Only two days after calling on Republicans to delay the Supreme Court nomination process until after the presidential election, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has, once again, called on Republicans to delay Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination process. In a joint statement Friday morning, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-CA) and Feinstein called on Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) to delay the hearing, in parGraham because of President Donald Trump’s recent positive coronavirus test. “It is premature for Chairman Graham to commit to a hearing schedule when we do not know the full extent of potential exposure stemming from the president’s infection

I'm pretty sure a very simple "no" will suffice for this idiotic "demand"!!!

I don't follow their logic, Trump has done his part of the job, now it up to Senate. Yes I know Democrat logic is back-a-ward.

If the democrats keep it up their list of excuses to delay Amy's confirmation will be as long as listing the causes of Global Warming/Climate Change.

The strength of our system of government is that it functions in spite of individual predilections. It functions in summer and winter. In war and peace. During the massive 1917-18 Spanish flu epidemic. During the civil war. The house voted on bills with only 50 present, while 5 million people died of the Spanish flu. Congress can function now.

Baloney, what the US Senate does has nothing to do with Trump testing positive for COVID. By the time the Senate hearings come about the people who tested positive will have tested negative, twice. That's what happened to me back in June.

Trumps positive test has ZERO to do with the Senate's job.
The Senate can, and should, work even if a few aren't feeling well too.
Heck, they held a hearing with the fired FBI director, Comey, remotely just the other day.
Stop making excuses, justifications or rationalizations!!!!

The President does not attend the hearings so his current health status is irrelevant. Any Senator who may test positive who needs to participate in the hearings but needs to quarantine and is healthy enough, can participate via Zoom or some other streaming meeting software. It shouldn't matter anyway. Weren't several Democrat Senators boycotting meeting Judge Barrett and the hearings? Just save time and money and skip straight to the vote please.

The Republicans should do just what the dems would do if they had a Judge to vote on, and the president was in the hospital. They would just proceed in honor of their president. So, the Republicans should just go ahead and vote

Mitch McConnell needs to get out in front of this right now, and say no. Dems are flapping their traps all over the media about this, and nothing from Republicans. Why, why, WHY are Republicans always on defense? Always.

They can have video hearings from their remote locations, like they do for other business. Trouble is, they can't have screeching women, wailing and screaming in the audience.
We don't need another democrat clown show.

In response, Sen. Graham should run a Zoom hearing, and that way he controls everyone’s microphones. When the Dems go into their clown act he can switch off their microphones. The hearing can be devoid of audience and cameras, and the networks will hate the boring postage stamps format. And this way, too, Sen. Mike Lee can participate as well while quarantined. Hey, Feinstein, just helping out here.

Maybe it's wasn't explained clearly but the President and the Senate are two separate entities and Trumo has little to do with their daily business.
Perhaps we can get someone who speaks Chinese to explain things to her?

I'm sure Feinstein wouldn't survive COVID-19. She is probably genuinely afraid, but unfortunately like police and military who must put their lives on the line for others, she and other Senators have to take the same risks that they ask other to take. Govern or get out. If your not willing to take a risk for the nation you have no business in the Senate. TRUMP set the example of not letting COVID-19 turn us into panicky, whiney, cowering, pathetic mob begging for toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

Are these the same people that assured us RBG could do her job from the hospital? If she can do the job of a SCOTUS justice, I think Schumer can manage to do his job of saying "no."

There is no need for a hearing, and Mitch should just call for a vote as many of the L-dotters have commented here. It would be like a tonic to the President to learn that Judge Amy is confirmed.

John McCain was away from the Senate for months. Kamala Harris has been off campaigning. Work goes on. No reason to quit now.
If a Dem on the Judiciary Committee is sick, appoint a replacement and move on.
