Republican Party of Texas Chairman Allen West suggested states should secede from the union after the Supreme Court refused to hear a case President Donald Trump wanted to use to overturn the presidential election. 'This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the US constitution and not be held accountable,' West said. 'Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution,' he added. His comments were quickly read as a push for secession, what southern states did in the lead-up to the Civil War, in a dispute over slavery.

Sure wish New Mexico could join this secession, but we are filled with illegal aliens who vote in our elections and use up all our social services, not to mention an idiot demoncrat governor who believes the way to fight the flu is make people stand out in the cold and rain for hours at a time.
Looks like the whole Midwest, our Fly-Over Country, is law-abiding and believes in fair elections, while the coasts, New Mexico and Colorado, which also panders to all of its illegal aliens, believes you can steal an election because their Cause is so noble. What a joke. If the whole of Middle America formed it's own union, all the rest can just starve to death in the dark, far as I'm concerned.

Is there any doubt that P.O.S. John Roberts was behind this? He needs to be the first to go.

Hey #1, my Texas is full of illegals too that have voted for years. Trump would have beat Biden by 15 points at least if WE were like we used to be. So don’t feel bad. We red flyover states are fighting the same battle. I don’t know if the good Colonel is serious but these dang RINOs would fight us tooth and nail!

So now the Republican party has to establish a plan to forge 15-20 million fake ballots for elections in 2022. Hope those are enough to outnumber the forgeries the Democrats are gonna use to flood the system. Imagine, 390 millions ballots will be cast in a country of 350+ million population. Thank you Democrats. Wonderful. Just wonderful.

Irreconcilable differences end in divorce (which is preferable to homicide).
Living in the same house in separate rooms is not working for us, because the other party keeps leaving the front door open at night, hacking into our work computer, and taking money from our billfold.

By the way . . . the head of the Texas Republican Party is Allen West. Who is black. Harder to accuse him of wanting to re-establish the Confederacy (although the progs have slandered him in every other way imaginable). Former Florida U.S. congressman. I nominate him to play the part of Sam Houston. I know Cruz wants that part, but he can be Navarro. What the hey. . . if Trump wants, he can move here and be the 5th or 8th president of the Republic of Texas (depending on whether you count Smith, Robinson and Burnet). Hey, I ain't called 'Texaspast' for nuthin!

Secession (let's call it "partition", less alarming) is a stirring idea at this point, but it will never happen. Most people in the flyover states, including Trump voters, would oppose it. Why? Because they - and most of the rest of us - would just have too much to lose.

The challenge with secession is that there are a lot of federal lands in the seceding states. What are you going to do with the military bases? National parks?

Texas legislature goes into session in about a month. I'm sure your state rep and senator would appreciate your support in making this happen, so call or write and tell them it's time to cut ties with the United States. Time is short. Allen West should be out there every day promoting Tex-it, demanding action from our governor and legislature or demanding resignations! And those elsewhere can muster on the village green or wherever and water that tree of liberty with blood.

Reasons why it won't happen:
1. The TX legislature is/was a bunch of softies letting the governor and the county judges roll over the people on Covid. Think secession would blow their collective skirt up? No way.
2. Too many federal tentacles in the state: Ft. Hood, Randolph AFB, Red River Army Depot, etc., not to mention NSA San Antonio and Pantex. Think the feds won't be interested in seeing their infrastructure go poof? Especially Pantex?
3. All the fed and contractor jobs in number 2 above.
4. All the people, even in TX, who drive around wearing masks also vote - and not for secession.
I'm sure there are more reasons, but it's early and I haven't finished my coffee yet.

Living in the Republic of Texas would be most interesting. The one concern I have about moving to Texas is that many lefty corporations from the west coast, silicon valley, Illinois, and several from the eastern seaboard have been moving their operations to Texas to escape the regulatory and political quagmires of their home states. Unfortunately, this means they are bringing their lefty workforce with them. So the political landscape of Texas will change. This has already happened in the Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Houston areas.

C'mon, #21...don't be such a downer. Texas could become the first country to Mars...with Elon Musk largely footing the bill. And it should have no problem raising a military force in the land of "Come and Take It". WE ARE TEXAS!
Of course, you are correct in your post. (And, yes, I am now a Texas resident, owning property, paying taxes and everything.)
