Media and Democrats Decide They Love

Donald Trump caused much consternation within the beltway last week after he announced that he would follow through on pulling most of the remaining troops out of Afghanistan. As per our usual agreement, the neoconservative contingent, including Mitt Romney, lost their minds demanding that a “reason” be given for attempting to end a 20 year war. You know, because being at war is now the default and needs no defense or something. At least that segment of the right was being consistent though. What’s been perhaps even more jarring is how the mainstream media and Democrats have suddenly decided they love forever war now.

Comments:

Bonchie runs through the hair-pulling, pearl-clutching, garment-rending the Dems and their State Media are doing because President Trump is finally ending that long war …At least he’s bringing OUR troops home. Those who jumped Bush for being a hawk and praised Obama for being a man of peace are now all over President Trump, who is actually getting the job done… That’s what he does.

I see two advantages to this. First those troops should be home, not in Afghanistan as targets for crazed Muslims. Second, If Biden sends more troops there he will be the warmonger.

Remember only about 1% of the US population in the modern era has voluntarily served in the US military, and there is a good chance that at least half the US population does not even know anyone in the military. So among the ruling, rich and famous classes who have no or very few family members in the military there is little opposition or resistance to the military industrial complex keeping the endless wars going in the Middle East and elsewhere. If the military was still being staffed through a legitimate universal draft that put the sons and daughters of the ruling, rich, and famous classes lives at risk, those so-called endless wars would have been brought to a conclusion long ago. As a guy who spent all of 1968 on the ground in Vietnam, if I had children or grandchildren who came to me and said that they were thinking of joining the military today, I would recommend against them doing that, and would tell them to think about doing something else.

#2, thank you for your service. I believe i read somewhere that President Trump is the first president in decades to NOT start a war. It seems the Democrat establishment desires conflict in the Middle East, since they want to retain troops there without any plan, and they seem to want to re-start the horrible Iran deal - presume to ensure those finders fees connect with the massive payments sent to Iran, are not clawed back. President Trump should announce some other moves, whether he's actually planning them or not, just to illustrate how the media needs to counter anything he says or does with the opposite.

There were plenty of "conservatives" who promoted our being in Iraq and Adghanistan after the value was gone. Always able to raise the boogeyman of terrorism and 9/11 to justify the involvement and continuing expenditure. After decades the Iraqis couldn't put together a competent security force. Still can't. Over the years there were plenty of advocates for surges and such, saving face expressed as we can leave our dead having died for little. These still pop out of the woodwork whenever Kim passes gas. George Washington had it right, as did other founders, none of whom aspired to lead the "Free World" or concern itself with "human rights". He said, "The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements, let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith. Here let us stop. ... it must be unwise in us to implicate ourselves by artificial ties in the ordinary vicissitudes of (Euro) politics, or the ordinary combinations and collisions of her friendships or enmities." The same advice serves doubly well in the Mideast and Asia.

President Donald Trump’s campaign on Sunday appealed the dismissal of its election lawsuit in Pennsylvania, according to a notice filed in federal court, bringing the campaign one step close to its stated goal of getting an election challenge to the Supreme Court. District Court Judge Matthew Brann dismissed the campaign’s lawsuit on Saturday, opining that the plaintiffs lacked standing to bring the claim, among other issues. The campaign said it has appealed the ruling to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.(Snip)Brann’s dismissal of the lawsuit came before the stage of the proceedings where the Trump campaign would be able to present evidence.

An interesting review of Philadelphia ballot uploading results indicates a pattern of manipulated results according to an independent researcher looking at raw data. The results are discussed within a video upload explaining how the data-sets were organized and manipulated in a series of timed events. (Image)(WATCH HERE) According to the analysis: “in this data, particular vote ratios are transferred between random sets of seized precincts throughout the day.” “The Dominion System isolated a “Flip Set” from the expected vote count and the expected percentage. It then splices the Flip Set into multiple “ratio sets” and assigns them to precincts throughout the day. Once a particular “ratio set” receives the votes it needed,

Dinesh D’Souza cuts through some of the chaff and countermeasures deployed by Tucker Carlson and asks a transparently obvious question: Are U.S. ballot counting machines capable of being manipulated? That baseline question is not dependent on any answer within a court or Trump campaign team filing. That question is simply a matter of investigative journalism finding out… but they are disinterested. If the U.S. uses election machinery that is capable of being manipulated, that alone should initiate a serious line of inquiry about why such a function would even be present. Why would any ballot counting machine even need to have a feature to shift votes or change outcomes?

ALBANY — One upstate company wants Gov. Andrew Cuomo to be the biggest turkey at your Thanksgiving dinner this year. The Buffalo-based design firm Custom 716 is selling stickers of the governor’s face that can be put on a window to make it look like Cuomo is peering inside — presumably to make sure not too many people are there to celebrate the holiday this year. The sticker is a clear way of ripping Cuomo for demanding that New York families avoid gathering in large groups for the holiday out of fears of spreading COVID-19. “Great for all gatherings, sure to get laughs, great for your business or your home!”

By its campaign and conduct of the 2020 election, the ruling class ceased pretending to be part of a constitutional republic. By treating fellow Americans as inferiors through word and deed, its members renounced their common citizenship with us. Eschewing persuasion, they set about compelling obedience to an openly manipulated election. Thus did they burn their bridges to the rest of America as surely as did Hernán Cortéz when he burned the ships that had carried his troops to conquer the Aztec empire. Amazingly, it appears that Trump’s own campaign is now disowning Sidney Powell’s fairly out there claims about German servers and millions of switched votes. And I don’t say that as someone who wouldn’t want to believe it if there was proof, but there was obviously no proof and plenty to the contrary. Here’s the Trump campaign today essentially telling Powell to go jump in a lake, which is probably the most surprising development of the last several months. Well, this is awkward.
