Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Sunday accused Republican leader Mitch McConnell of "jamming through the hearings on Amy Coney Barrett, even though three senators have COVID, even though he has said it’s not safe for the Senate to meet in session, but it’s OK to have the hearings."McConnell tweeted on Saturday: "Senate floor proceedings will be postponed until October 19th. The @SenJudiciary confirmation hearings for Judge Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court will convene on October 12th as scheduled by Chairman Graham."In an accompanying statement, McConnell said the Senate’s floor schedule “will not interrupt the thorough, fair, and historically supported confirmation process
There's no drama... that's what Schumah doesn't like. TOO BAD!!!

Very odd...Schumer has not made the same comments regarding Biden's entire 'virtual' campaign. And which decision is more important...next Justice for SCOTUS, or next POTUS?
He's just made because a virtual hearing offers minimal opportunity for the hystrionic theatrics of Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing.

Ooo...good one, Chuck! Another bumpersticker one-liner, written by Rob Reiner. Devastating!

Ok, Chuckie! You asked for it! No confirmation hearing, let's just go straight to a floor vote!

Then not “in-person” voting is really not voting at all.

Chuck, you really should boycott, and refuse to attend the travesty of denying you your usual bully pulpit.

You had a virtual hearing with Comey just the other day, and it's been done 20 other times since May.
Plus, ACB was just subject to Senate confirmation 3 years ago.

Did you hear that, Mitch? Skip the hearings. They're meaningless. Just vote.

No hearing at all works, too. The democrats have already said they will NOT vote for Barrett. So skip any pretense of hearings and go straight to the vote in the open senate.

Schumer whimsically calls them ''hearings.''
They are nothing but a media circus, staffed by democrat clowns. Schumer should paint his nose red, get some clown shoes and a wig, and demonstrate his true self!

That is silly. My husband takes part in large virtual meetings where numerous participants are seen and heard by all participants.

They just had hearings for her in 2017.
All they need to ask her about is her record between then and now.

You don't need no stinking' hearing. Call the vote, and shut Schumer up.

Chuck Schumer is a liar. A professional politician in office for way too many years, he knows he does not have the votes in the Senate to stop the appointment of Justice Barrett, so now he has turned to ranting. He is flailing about, shouting nonsensical reasons why the confirmation should not proceed.
Check, we KNOW why you don't want this to happen. You want a liberal majority in SCOTUS. You will not get it. If anything, Trump will increase the number of conservatives on the Supreme Court. And the Democrat Party is actually on its last legs here-they have to resort to nominating BIDEN? If that isn't scraping the bottom of the barrel I don't know what is.

Supreme Court arguments have been done virtually since March. Is Chuck U telling us that all of those efforts were for naught and must be thrown out? Methinks not! Chuck's tears could solve the drought in the NE and SW this year.

virtual voting -- by mail - is perfectly safe.
virtual theater-going is the newest thing.
virtual swearing into the Air Force was done with a niece, supposed to be good.
you had Liar Comey testily virtually, and no complaints.

Confirmation hearings are all about senators with presidential aspirations preening for the cameras. I can understand Chuckle's dismay.

Half of them are refusing to even meet Amy Barrett. They've shown their disrespect. They deserve no special, or even ordinary, consideration. Just to the important and necessary thing. Confirm Amy Coney Barrett!
When trying to boil down what the Dem character is, it is simply this: a craven lust for power over other people, to dominate and control, to get rid of liberty and put the person into bondage to the State.
Next time Schumer is speaking, turn off the volume (that is, if you don't already. I can not listen to him). Look at how his mouth twists into a crooked sneer. Look at Pelosi. The same thing. In fact, all of them. It's the ugliness within coming to the surface.
Lindsay: if it's the last service you do for us in the Senate: get her confirmed without fail, without delay. You KNOW they would never be solicitous to the Republicans. Now do the right thing and get her confirmed.

I don't know who is worse: Chuckie or Nasty Nancy. All they want to do is change the rules to benefit themselves.
I am blaming anybody who voted for these two over and over and over.
