During Trump’s 60 Minutes sit-down,
Lesley Stahl humiliated herself

The CBS 60 Minutes fiasco was all of Lesley Stahl’s doing; she embarrassed herself. She thought that she had the President in her sights and she intended to belittle him. Why not? She and her network have a long history of deceitful editing with the goal of destroying people they loathe. Remember Dan Rather’s “fake but accurate” defense of his phony documents meant to derail George Bush’s re-election.
Stahl’s interview was not an interview, it was an ambush. She did not count on him pushing back; that is how dense she is.

Wonderful article, thanks Patricia.
The Donald pushed back and Lesley's feelings were hurt.
She tried to get Rush to pledge his listeners to a smooth transition.
Someone notes that she is Nancy's age. Over the hill and uninformed!

She totally ignored most of President Trump's answers. She told him what he did and did not know. She was debating.

I've intentionally avoided her for decades, but, of course, saw clips of the interview before it aired. OMG! Seeing her still wearing the same hairdo and make-up of her much-younger days startled me. She's straight out of "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane"!

She's either uninformed or dishonest, probably both. She should be embarrassed, if even possible.

Sixty Minutes lost their credibility probably 30 years ago with the exploding gas tank fiasco. I have not watched the show again. You can always expect the "hosts" to have an agenda. Why would any politician ever want to do the show?

Excellent article. Spot on analysis!
Leslie’s superior and dismissive attitude toward the POTUS was clear indication that she thinks far more highly of herself than she should. Embarrassingly shameful.

The media does this for the entertainment of other liberals. The rest of us are not even slightly interested in watching these unprofessional morons make fools of themselves.

To be humiliated, Stahl would have to have some self respect, pride, dignity, honestly, introspection and integrity. It is impossible for Stahl to be humiliated has she nothing in her character to understand humiliation. It is impossible for one to be humiliated while navel gazing in an echo chamber. Simply impossible.

I can't imagine how it happened but in the encyclopedia of slang terms there is a photo of Lesley Stahl under the word s.k.a.n.k.

I was hoping Leslie would be fair and professional. Even though I only watched clips of the interview, she seemed to act childish and unprofessional. I'm sure she'll be rewarded in her next paycheck for following the corporate dictates for trying to slam President Trump with her lack of respect and arrogance.

Stahl really did herself a disservice. At age 78, will be tough to re-establish herself as an objective journalist. Like she even was to begin with.

I have known many arrogant, snobbish people who believe they are sophisticated because they get their news from NPR, PBS and 60 minutes. They are to news as Whole Foods shoppers are to groceries.

Lesley's old enough to be my momma. Why isn't she retired? The old communists are holding out for that day when America goes red. Poor fools.

liberals don't consider humiliating oneself as a deficit. more like a badge of honor. she should have known that he has the chutzpa to get up and walk out of any situation which is turning negative. why is the big man the only adult in the room no matter where he goes?

Stahl finished her career. She is done. Trump published what happened, and 60 minutes has been shown to be the leftist shill they are.

It was clear from the first moments of her hatchet job (clearly wasn't a traditional question/answer interview) that she was out to put him on his heels. Her continual interruptions were nasty and her lack of knowledge of what's actually been printed was an embarrassment towards all supposed journalists.
Her absolute lack of understanding of what he had accomplished was beyond belief. It was a DNC interview of a campaign opponent.

This reminds me of all the videos of shallow reporterettes trying to ambush Jordan Peterson. They sit with a truly fascinating person, and all they know how to do is act superior and try silly devices to expose wrong-think. It is, as the author says, pathetic.
By the way, McCarthy excoriates NeverTrumpers who have "lost the ability to reason", then lauds Thomas Sowell as one of the patriots who "keep us grounded." I love the guy, but isn't Sowell a NeverTrumper? Maybe he's come around; I hope so.

I watched the two interviews the President posted. I taped 60 Minutes to watch later and see how it compared. After the opening segment of the interview I deleted the recording so I wouldn't waste any more of my time. Stahl was pathetic, hectoring the President and acting like a clueless chucklehead.

“Ernie Pyle”. Now that’s a name I haven’t heard for awhile. It would be a hoot to watch Leslie Stahl debating him.
Thank you #22 for that memory nudge. And thank you other posters who delight us by using certain words to describe disreputes we are sometimes exposed to.
