Just a couple of hours before President Trump announced that he and his wife, first lady Melania, had tested positive for coronavirus, the world was exposed to the so-called ‘Melania Tapes’. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former friend of the first lady, released to CNN multiple recordings she took of her private conversations with Melania. Leftists who already despise the first lady raged about how she supposedly ‘hates’ Christmas and doesn’t care about migrant children. However, the tapes actually revealed a deeply sympathetic and relatable figure belied by Melania’s somewhat aloof and statuesque public persona.

It is expected of her to decorate the WH at Christmas which she has done beautifully while there. The Media has made a point to criticize her every year. Why should she like the Media? They are out to get her and her husband any way possible. She is beautiful, elegant, creative, and smart. What's there not to like? Wouldn't we like to be a fly on the wall when Hillary or Jackie or Michelle talked in private!!! PS: Hillary cusses like a sailor and I am willing to bet Jackie and Michelle use a few themselves. I can't stand the Media.

The media ignores her unless they can report negative stories. Melania said it, "They hate us."

Melania is reputedly very shy, so the pressure of the media when Trump won was probably very hard for her to deal with at first. Then you add to the mix the media was convinced she was separated from her husband because she stayed in NYC. Well, she stayed because her SON had to finish his school year. Most sane people who have kids understand that.

I listened to the tape. It is a nothing burger. Melania was countering the false narratives the media had been spewing. She said nothing wrong. She was simply stating the fact that the media is so utterly dishonest.

The language doesn't help me. I have used that word, and personally use it occasionally, and probably more than I should, but I am still a bit put off when women, especially refined, educated upper class women use the "f word".

#6, when all you hear in movies and on cable shows is that word, we have become so inured to it that it no longer shocks us. Hey, remember Creepy Joe and his "Big F'ng Deal" quote? And I bet that Wolkoff is a frequent user of it.

I've found it hilariously revealing that the lefty magazines will have nothing to do with Melania but were constantly assaulting us with visual spreads gushing over the style and chic of former wrestler and bag lady Moochelle. I still have nightmares remembering poor Michelle descending from AF1 in... jean cutoffs. Ahhh!!

I'm disappointed to hear that Melania uses gutter language. I don't think it makes anyone "cooler". I would have thought her to be above that sort of thing.

If she were shy, she’d never have made it through her life. She is absolutely terrific in so many ways, and if she has to use the f-word once in a while in what she thought was privacy, among others like the traitorous Wolkoff who probably swears like a sailor, so what? The ultimate hypocrite is the man who admits to using it but thinks refined women should not. Pfffft. Occasionally the letting off of steam with an impromptu f-word is the difference between a tsking wuss and a wuss with his head bashed in with a 12” cast iron skillet...

Some need to learn the difference between reserved and shy. Melania is reserved. She does not talk all the time, does not try to grab attentionn, doesn’t wave her hands around, smile and laugh with her mouth gaping open, acting like a flibbergibbet. She is very cool, IMO.
All Wolkoff disclosed was that Melania is a real person.

Don't take my comment about not liking to hear women us the f-word as meaning that I don't love Melania, and think she is pretty wonderful.
I just see that is a bit of unnecessary 'tarnish' on a beautiful lady. If she'd switch it out for the occasional 'damn', it is a lot more ladylike. Yes, everyone swears, and I used to do it way more than was polite, learning it in college. I eventually realized that I should tone it down. Sure, that word comes out, but I try to minimize it, and definitely not around ladies. I guess I am old fashioned, and I know that it's all over the movies, probably where Melania picked it up, I would bet.
I still think she is by far one of the most amazing first ladies we have had in a very long time, probably my lifetime, really. Only Jackie Kennedy seemed as glamorous, and refined and ladylike, IMO.

I don’t believe those who are cringing have to worry about Melania’s using inappropriate language in public. She thought she was with a friend. So much for friends, right?

This whole kerfuffle says more about Stephanie Winston Wolkoff than Melania Trump. Profanity is a pet peeve of mine but I do not condemn her choice of words because I can only imagine the frustration the First Lady feels on a daily basis There’s no telling what I would say or do in a situation like she has been thrust into. To know that the vicious left is out to get you, your husband and your family is a kind of stress that has to be debilitating at times. Blowing off stream and ranting to someone you trust is a great stress reliever. To have that trust betrayed is an act of treachery and utter lack of character on Wolkoff’s part. She is the worst kind of woman. She was untrustworthy when her trust should have been the very essence of their friendship. It is heartbreaking to know that Mrs. Trump has been so betrayed, but she has nothing for which to be ashamed. Sadly, I am sure she is learning the hard way that some women just cannot be trusted. Sometimes I really do not like members of my own sex. Wolkoff is a snake.

Best First Lady in my long life, for many reasons. You have to put yourself in her place and imagine what you would do and say if a famous actor, peter fonda, said what he said about YOUR son. Foul language would be the last thing anyone would be talking about if it were me. I give her the widest pass possible for the incredible hate that has been publicly directed at her by the famous and the sewer. ALL of it fanned on by a truly evil media. They can not stand the fact that she is so much better than all of them. She loves this country because she lived the rat dream/nightmare. Sane, patriotic, people love her right back. I am amazed at her strength.
