The US Navy SEALs have changed their creed statement to become gender-neutral and have eliminated terms such as “brotherhood,” according to a report. “Naval Special Warfare continues to deliberately develop a culture of tactical and ethical excellence that reflects the nation we represent, and that draws upon the talents of the all-volunteer force who meet the standards of qualification as a SEAL or SWCC,” Navy Special Warfare spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Matthew Stroup told American Military News.(Snip) Instead of “A common man with uncommon desire to succeed,” it now says: “Common citizens with uncommon desire to succeed.” Another alters “I am that man”

That is too damn bad. Navy Seals have to achieve goals and standards to get into the unit, they are therefore, and henceforth sailors! That should be gender neutral enough for any little lady or gender fluid snowflakes!

Great. Now we have neutered SEALS. Funny how the ones who demand this sort of stupidity would be the first ones to hide behind the SEALS if their lives were in danger. Just ask the crew who saved the diplo's at Bengazi.

What is the matter with these people? Can't they leave anything alone? The military has always been a brotherhood, and now they want to turn it into genderneutralhood. Then there is the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Berger (worst Commandant ever), ripping apart what once made the Corps special. I'm sick to my stomach.

Ladies, you simply aren't physically strong enough for the job. I would suggest working on your advantages. Bubba the no neck SEAL will not fit into a fighter jet.. Serve away and use your personal attributes to the best advantage you can.

Why change now?
There are no women SEALS.
Why not wait until there are to make the change?
At this point this is nothing more than virtue signaling.

I am all for women being able to do jobs in which they can LEGITIMATELY give the same performance as men. An example is flying a modern aircraft. The controls are powered and the requirements are good eyes, good hand-eye coordination, the ability to think fast and control a complex system in three dimensions at high speed and high G levels. Some women can absolutely do that.
But this is sad. There will be no women who can legitimately pass the SEAL BUDS "entrance exam". The overwhelming majority of men, who are taller, stronger, and with dramatically more muscle mass cannot pass BUDS.
With SEALs, we are talking about a group which represents some single digit upper percentile of men in terms of their physical capability, how much overlap will there be of women? I am pretty sure that it is absolutely zero.
You can make the point that if the standard is an average male level of physical performance, there may possibly be a tiny percentile of women who can manage that level of performance. Maybe, perhaps, possibly, perchance. But to find women who can equal the top few percentile of male physical performance? No. There are none who have XX chromosomes and are not on massive doses of testosterone and/or steroids. And experience shows that those rare women who can manage to match average male performance are so near their 'breaking point' that they are extremely injury prone, they are running at 99% capability to reach the 50 percentile male capability. Reports in Ranger School are that the female injury rate is very high, much higher than men.
I will bet $1,000 that soon enough, the pressure will build to lower the very extreme physical and mental difficulty level of BUDS so that woman can pass it. You can count on it. And another group of superior warfighters will be degraded and less combat effective. All in the name of "liberating women". This is stupid and destructive.

Does this mean the Seal's standard will have to be lowered to accommodate other genders?

If President Trump doesn't get re-elected and purge the 0bama Perfumed Princes from the Pentagon, next will come pink berets and rainbow fourragères.
I can just imagine what Dick Marcinko has to say about this.

Where do these things come from? No doubt, it's from some back-bencher politician or a faceless bureaucrat. They totally ignore the nature of the corps in favor of some loony academic "arbitrary construction." And then they hide.

I note some posters saying women would make good fighter pilots. Ok for bombers,, cargo aircraft, helicopters, etc. but the average female has less blood in her system and makes her more prone to blackouts in high G turns.

#13, that quotation, a very good and true one, is attributed to George Orwell, not the much esteemed Churchill.

#17, that may be correct, I have no data on female G tolerance compared to men. But my father and father-in-law, both WW2 fighter pilots wore G-suits in the 40s which greatly improved G capability. These are used along with what was called "the M1 maneuver" when I went through the G-suit training, but is now called the Anti-G Straining Maneuver, or AGSM, to further increase G resistance. Or more accurately G-LOC resistance.
You may be right about women having less G tolerance, but I have never seen it reported. Perhaps it would be suppressed today, I don't know. Martha McSally was a combat decorated A-10 driver, and they pull a lot of Gs working back to a gun target.

To all stating the obvious, i.e. females can't meet the physical standards to be a SEAL, wait,m the standards will change or exceptions will be made.

“Common citizens”?? What not just call them comrades, and go full communist? And, from what I’m reading in these posts, these do NOT sound like common men. They sound quite extraordinary.

"Common citizens..."?
News flash - many non-U.S. citizens serve in the U.S. Navy. Does this mean that a strapping enlisted British national can't apply for SEAL training?

To destroy a nation, one must first strip away its traditions. This is why they're aiming to move the Marine Corps out of Parris Island. It's also why we're pulling down statues, disparaging the Founders, and all manner of other changes. To globalists, nations are merely markets filled with consumers to exploit, not places with cohesive bodies of citizens who have any reason to want to defend their homeland.
