Et tu, Michael Connelly?

I am accustomed and indifferent to insults hurled at me and my president by Hollywood airheads. Many of the Trump-haters are mediocre talents at best (Kathy Griffin, for example) or well past their prime (Rob Reiner, Robert De Niro). There would be no need to boycott them because I wouldn't pay any attention even without their nastiness. Their Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is just background noise in the popular culture.
But the latest attack that I've become aware of stings. I've been reading my way through the works of crime writer Michael Connelly and admire his insight and talent.

What a disappointment. Michael Connelly is one of my favorite authors. During the pandemic, I have been reread some of his older works. Guess he is rich and doesn't need my purchase. MAGA

Long time reader, but no more. I wrote to janed@michaelconnelly.com:
So Michael Connelly thinks all Trump supporters are liars? Please tell him that I have read many of his books but I cannot tell a lie; I will not read a single one again.
Good job losing a long time reader Connelly. What a jerk.

I too have read all of Connelly’s very engrossing, entertaining books. I had placed a recommendation to buy, along with a hold, on this new book in ebook form at my local library. I am going now to withdraw my recommendation. We can do cancel culture, too, when some fool invites it so flagrantly.

I'm in the middle of the book now. I've read everything he's written more than once. Mike is a great writer, writes great books and is a very a nice guy who I've met personally. He's written very pro-cop fiction (Harry Bosch) and non-fiction.
Most of the TV cast are very liberal, but I have tweeted back-and-forth with Titus Welliver (Bosch) and he is also a very nice, decent guy, albeit liberal and anti-Trump.
How many defense lawyers in a murder case would want a "Trump supporter" on a jury? I'd prefer Don Lemon, Brian (Potato Head) Stelter, or Whoopi Goldberg.
People, sometimes you really have to get a grip.

I read the book last week and posted my first Amazon review. Basically said Connelly does not want Trump supporters to buy his books. Just like the NBA & NFL Connelly took a knee. And I took my ball and went home. I don’t like politics and entertainment mixed.

If you write to Connelly ask him why he obviously thinks Obama and Biden make much better presidents. Would like to hear his answer.

Leftists are good at putting themselves and their brands out of business, aren't they? Obviously, Connelly is not a good judge of character; that says a lot about him. The last two seasons of Bosch sucked anyway, so I was pretty much done with the series. I never read any of his books, because I didn't want to be disappointed like I was after James Patterson revealed himself as an idiot leftist. Now, I only read the classics and an exclusive list of Christian authors.

Don't get poster # 5----does he mean Whoopi ("a great Dr, that Jill Biden") is smart or the opinionated emotional idiot I see on The View, where she stands out as the best because the rest are total fools.

Had to google this guy to find out what he wrote. Evidently he is the creator of the character of Harry Bosch, which is a great series for folks that like that stuff. Hubby liked this show at first, but then he dropped it for the seemingly increasing gratuitous violence in each episode. Sure hope that the show runners invested their earnings from this series, because anyone who is a Trump supporter may start finding other things to watch or do instead.

Like #5, I've read all of his books but one - Blood Work - my library didn't have it, and I don't spend good money on one-and-done contemporary pulp fiction. I have this latest one on hold at my library now and should have it soon...and will read it. I just gloss, read over, the politics I don't like from many authors. It's one page out of 300-400. It's fall-asleep reading anyway.
Try Joel C. Rosenberg if you want your political psy/ops thrillers to not have a left-wing bent. Start with the Last Jihad from 2002. I just finished reading his latest 3 book character series...www.bookseriesinorder.com/joel-c-rosenberg/. He has also written non-fiction dealing with the Middle East and his fiction books reflect that realism. I also think that Kyle Mills has done a good job taking over the continuation of the Mitch Rapp books from the late Vince Flynn.

I agree with #5 and #7. It’s a character in a book. I also would like to hear from Connelly. I will write to him, and I love his books.

I too wrote to Jane D who's listed on his Fakebook page and reminded her that as Michael Jordan correctly observed, "Republicans buy sneakers, too", along with my farewell and hope that the door doesn't hit Michael in the butt on his way out.
