Thanks to the dreaded Covid-19, it’s good-bye Thanksgiving and, soon enough, farewell Christmas. And after that, who knows?
Having discovered that Americans have lost their spines and are now easily penned inside their homes like two-legged sheep, the petty potentates who rule—not govern, rule—far too many states and municipalities have concluded that we will never fight back, never resist, and never reject their latest whimsical edicts.
For proof, look no farther than California, where 41 of the state’s 58 counties have just been returned to most-restricted status, and a statewide curfew is now being bruited in Sacramento.

Well, the Superintendent of Arlington National Cemetery has cancelled this year's Christmas wreath laying as a health caution.

#2, that’s what happens when the state elects someone like Northam. After 35 years, we got out just before he was elected, and moved to a red state. I think that you and I used to be not-too-distant neighbors.

I'm not cancelling anything. Someone wants to come to my house and talk with me about the number of cars in my driveway and they'll get the door slammed in their face.

This "Nanny State" is an overreach of Federal power assumed by unelected bureaucrats through the "General Welfare" clause of the U.S. Constitution, and really needs to be challenged in court. Is it truly the job of the Federal government to micro-manage the lives of Americans with the goal of keeping them all "free from disease" for life? Where were they for "seasonal flu?" Where are they for AIDS? Should the Feds mandate the use of condoms for all participants in illicit and "risky" copulation? Mandating a face mask isn't much different.

The democrats are not capitalists. So anytime they have an opportunity they clamp down on business, they do. Obama was very good at that. From bad-mouthing ('you didn't build that) to increasing taxes and regulations, making business pull back in. Any increases in the economy were not due to anything he did. Biden ran on raising taxes, and clean energy attempts, including getting rid of fracking and fossil fuels. Business damping is inherent in democrat genes.

The media and the political left's only focus is the number of new cases, not the number (percentage) of deaths and who is most vulnerable, or the number of people who got over it. And the reason boils down; to deny the American people their rights, so they can have more control.
This virus is so contagious, it can't be stopped, it can only be slowed down, slightly. The harder you try to stop its spread, the longer we must deal with it. The facts show that it is no more lethal than any other flu virous, but is treated much differently. Let it run it's course and be done with it. But then, the media and politicians will lose their grip on this nation, won't they?
The Left has no interest in defeating this virus, but is using it as a weapon against the American people; to break America so we will want to join the New World Order. When that happens, and it will, it will be under Joe Biden's administration, and all the rights and possessions of the people will slowly be taken away... forever.
I hope like Heck, anyone and everyone who voted democrat, will be the FIRST to experience the tyranny to come.
God Help Us. The godless utopia they want to usher in, will be a disaster, it always has been. What they refuse to understand, is that evil comes for within each of us, not without us. But those promoting the New World Order think they are "basically good", and moral (and have even created their own moral standards), when they are actually the sons of Satan and evil. So they will destroy anyone who disagrees with them in the name of "good". They can and will justify mass killings, if those who die are considered evil. That is what this world is getting ready to do to America. Pray and hang on to God and Truth (His Son).

Liberals have to attack Christians and traditional family values. It is what they do, and their entire reason for existing. Meanwhile, they refuse to follow any edict they try to impose on the rest of us. And get mad when they get caught.
Far as I am concerned, Trump should have stopped this months ago, as IMO our economy is a big part of our national interests and security. Enough is enough.

Re #3 - Yes. Trying to convince husband to move out. I prefer SW FL, but no on the coats - more interior. A seignior across from us, retired Air Traffic Controller and reliable union and Dem voter is moving to Tenn because, wait for it: low taxes, low cost of living, etc. And he will continue to vote Dem idiots in Tenn as he did for a couple plus decades here in Virginia.

As long as the focus is on 'CASES'. then the deep state will control the USA.
'Cases' is an easy way to control the sheepeople.
Our county, on the central coast of California, will be closed down by Newsom. BUT the county health Department shows on its' web page that there are only 3 COVID19 patients in 369 hospital beds and 2 COVID19 patients in 59 ICU beds.
THIS IS NOT A CRISIS!!!

Looking at my county, the "cases" are spiking, yet the hospitalizations are flat to down. People are not getting sick, even though they 'test positive' in great numbers.
Three possible explanations:
1) The "cases" are huge numbers of false positives. I will discuss that below in more detail.
2) The virus has changed and is dramatically less dangerous to health now compared to six months ago. This is very possible. The virus uses RNA which is single stranded and therefore more susceptible to random mutations than DNA which has a double strand (backup copy) and is much less susceptible to mutations.
3) Doctors have discovered that there are drugs to hand out which minimize the symptoms, keep things from going to the hospitalization stage. This is certainly true for hospital treatment, and is likely true for outpatients, too. No good info on this topic is commonly known.
It may be a combination of all three, too.
As to the testing...they are using PCR (polymerase chain reaction) a method of "amplifying" a piece of DNA, which is the blueprint for all cellular life.
There is a bit of complication with this virus in that it uses RNA, normally a temporary 'scratchpad' copy of DNA used inside cells, for it's 'blueprints'. So this single strand RNA needs to be converted to DNA, and then that DNA can be amplified by PCR.
The simple version is that by thermally cycling a mix of the right chemicals and enzymes, any of the target RNA (which is SUPPOSED to be uniquely a piece of Covid virus) is copied, so that the effect is a doubling of the DNA which indicates the Covid virus each time you temperature cycle the tiny test tube of liquid. How unique this selected piece of RNA is to Covid 19 is potentially an issue, too.
So, if you start with one virus fragment, after one cycle of copying you have two. Cycle again and you have four. Cycle again and you have eight, then 16, then 32.....and so on. The testing is reportedly cycling the samples 40 times. This represents an amplification factor of 2^40 , which is 2 multiplied times itself 40 times, or two exponent 40.
The amplification factor is 1.1 trillion times. That is 1,099,000,000,000 times whatever you started with. So, if the sample had 5 virus particles in it, the result would be 5,497,000,000,000 virus particles in your sample....I feel confident that this would be a 'positive test' result. Probably a single virus fragment would get a positive test result. I think this is real weakness of this test....TOO sensitive.
Now here is the important question: Is having 1 or 3 or 5 virus particles (and they can be fragments, they do not have to be a whole functional virus) in your system a certain marker that you "have the virus"....or perhaps people have been exposed to an unseen blizzard of broken virus fragments floating around, and either too few to actually cause an infection, or they are just pieces of virus, not functional whole viruses? Or are there fragments of other corona viruses which are the same as this fragment which is being considered as "unique to Covid-19"?
I am doubting the test is finding only people who "have the disease". Something else is going on. And it is not politically useful to ask these questions.....so they do NOT get investigated. The power structures enjoy their power, and don't want it interfered with. It seems to this non-expert likely that a really infected person will have thousands of viruses in a sample, and would show a positive test with 35 cycles (~34 billion times amplification). Keep dialing up the cycles and you amplify .....noise?

Some lady named Connie Schultz, a columnist from Kent State, wrote an article about choosing love and cancelling Thanksgiving this year. She really put out the guilt and asked which person were you willing to lose if you invited them to Thanksgiving dinner and they caught the virus and died. Gee lady, anyone can go to a dinner at your home, get in a car accident on the way home, or have a heart attack and die the next day. No one is guaranteed another day on this earth, so I say enjoy your dinner with your loved ones and remember that 94% survive this virus. By the way, she even wrote that your loved ones lie and you can’t trust them. I’m sure glad this gal is not a member of my family.
