attorneys are the 2 most prominent occupations (translate managerial professionals into Government Bureaucrat). Falls Church is very little like the rest of America. Not surprised at their extreme wokeness.

The word 'Church' in the town name must surely offend or threaten someone. )Probably a someone who lives in a basement and will be depressed until all the student loans are forgiven.)

And this helps one single POC how?
I’ll approve of the name changes when they get around to Yale and Vanderbilt. Yale was a slave trader and Vanderbilt owned numerous plantations.

The current names make some students feel marginalized and uncomfortable, they say. How about Harvey Milk Elementary? Bin Laden/Northam High?
