Ron Klain, the long-serving aide to former Vice President Joe Biden who was named White House chief of staff Wednesday in the event his boss is certified as the winner of the election, tweeted in 2014 that he believed American elections are rigged. Klain’s tweet came in response to a tweet by Vox.com that reported that 68 percent of Americans believe our elections are rigged:(Snip)The accompanying article said that Americans were right to suspect elections were “rigged” — because of what was legal:

I get the impression, elites think all this campaigning and voting, as well as the dirty-tricking and scandals in between, are just theater for the little people. After all picking a President is just too big a task for the peasants. They just never counted on this phenomenon called The Donald.

And we’re supposed to just be okay with this? NOT ANYMORE!! We’ve all known this for a long time, but now, we have an actual fighter in PDT! Now is the ONLY time we can get rid of the fraud in our elections. Those people who are committing these crimes need to go to jail!!

About Atlanta’s Election Day Pipe Dream 14 replies

Election Day 2020 was unusual for several predictable reasons involving high in-person turnout and veritable avalanches of mail-in ballots. One exceptionally odd event, however, took everyone by surprise — vote counting suddenly stopped for hours in several key swing states late Tuesday night. One of these mysterious halts occurred in Fulton County, Georgia, where election officials insisted that a broken water pipe necessitated a four-hour delay before counting of absentee ballots could resume. Yet evidence for what would have been quite a serious plumbing issue has been strangely elusive. There doesn’t appear to be any paperwork involving this leak.

Earlier today my RedState colleague Nick Arama reported that House GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is speculating that Nancy Pelosi may no longer have the votes in the House Democrat caucus to remaining Speaker of the House.A few days ago, when the late-deciding House races started to go against the Democrats, I wrote this story about the possible implications coming out of the House Democrat Caucus conference call where fingers of blame were being pointed over the losses that were suffered by various incumbents who had faced difficult races. The news has not improved for Pelosi since I wrote my earlier story — in fact, it has gotten worse

As far as almost all of the mainstream media and the half of the country that voted for Joe Biden is concerned, President Donald Trump and his supporters are sore losers. The president's refusal to accept the projections of media vote counters that he has lost the election, as well as his claims that the election is being stolen from him, is being put down as more than just poor sportsmanship. He is accused, along with many of the 71 million Americans that voted for him, of spreading "disinformation" about claims of voter fraud about officials in Democratic-run cities and states allegedly wrongly influencing the count

Elections don’t make democracies; free and fair elections do. Today, in the midst of post-election chaos, we find ourselves in a fight for the latter. In that sense, this election is about far more than Donald Trump the man, or even his policies. The question is this: either democracy survives or one political party will be allowed to bully, lie, cheat, and steal its way into power. The stakes, at this moment, in this country that we love, could not be higher. Some Republicans are used to losing and habituated to concession, but the President and the largest number of voters for any Republican in American history know

Joe Biden has made it clear that he will do his best to “unify” the country following an election in which more than 71 million Americans – nearly half the electorate – voted for Donald Trump. It is an admirable goal. But any chance of that happening depends on the American people having confidence that the election outcome resulted from a fair and honest process. Though never perfect, our electoral system has generally instilled confidence for the past 231 years, which is why it has worked so well. Under the contentious circumstances of this election, the traditional media’s decision to declare a victor before the official process

Like the Potemkin villages quickly erected to hide the squalor in which Russian peasants lived during the reign of Catherine the Great, a façade of legitimacy is under construction by the Fourth Estate to cover up the widespread voting irregularities that gave us “President-Elect Biden.” Never mind that the election was prematurely called for our erstwhile vice president by the same “news” media that steadfastly refused to report his well-documented history of racism, influence peddling, serial plagiarism, and conspicuous cognitive decline. They now expect the electorate to accept their word that Biden has won the presidency a month before he is elevated to that office by the Electoral College.

Nothing has changed since Friday night. You might find that strange, given the media stampede to certify the election results for their man, but it’s crucial. The calls made Saturday morning are as arbitrary as they were last Tuesday, could just as easily have waited for Monday, and fly in the face of massive evidence of voter irregularities that, at minimum, should be heard in court before anyone considers calling the election.Add pending lawsuits and official recounts in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan and Wisconsin, and the conclusion is an attempt by the American media to pick our president and decide our election.

