California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff revealed over the weekend that he would “favor doing away with the Electoral College system.”During an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Schiff made a slew of controversial comments about the election and Electoral College. “I think we’re better off focusing on discrete amendments to the Constitution to overturn Citizens United and make sure that we can have elections untampered or uninfluenced by excessive expenditures and dark money,” Schiff said. He added, “And I would favor doing away with the Electoral College system.”

I wonder what else he’d support doing away with. All other members of Congress? After all, it’s so cumbersome for him to have to get other people’s agreement for what he wants to do.
Is there anything destructive that he wouldn’t support?

Didn't this Schiff-for-brains take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States?
Isn't the Electoral College spelled out in the Constitution of the United States?
So, Schiff-for-brains is violating his sacred oath, and should be hanged immediately.

From Wikipedia:
The ruling effectively freed labor unions and corporations to spend money on electioneering communications and to directly advocate for the election or defeat of candidates. ... Studies show that the Citizens United ruling boosted the electoral success of Republican candidates.
Once again, since it doesn't look to be benefiting Democrats, they feel the ruling must be changed.
The EC is being attacked because, once again, it's not working in their benefit, and if changed would remove any chance for any smaller state to have any sort of input into any legislation or taxation.
Just imagine, they'd quickly vote for a national sales tax which those smaller states would be powerless to stop.
Let's hope for a Republican House in January, and we can investigate the abuse of office by Rep. bull Schiff, and likely retire Nancy Pelosi and a few dozen older Democrats.

The Democrats would support ‘doing away’ with the entire Constitution so they could write their own manifesto. That is why they should never have power.

The 25 smallest states in population have zero reason to agree to this and it only takes 13 states to block a Constitutional amendment. So Schiff can go ahead and stew in his juices.

Why does his opinion matter?

Schiff is precisely why freedom loving Americans NEED the Electoral System. He is a hateful dictator to the core.

#7. I live in Maine, a very small state. We have a Democrat state legislature which would vote in a heart beat for virtually ANY Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that the national Democrat Party advocated!

So schiffhead would like elections untampered and uninfluenced by excessive expenditures. That would mean he's against things like Bloombergs $100,000,000 to Florida or any union donations, and of course, nothing from any Soros group, right?

Presumably the Harvard Law grad knows that all it will take is 2/3 of Congress and 3/4 of the states.

All the dems have to do is get an amendment passed in Congress, then ratified by 3/4th of the states. Like that is going to happen...

Schiff for brains must know that his reasons for eliminating the Electoral College also apply to eliminating the U.S. Senate. We would no longer have 50 states (or 52?) but instead would have 50 provinces. All government would emanate from the Mother Ship in Washington D.C. This is the Democrats ultimate goal of a Big Brother government ala George Orwell's dystopia or the real world dystopia of Communist China.

So, we are going to hear all the fretting about money in campaigns all over again. Get your sister's former father in law Soros to stop donation to everybody he can buy. That will stop a lot of your dark money.

No chance that this can EVER pass because it would require a Constitutional Amendment. That requires a vote fo 2/3 of the state legislatures - which is 34 states, to pass.
This will NEVER happen because many of those states would recognize that they would be voting to make all their voters totally irrelevant for future Presidential elections.
Not going to ever happen. These fools can dream away, NOT HAPPENING.

Blessing in disguise.
Get rid of the Electoral College - the US will immediately split up.
NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, . LA, Denver Portland Seattle - all your Democrat cities will be immediately kicked out of the US. They will become independent city states.
The remainder of New York State , California etc will remain in Free America,
