A major world bank proposed a 5% tax on anyone working from home after the COVID-19 pandemic ends. Deutsche Bank researchers argued that people working from home enjoy economic privileges that do not extend to those forced to work in person. “Remote workers are contributing less to the infrastructure of the economy whilst still receiving its benefits,” analyst Luke Templeman wrote. In its “What We Must Do To Rebuild” report, Deutsche Bank said such a tax was long overdue. Researchers argued that remote workers don’t make as many daily purchases as in-person workers, therefore they should contribute to the economy in some other

My, Lord. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. Leave it to the liberals to crawl up your nether regions to get to your wallet.

The article says work from home folks contribute less to the economy? How's that? I still eat, I still get dressed, I heat my house. I pay my taxes. How do I contribute less? If anything, it seems to me that I contribute more from home. And, what if the place already took that into account when they offered me a salary. Like I very much remember the statement, "well, you'll be working from home so that should be considered an added benefit so we don't have to pay you as much as if you came in here every day".

Typical leftwing tactic: Pitting people against each other. This time it's remote workers against in-person workers. There are more in-person workers so they'll be onboard the ''yeah, tax THEM, not me'' scam. In the meantime, the greedy government gets more money to pilfer and waste. Same 'ol same'ol.

What? The only thing I spend less on now than when I was in the office is gasoline and the left wants me to stop driving anyway.
We need a 5% stupid tax on DB and others who say equally unfounded and ridiculous things. I guarantee all stupid nonsense will immediately stop if they had to pay for it.

A lot of people can't get a job outside the home, so have to do the best they can from home.

“Remote workers are contributing less to the infrastructure of the economy
whilst still receiving its benefits,”
They are also not,
wearing out roads,
soiling mass transit,
burning up gas,
burning up tires,
creating carbon emissions,
creating congestion and traffic jams,
creating noise pollution,
creating dry cleaning waste chemicals,
etc.
Seems almost like the State should be refunding tax money
to the people working from home,
don't it?
I would say Deutsche Bank covetists can kiss my bottom but,
COVID.

We are faced here in America with an unholy alliance of Big Business, "woke" capital, Leftist Fascists, and Party-controlled media that will make Fascist Germany's alliance between business and the National Socialist Workers Party look like kindergarten recess.
When Business and the Party ally, the workers get crushed.

How about taxing the employer of DoucheBank employees that work from home? Yeah, that's the ticket.

It sounds like a 'consumer' tax. The government decides how much you should be spending, and if you don't meet their target, they tax you for the difference.

It doesn't matter if those working from home spend less money or not, it's their money and their choice to spend or save.

#16 that is an idea that Judge Roberts can get behind. If you don't buy something, the government will tax you.