PINE TOWNSHIP — Had you spent any space of time in this northern suburb of Pittsburgh listening to voters, finding out what things mattered to them when it came to schools, community growth, economic prosperity, and the emotional impact of COVID-19 lockdowns, you would have at least been skeptical of the media narrative and the polls that claimed suburban voters here are no longer center-right. Not Republican per se, just center-right.Most reporters certainly didn’t take the time to do so. Instead, they relied on the scolding of our cultural curators in sports, media, and Hollywood as an indicator of how these college-educated, affluent voters would vote.
A House Divided Along New Lines 5 replies

America’s election reflects perfectly her psychological state. Divided and frustrated, citizens are realigning not along race or gender lines, but along philosophical ones. What does it mean to be an American? Who gets to define it? On one side: citizens of a Republic — Republicans. On the other side, the Oligarchy and the mob — Democrats. The two sides are fighting for control of America. Americans used to agree on certain things. They believed in God. They believed that America was a force for good in the world. They believed in the individual. They believed in protecting the innocent.

This morning at my site I had a post explaining the misery, at least from my perspective, of watching the American political system devolve into failure this week: My mood isn’t the result of despondency that the election is lost. I don’t think it’s lost. At least, I’m not sure it’s lost. What I’ve recognized, what that late night on Tuesday taught me, is that the election is just a symptom of something a whole lot worse. At the end of the day, it’s this: the game will continue until the Left says it’s over.

A Democratic drive to win control of the U.S. Senate appeared to fall short, with Democrats picking up only one Republican-held seat while six other races remained undecided early on Wednesday.Democrats defeated Republican Senators Cory Gardner of Colorado and Martha McSally of Arizona but lost the Alabama seat held by Democratic Senator Doug Jones. To win the majority in the Senate, Democrats would need to pick up three Republican seats if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is elected president and Senator Kamala Harris wields the tie-breaking vote as vice president. But the Democratic path to victory narrowed sharply as results poured in and the final outcome may not

Karl Rove, the past political guru to former President George W. Bush, said President Trump’s legal efforts in a handful of states aren’t going to be enough to change the ultimate outcome of the 2020 election. Mr. Rove said the president is well within his rights to go to court over concerns about fraud and transparency in his race against Democratic challenger Joseph R. Biden. “But the president’s efforts are unlikely to move a single state from Mr. Biden’s column, and certainly they’re not enough to change the final outcome,” Mr. Rove wrote in the Wall Street Journal in a piece published late Wednesday.

House Democrats have the majority and are ripping each other to shreds. Senate Democrats fell short for the third cycle in a row, but are only grousing about getting out-messaged by Republicans. The two caucuses are going about their soul-searching a little differently. The fallout in the House has been swift. Though Nancy Pelosi’s speakership appears safe, the chair of House Democrats’ campaign arm, Cheri Bustos, announced Monday she wouldn’t run for another term after more than a half dozen Democratic incumbents lost their races. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Senate Democrats are expected to easily reelect their leadership team headed by

On Thursday, The Atlantic published an excerpt from former President Barack Obama’s forthcoming memoir, A Promised Land, set to be released next week. The excerpt echoes Obama’s classic style, praising America while furthering radical and subversive critiques. In one critical passage, Obama suggests he may have gone too easy on America’s faults during his eight years in office. “I recognize that there are those who believe that it’s time to discard the myth—that an examination of America’s past and an even cursory glance at today’s headlines show that this nation’s ideals have always been secondary to conquest and subjugation, a racial caste system and rapacious capitalism,

Throughout the 2020 presidential election, Jill Biden was never far from the side of her 77-year-old husband, Joe Biden, and with the same corrupt media establishment that carried the former vice president across the finish line having rushed to call the race in his favor, they have shifted to a new strategy of moving on from an election that remains in flux. And part of that campaign centers on casting Mrs. Biden as the incoming first lady, but The Hill may have been a little too eager in that endeavor when they ran with the headline, “Jill Biden set to redefine role of first lady.”
