Major concerns were mounting today over whether Britain will be ready for Boris Johnson's 'ambitious' plans to ban gas boilers in all new-build homes by 2023, after the target was brought forward by two years. The proposal was branded 'impossible' because just two hydrogen boiler prototypes exist, a fifth of the pipe network still needs to be relaid and every engineer will be retrained. The ban on methane gas boilers means new homes must have low-carbon alternatives, such as electric heat pumps or hydrogen boilers—but it has surprised many homebuilders who had been working towards a deadline of 2025.

Key technical point: Hydrogen is NOT a fuel. Think hard about that. You CANNOT go and "get" (drill, refine, mine, extract, etc) hydrogen. It does NOT exist in nature. You MAKE hydrogen, and all the known processes for making hydrogen take two or three units of high grade energy and convert it to one unit or one half a unit of hydrogen energy. Basically, you throw away 2/3 to 3/4 of your energy to get to hydrogen. VERY inefficient. Imagine that you buy gasoline for $1.69 a gallon, and then pour three gallons into a machine to give you 1/2 a gallon of "magic gas". Gee, that means that your "magic gas" costs $10.14 a gallon. And, in England, gas is something like $9 a gallon, anyway. Remember the warnings that "green means freezing in the dark"? Yep, they are real. Boris is an idiot, and I pity the poor Brits.

There is no source of hydrogen that doesn't take large amounts of energy to liberate from it's naturally occurring molecule.

Are they crazy?! Don't they know the dangers of di-hydrogen monoxide? It's used to make styrofoam and is used at nuclear power plants, and can cause suffocation./s Of course it can. And it can cause erosion and rust./s It's for the suckers. They are willing to be taxed into a government run poor house program in the name of the holy environment. Joe Biden shouldn’t let the “We Just Did 46” hat go to his head. When the 78-year-old President-elect debuted the chapeau via wife Jill’s social media Nov. 7, supporters reveled in his apparent retort to Donald Trump’s iconic fire-engine red “Make America Great Again” cap. The Biden hats—which refer to his soon becoming the 46th president—are currently being hawked on Amazon for as high as $25.95 and online e-commerce websites like Etsy, but they aren’t being sold by the official Team Joe store. “‘We Just Did’ is not a campaign slogan. They are trolling Trump,”

Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday continued to say all options are “on the table” when it comes to fighting the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in New Jersey—but he also suggested it’s irresponsible to close indoor dining or nonessential retail stores without more federal aid. The Democratic governor took aim at a favorite target, Republican U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, as federal lawmakers in Washington remain deadlocked over a new stimulus package. Democrats want a $2.2 trillion bill, while Republicans prefer $500 billion with no aid to state and local government. “As long as Mitch McConnell is sitting on his hands

The state has yet to certify its results for Biden, who won Michigan by more than 154,000 votes, according to unofficial results. Trump and his allies have been trying to convince judges and lawmakers in the state to set aside the popular vote and swap in Republican-chosen electors. Barack Obama allowed female staffers to be sidelined by their male colleagues because of his own ‘tolerance for a towel slapping atmosphere' in the White House. In his memoir the former president writes that he learned of a ‘deepening dissatisfaction’ among senior women in his administration that was a ‘blind spot’ for him. The women were sick of men talking over them or passing off their ideas as their own during high level meetings, Obama writes in ‘A Promised Land’. As a result they felt ‘diminished, ignored and increasingly reluctant to voice their opinions’—and some broke down in tears.

When President Trump refused to concede the election to Joe Biden in the immediate aftermath of Nov. 3, we argued that he had the right to mount legal challenges if he believed there had been irregularities, mistakes, fraud, or all three. Democratic objections and outrage were as hypocritical as they were inevitable, coming as they did from a corps that refused to accept the 2016 election result not for days, weeks, or even months, but for four years. But although fair-minded people know there are legitimate procedures for litigation, and that these should be allowed to play out, there is also wisdom in the phrase, “put up or shut up.”
