This was Donald Trump’s best presidential debate ever. His GOP primary debates in 2016 were of a different sort, for different purposes, with different targets. But this was a fabulous presidential debate for him. His best.
It also was a pretty decent night for Joe Biden.
Like so many others, I have no idea how sharply accurate or wildly inaccurate the polls are. Unlike people polled about anything else, the one polling topic that is dangerous for many is to say that one supports Trump for President. You might get suspended from your job. You might get fired. There may be a Twitter storm aimed at destroying you.

Biden has made a political career of sounding like Joe Biden did last night. Same old talking points of doing more for the middle class working "man" trying to put food on the table. Uh, excuse me Joe, but the nuclear family of the 1960's is gone.
President Trump was spot on when he kept mentioning, "Forty-seven years, Joe," or, "You had eight years, Joe, what did you do? Nothing." It was a damning indictment of the professional politician class in Federal employ. Oh, and then with that attack POTUS finally got Biden to say, "I was only Vice President then, I wasn't President, but when I'm President...," he effectively trapped him into criticizing Obama's job as President. Haha, so now Obama will NOT help "the big guy" Biden's campaign in the last two weeks.
President Trump also scored big by injecting Biden Inc. into the dialog. Pretty difficult for the MSM to not address that now! Of course Biden resorted to the standard Democrat defense of, "Everybody who has looked at this agrees it's nothing, blah, blah, blah." Biden even said he never took anything from a foreign government, which may be a true statement in the strictest sense, but he DID take money from state-owned businesses in Ukraine, China, and possibly others. He is truly, "Slippery, Sleepy Joe."
Bringing up Joe's abysmal record on Civil Rights was also appropriate to swing "black and brown" voters. President Trump also used the "Cages" to correct the Dem talking point of the separation of families at the border. It was clear that the POTUS had a better grasp on what was going on down there than Biden.

I didn't watch the debate but read the President's mic was cut off 50 minutes in.

PDT could have done a better job. he was repetitive and drifted sideways. But Joe Biden definitely lost. He came across as a typical Washington Swamper - mile wide inch deep. His body language against accusations were that of a guilty man. His lies were easily disprovable. No one who saw him would believe that he will complete four years if elected. The consequence of that was the unspoken shadow in the room.

I think Trump clearly came out on top but I think what happens next will be more important than any victory margin at the official end of the debate. We need to see follow up this morning addressing the lies Biden spewed. We again need to see the loop of Biden saying he was going to end fracking etc.

I wanted to see what the Bidenites are saying so I went to CNN on line. Top story is that Trump started the debate with a lie. What lie? That originally it was predicted 2 million Americans would die of COVID. Gee, I recall that prediction very well. I read no farther. The dishonesty is strong at CNN.

Joe Biden is ignorant of reality and the facts, especially economics. He was programmed to spew the party line. President Trump was polite with his remarks and that was good. I thought he did very well on Climate Change and fracking. Trump has plenty of time to present the facts on the campaign trail. Joe is a Democrat blowhard with no follow through. Like PDT said... all talk and no action.

Good to hear. I didn't bother, watch an old Gunsmoke episode instead. My wife and I have already voted, and dynamite couldn't change our votes before that, anyway. We'll be working a very long day on Nov. 3 at the polls. 4:30 to 7 pm + cleanup time. Can't leave the polling place at all, bring your lunch, drinks, snacks, etc. Working the whole time.
We finally decided to give back, get involved personally in this.

If Smidgen continues to stump for Biden, we'll have clear evidence that he's just a powerless tool. I think he's that anyway, but I digress. He goes where the masters tell him to go, he says what they tell him to say (no more teleprompters for you, loser), and he likes it. I'm having so much fun; I'm savoring the final days before the election.
